  1. To add a bit to my previous idea: Maybe if Jagex does introduce new f2p mage robes, they should be dropped by new lvl 30 wizards who can be found near Malingus Mortifier. Each one will drop regular bones, a piece of the new mage set, and random runes. With the mage piece, 1 would drop every time, but not the same piece. Then to wear them, you would have to take them to the head wizard in the Wizzy Tower, who then blesses/enchants them, but he only blesses/enchants the body if you have completed the Dragon Slayer quest.
  2. Just to add my two cents to this little dose of insanity, here's my idea: GET RID OF ALL THE LEVEL 3 PLAYERS!!!!!!!!  MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This would not harm Runescape at all, because then those pure skillers who are so proud of their lvl 3 combat would be knocked out of the game before they could advance a combat level. The bots would also be gone, but then they would just come back and gain 1 combat level before going back to the yew trees. The established players would get to cut yews for a few weeks until the bots get back up to 60 wc, but then jagex would have to GET RID OF ALL THE LEVEL 3 PLAYERS AGAIN!!!!!!!!  MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only this time the bots would be lvl 4 combat, so instead, jagex would have to GET RID OF ALL THE LEVEL 4 PLAYERS!!!!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, if this doesn't appeal, there's always my little brother's suggestion: OFFICIAL RUNESCAPE PKING LVL 3'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who wants to go all the way up to the Wilderness to kill other players when you can just go to the yew trees and 1-hit all the lvl 3 bots? Never mind that you would probably get all the lvl 3 pure skillers at the same time, they would just be casualties of our anti-bot Crusade!!!
  3. While I agree with you on most of this, you left a few things out: Melee weapons have certain strengths against certain armors, so some people like to keep weapons with crush, slash, and stab attacks, i.e. a rune 2-hand, a rune scimitar, and a rune long sword. F2P Mages don't have the Anti-dragon shield to use against dragons; we use them because they are the only available f2p shield which does not hurt our magic bonuses. I use an Air Staff for fighting, but I still have other staves: fire for superheat item, high alch, and lvl 3 enchant, water for lvl 1 enchant, and i will get earth soon for lvl 4 enchant. I agree that we don't need air runes, but I still have a slot because I craft them to sell, and I keep body runes because they do help in combat. You also forgot to include cosmic runes. There are a few items which are still useful even after the quest, especially Silverlight, which is good against demons. You also forgot to add crafting supplies to that list, and i have 4 slots of gems, a slot for chisel, a slot for gold bars, slots for molds, plus slots for cowhide, needles, and thread.
  4. I can think of 2 easy ways to change this so more people can be featured on the high scores: 1. Separate High Scores for F2P and P2P in F2P skills 2. List everyone with 99 in a particular skill separately- This would be better because I think this would take less time to program but would still kepp the high scores as the best players for both F2P and P2P However, it would be nice to separate the Overall High Scores between F2P and P2P so we can see how high F2P players have actually gotten.
  5. I agree that we definitely need more bank space. I've been playing for over a year, and I don't have room for all my combat items and my crafting/mining supplies. And that's after dropping all my random event and holiday items! :x
  6. This sounds a lot like WoW. Anyways, I support as long as this is also available to some extent in F2P
  7. I just used the max hit calcs on tip.it, and noticed something interesting: the max hit for melee at 99 strength using ammy of strength, rune 2-hander, strength potion, and ultimate strength prayer (best available to F2P) is 33 the max hit for ranged at 99 ranged using addy arrows and eagle eye prayer (best available to F2P) is 18 the max hit for any F2P mage above 59 magic using Fire Blast is 16 no matter what else we do to boost our Magic. I think this is a little unbalanced, especially since the way mages are supposed to defeat warriors is using bind/snare/etc. to hold them and then using magical attacks which cut right through their metal armor. However, F2P doesn't actually have any good binding spells since our only one wears off after 5 seconds. In addition, our best spell only does half the damage of a warrior maxed out on strength.
  8. Although I agree that it would be nice to add a couple new prayers after we got the new mage and ranged bonus prayers, this is definitely not the right idea. If it were possible for someone to use a prayer which makes them totally invincible, then that would throw the combat triangle out of whack. Forget mage beats melee beats range beats mage; this would be monk beats all! Unless two people use the invincibility prayer at the same time, in which case everyone just wastes a ton of runes/arrows/pots/time. If you are interested in creating new prayers, try ones which boost specific skills in the same way the current ones boost combat or something like that.
  9. I think that F2P really needs a couple more updates every year than we have been getting. P2P people say that the new Varrock benefits us also, but not in any skill-related way. The new Museum is only for members, and while I enjoy the new look, I don't spend every moment on Runescape admiring the scenery! That being said, here is what I think we should get, though not all at once by any means: More Bank Space- I am a mage and crafter, and I don't have enough room for my melee armor once I put all my runes, magic armor, and crafting supplies in the bank. New Mage Robes- Melee fighters can use any armor up to Rune and Rangers can use armor up to green dragon. That is 7 different levels of melee and 4 different levels of ranged armor. Mages have blue and black robes. There aren't any stat differences, so that means mages only have the 1 level of armor. F2P spells- After Fire Blast, mages don't have much incentive to level up. A warrior's max hit increases when he advances strength levels, and A ranger's max hit increases when he advances ranged levels. A mage's max hit doesn't get any higher unless he is using a different spell. Why can't we get another spell between the Blast and Wave spells? Prayer potions- would be nice if P2P could sell them in F2P.
  10. I agree that f2p needs better mid-upper level wizard gear. However, I think this idea would be even better if the wizard top for the new robes idea can only be worn after completing the Dragon Slayer quest. If you think about it, the warriors earn the right to wear the rune platebody and rangers earn the right to wear the green dragonhide body, but mages don't really earn anything from this quest.
  11. I really think that Jagex should add a better wizard top. Warriors earn the right to wear the rune plate body by completing the dragon slayer quest; same with archers and the green dragonhide body. What do mages receive? A pat on the back and some melee xp. Making this new wizard armor as an intermediary between the regular blue/black wizard top and the mystic robes should not harm the RuneScape economy because there would still be the incentive to become a member and wear the much better mystic, infinity, splitbark... armor. As a back-up, it would also be effective if we could buy a wizard bottom in the Wizard Tower after defeating the dragon.
