Late last night (could have been today, technically), I learned that some of the people closest to me fairly regularly smoke mary-jew-wanna. Not only am I disgusted that they'd be so willing to dirty their own bodies (my simplified opinion; not looking for debate), I feel sorta annoyed that they wouldn't even invite me! (and give me the chance to DENY THEM). Anyway, this came from my prom date. Apparently she's clean (except for one time), which is good. It's looking like we'll end up together, but I don't wanna end up messing things up before prom. Things are sorta nice now, y'know? Feeling confused and angered at my friends, I found that the only person I could connect with was Holden Caulfield, so I bought the Catcher in the Rye. And then StarCraft II. So maybe I can just ignore the precious things...

I thought the video was funny. But yes, we do seem to be in a debt probrem. I don't follow politics enough though, so I won't try and sound smart >_>

I've almost finished Fight Club. I think I preferred the movie, but the movie's ending wasn't very good, and I've heard the book's is better. Then I start Brave New World for my Utopias class, which I've been looking forward to. Probably gonna read some filler before then, though.

Sometimes I see situations and know that I've seen it before in a dream or such. It's never anything important though, just deja vu.

Supposed to me doing an essay... It's not a hard one, but I can't seem to be able to focus on it. Jazz band later, and I'm actually looking forward to it for some reason. Something must be wrong.

I type a lot of stuff here and then I always end up deleting it.... In short: I'm awesome but I often fail to apply that to social situations.

Apparently the girl who I'm going to prom with and I thought liked me quite a bit (even if it wasn't really reciprocated so much) showed her breasts to my friend to get trivial information from him. And I can't drink. Happy St. Paddy's Day?

Are you already in college, or is this going to be for college? Because some colleges have specific laptops that they'll sell to you, or they may require that you get/don't get an Apple laptop. I'd suggest PC because you should be able to get something that you need for a lot cheaper, and tbh you aren't really asking for much in your laptop. Apple products will be far less likely to get infected, but if you choose to use Linux (as Rob suggested), then you'll probably be fine as well. Linux OS will require more research though. It seems pretty cool, but I've only played with it for a little bit. I doubt it'll be very compatible with college/most programs though.

Which one should I use? Both are available freely to me, and I feel that Open Office will be simpler to install (no disc, no service packs and a barrage of 8 years of updates). However, I don't want to be stuck using a program that won't be compatible with the things I want or need to do. Thanks! EDIT: I got Open Office since I was too lazy to find 2003. It seems to work well, but if I don't like it I suppose I can just get 2003 in the future. Thanks for the replies, every opinion is important ^_^

If you just want to play Runescape, you should be fine in just putting in a graphics card (most now are PCI-E, which is listed as available on your motherboard). I only know general products for ATI, so I can't help you choose specifics so well. Also, buy 2gb of ram. Maybe $50?

Speaking of, took an SAT practice thing online today, and realised even more how many stupid little mistakes I make (not thinking things completely through and such). Also, I'd like to pre-order Portal 2, but my parents aren't letting me spend the money that I earn <_<

Got a call from work saying I was supposed to be there half an hour ago (this was earlier). This happens too much, it's surprising they keep me >_>

Yeah, my wallet is screwed this fall. And then I have to pray that my pc doesn't explode. New card, new fan to go with it; this game looks like it's gonna be an investment...

Damn, I can't wait for BF3... Looks like I'll have to upgrade my pc for it though, but it'll definitely beat geting it for Playstation.

I didn't really enjoy watching that trailer... I mean, it wasn't exactly very happy, and I'm not sure what the game is supposed to be. That doesn't really give a trailer for anything... it's just an emotional video (although I'll admit that it's really pretty and dramatic).

Fixed my computer ^_^ Seems that the source of all my problems from day one was a faulty hard drive, so I had to spend $70 for a new one... but it works now!

Got some candy and valentine stuff for this special Monday, but mostly uneventful. Tried writing a song, but didn't really get anywhere... It was gonna be ska-punkish, but I've only been really listening to it for a day or two (so I guess it makes sense that I'm being musically sorta ignorant...). High-Fiving a mirror sounds like AWESOME. Today I bought "Weird Al" Yankovic's children's book, When I Grow Up. He signs it just as Al, though. Also I got When Dream and Day Unite (by Dream Theater). It's pretty 80s.

I've been watching Weird Al Yankovic videos for about an hour. It's made me so happy ^_^ Also, I've discovered someone with the LoTR trilogy extended DVDs. Finally I can watch them!
