  1. What you are currently doing is hunting for kebbits, which has nothing to do with the quest. On the very northern part of that area you are on has a big block of ice, and near it should be some tracks that you can examine. Afterwards you use a pickaxe to mine an opening in that block.
  2. Well the actual spots to charge the orbs are closer to catherby than falador but anyways.... You need 30 runes of the type you want to charge, a high enough magic level, and 3 cosmic. Both the water and fire oblisks(however its spelled) are in the taverly dungeon, thats the one just south of taverly and west of falador. You have to run past blackdragons and poison spiders not including all the other inhabitants like blue dragons ect. The fire ob is right next to the black dragons, and the water ob is directly above them. You can see the water ob from the fishing spots on catherby's beach. Best method is wear whatever equip you need like an anti dragon fire shield, then bring some teleport runes to fally, and finally fill your inventory up with uncharged orbs. Make sure to take antipoisons for the spiders and the anti dragon fire shield is a must because of two dragon types. Don't forget the runes to cast enchant orb too. Hope that helps  PS -- An elemental staff WILL work in place of the runes
  3. I have not done the wilderness course since the removal of pking but I would say it would be the fastest. It won't be the safest course but I always just went out with a max of 3 items and a little food. The course itself won't kill you but will weaken you to the point that any Rev that comes by will have an easy time finishing you. I have no idea how much it is patrolled or how hard they will track you down. If you want a safer route I would say the Ape Atoll course if you can use it, I don't remember the level requirement, It does have monkey madness as the quest requirement though. Otherwise you probably will have to stick to the slower barbarian course :(
  4. Hello all, I am just wondering with my combat stats how difficult the combat would be. Is it very similar to Dream Mentor or do you think the combat is more difficult? No spoilers please since I plan to attempt it without a guide, I just want an idea of the difficulty of any of the combat based parts. I normally use guthans with DFS and whip so getting good combat gear is not too difficult, and I can use any food. I will probably take my tuna and chesse potatos like I do on quests. Taters FTW  I have been away for a while now so am still getting used to RS again  Thanks in advance --edit-- Oops, in case no one can see my stats they are in my sig, forgot to mention that part
  5. If you are talking about the mole underneath Falador then here is some advice. First, the single most challenging thing to deal with is his moving around. Soloing is not hard in the sense of difficult combat, but it is more the mole digging around after a few hits when his hp gets low. Second, he only uses melee attacks and has a max in the 20's. Third, It really is best to go with at least a second person to cover more area faster. The worst enemy is other people showing up with friends and being able to take your kill pretty easily. I personally get too frustrated trying to solo due to other people showing up in the middle of killing it.
  6. Yep, I also kicked one there. I did not check how long it took but over an hour sounds pretty close. All you get is a normal cabbage. I thought the cabbage people were tossing around was the reward, but than later found out any cabbage you pick up right now can be wielded and thrown. You also can just eat them like normal
  7. I'm not on right at the moment, but I would guess go into building mode. Afterwards right click on the stairs and see if there is a build option. It should then ask if you want to remove the room above you I would think. I can check after class. edit --- just got on quick, Go into building mode. Right click the stairs. Afterwards there is a remove room option. That should do it. At least in my house with my staircase there it lists remove room as the second right click option
  8. I am pretty postitive I have gotten my two swordfish trophies with a barbed harpoon. I am almost postive about the second one. I assume that it should allow you to get one no matter how you fish, but I could be wrong. I bet it will take a long LONG time :( I fished at least 2000 fished swordfish for my two trophies. I doubt the shark one is that much more common. Coupled by the fact they are much slower to fish :wall: Good luck with getting one
  9. On why it's slower: The defender gives around +20 to all melee attack bonuses, which increases your chance to hit. This also means that you hit a higher number more often because you miss less. There are many points of view on how exactly it affacts your damage but basicly you hit more often. It gives +5 str bonus I belive, which means you can hit slightly harder. I have heard either 4 or 5 points in str bonus equals 1 point of damage. This might be strength levels though. Simply put a higher +str bonus the higher your max hit becomes. After so many +str points are added you will hit 23 instead of 22 for example. The higher you can hit the faster you kill something overall due to you being able to hit larger numbers. This increases your overall damage per hit. If you can hit from 1-50 damage, your average hit will be around 25 damage. If you only can hit 1-20 damage your average hit would only be around 10 damage. Together you hit more often and hit harder so thus you kill the monster faster. I don't have any actual statistical analysis of how much faster you kill with a defender but I do know others have tested it. You kill the fastest with a defender. With new additions such as the bunyip your need for defense goes down even more due to constant but little attention needed healing. Instead of paying attention and eating as needed your bunyip heals every 15 seconds. Maybe someone else can send you to a thread to get a real good analysis of the killing speed of rune defender vs dragon fire shield but I don't know of one myself :( With a dragon fire shield you only get a large defense bonus and a slightly higher strength bonus. I belive its +7 compared to the +5 of a rune defender. Either number could be wrong, but I know the DFS has a slightly higher strength bonus. Anyways, you don't have the attack increase that makes you hit more accurately. This means you deal less damage overall in an assignment because you only have your weapons rating and your attack level affecting accuracy. You can hit just slightly harder due to the larger str bonus but it is very minor. It's small enough that most people don't really think it matters so much. The +20 attack bonus of the defender is much better than gaining 2-3 str points. One way to look at it is think of a police officer. Would you want to go in with an M16 with heavy firepower, or a pistol and a shield? While real life doesn't compare perfectly it kinda works. With the M16 you can drop someone real easy even in body armour, while the pistol not so well. At the same time you lose your ability to block bullets without the shield. See where this is going? Basicly its armour vs weapons. If something is dead it can't damage you so defense becomes irrelevant at that point. I hope that gives you a basic idea how the defender speeds up kills :D PS --- Sorry about the long explanation. Just trying to give a real good idea of weapons vs armour Good luck!
  10. Alright sorry about the mishap that is the image I am sure was originally saved as a png. If there is a way for you to check it before trying to use the next picture please feel free to do so. Here is a png from a png of the new kurask head. <--- assuming the image above is an original png - un-stuffed - stuffed
  11. starclimber is correct. You NEED all 4 peices for the set effect to work. The armour is nice in general even without the set effect, but you need the helmet, body armour, leg armour, and weapon for the effect. :)
  12. Just my two cents I agree on what the others have said about guthans being fine and about karils being useful for its greater magic defense. Otherwise black dragonhide works just as well. On the DFS vs defender, I realize that statisticly the defender is better but I always prefer to go the defensive route. I don't mind if my kills are slower because I like shields more. The defender is a lot better for slayer because I'm sure the 15% bonus adds up more with the increased weapon strength and attack. Since you will kill faster the extra def is not needed, because a dead monster deals no damage. I like to relax while fighting so killing really fast isn't a priority to me. Once again just my opinion. I say just use whatever you prefer or are more confortable with. Using a defender normally means you heal more due to the chance of taking damage is increased per hit, while your speed in killing also goes up greatly. Simply put you can have a very long and detailed conversation of why the defender beats and shield hands down in most cases. Again just go with whatever you like more. Good luck getting 68 summoning! :D I love my bunyip and hopefully you will too  edit --- I like to multitask while playing, so I feel more comfortable with a shield because I can pay a lot less attention without worrying about dieing.
  13. I have to agree with everyone here. I have already hit 68 and here is how I did it. Already over 600 charms banked :) Use gold and crimson first, crimson may seem expensive at first but it saves alot of time for the exp. Gold are just plain cheap. I used all my green and blue also, but blue are best saved for the hunter cats or the saved for later for the titans. Green i used on ibis mainly because i wanted my levels as fast as possible If you can kill bork daily for his 9 crimson and 5 blue charms. You also get a few green and gold from his summoned friends. If you want the absolute cheapest way only use gold, because everything else costs quite a bit per pouch. Green are about half the exp of crimson for the same cost. Gold and green are easy to get so I reccomend just using all your charms as you get them if you only care for leveling.
  14. Just thought i forgot to check the price at the general store for the un stuffed head :( here is a list of pics, in a second ill crop and stick the stuffed head up ---PNG of un-stuffed kurask head -Weight of 10kg ---PNG of stuffed kurask head -Weight of 10kg Edit -- Another edit :D I just ran to the general store and it says you cannot sell this item, so I don't know if there is an alch price on it. Since I want to mount it so badly someone else could try to alch both versions :) I do like killing them so maybe later i will get lucky and get a 2nd head. These three are the things she says right before it gets stuffed just for fun :D
  15. Alright decided to make a 2nd post to be easier to read. These are taken in low detail so that the inventory screen isn't tansparent. Please tell me if you want a specific size or file format and I'll gladly do it. The head weighs 10 kg, which the guides state 0 and 0.6. I have not yet stuffed it because i want to make sure you get the pictures you need :) Those are the two uncropped pictures. Sorry about the small size on fullscreen images, it appears they limit it to 1024x768 and my screen is at 1440x900. Once you get the info you want I'll gladly do the same for the stuffed kurask head version. Thanks in advance
  16. I have just gotten a kurask head and the current one on tip it isn't the same anymore. :) Also look at my 2nd post. Simply put the weight info is wrong, and the picture has been updated. I don't know how recent it is since the picture changed but after a long wait of killing kurasks I finally can mount one :D Enjoy here is a pick of just the head cropped in the inv If you would like a specific size or anything please ask =) I have never submitted to tip it before
  17. Awesome didnt know that deathdrow. Yes i can read asianboy7o7, but I thought it ONLY picked up iron and steel items. Which meant i thought it only picked up those metal projectiles. Sorry that I thought wrongly
  18. Accumlator picks up broad bolts? Or would i have to switch to iron or steel? I thought it only did those 2 metals I'm very inexperienced with rangeing as you can tell. Mostly use melee.
  19. Thanks everyone :D I shall trade out my body for guthix dragonhide since I do already own that. I shall go make the snakeskin boots since I know my dragon boots dont really help at all. Forgot to add my cape, I wear my quest cape. I don't have a fire cape or any 99s, so is there any cape better right now? I think its the best I have. If i still can maintain a good food supply I shall maybe even try with full range. Is the armadyl set a very big upgrade? If i remember correctly the range attack bonus isn't that much higher than black dragonhide, Although i know that even 1 peice would be nice because I could use glory or fury for my ammy instead. I recently bought my bandos and am trying to save up for a fury again. After that I might look into a peice of armadyl.
  20. Thanks llamster. I guess my question now is does adding alot more range attack help my killing speed enough to where that much def isn't neccesary? I've read some guides that had people swap out def peices for actual range gear like dragonhide. Simply put, if i lower my def but raise my attack at the same time, will I still do just as well? I don't wanna take 2x more hits for a marginal increase to damage basicly =)
  21. I tank them, and it provides almost the same range def as Barrows without the repair cost. It has the same reduction to range attack. I dont miss often enough for me to worry about my range attack.
  22. I am very new to hunting them, its my 2nd trip and my last one I left at around 100 bars. I choose not to stay for hours on end because I also farm and do other things. I do them becuase so far its enjoyable, I get range exp, money, smithing exp, and fletching exp. *edit* By the way I Tank them, so thats why I don't have prayer gear. I also try to have a high range def to avoid taking hits. Just recently I had a person question my setup and then say I "Hit too low". My question is am I doing something wrong? Is there anything MAJORLY wrong with my gear ect. Head, Helm of Neitzot( range def with little or no range penalty) Chest, Bandos Legs, Bandos Ammy, Armadyl ammy(spelling?) Gloves, Zammy vamp Boots, Dragon (yes I know they dont provide any range def but I haven't yet gotten around to getting any other ones) Weap, Rune CBow Ammo, Broad Bolts Shield slot, Dragon sq(not as good as obby or granite but I don't think the small def upgrade will matter too much) Strategy: I kill mainly 73s and 79s, and sometimes food allowing, I'll take on the 83s(right level i belive). I don't try to kill as fast as possible because its more for fun than for crazy money and exp. I super def pot up. My actual kill speed I dont know, but I would say 100 bars takes around 1 hour to and hour and a half. My max hit that I have seen is 21, just hit 74 range so "maybe" it went up but so far nothing new. I feel that i am doing well enough, I can easily survive on B2P alone, and they drop swordfish that also helps me last longer. I bring plenty of runes to B2P ect. The only thing I have not used is range pots, because I normally never have a use for them until now. Still experimenting with the Aviansie. I also do not hit that many 0s in my opinion, maybe 20-25% miss rate at the worst. And mostly i think it's because of my lower lvl of range. I have 85 def. Thanks in advance
  23. Yeah finished my mining level, and I have half of my gold I need for 70 smithing! Woot \ Here's a pic of the gold i have smelted and mined of my 8000 total goal. and also a pic of my mining level Thanks for the support!
  24. Third age Big congratulations on that accomlishment. =D> =D> =D>  Keep it up!
