I see it as "Well we have this here story, and lots of money to waste. Let's see if it's scientifically possible."

Try putting your shoes in a plastic bag then leave them in a freezer overnight, will get rid of the smell.
  3. Errr, we have both Hungry Jacks and Burger King.
  4. Because clearly that's what's happening. This is definitely a bill that forces other governments to follow the US. It includes foreign sites. They'll try shutting them down, will be denied then threaten a trade embargo unless their demands are met.

    Nawwww, so cute. <3:
  6. I guess since they can't control the world, the Internet is a good as any place to start. Whom ever controls the Internet controls the world tbh. :P There they go, trying to police the world, again. Countries should have no control of other countries, but nooooo, the US just bullies other countries into doing anything.

They prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year in the US alone. Every day in the US; 550 rapes, 1,100 murders, and 5,200 other violent crimes are prevented just by showing a gun. In less than 0.9% of these instances is the gun ever actually fired. In 1982, Kennesaw, GA passed a law requiring heads of households to keep at least one firearm in the house. The residential burglary rate dropped 89% the following year.

If the gun is pointed at his head and he is unarmed, at that point he would cooperate. But if he was in his study and heard something coming from the living room, he could easily grab the gun he has hidden in his desk and confront the person. Hopefully without having to use it. Taking guns away from civilians only makes life easier for the criminals. If you were a criminal would you try and steal from people who may have a gun and be trained how to use it? Of course not, you'd want to steal from an area where all firearms are illegal.

If you want a statistic on gun-related incidents, in Australia since the government's sweeping ban on private ownership of firearms; firearm homicide went up 19%, and armed robbery went up 69%. Sadly enough in the 15 years before it happened firearm-related homicides dropped nearly 66%, and firearm-related deaths dropped 50%. In 2001-2002 the total number of homicides rose 20%. In a 2003 media release the government reported these changes: - In 2001-2002, there were a total of 354 homicide incidents perpetrated by 375 alleged offenders, which resulted in the deaths of 381 victims. - Compared to 2000-2001, Australia recorded a 20 per cent increase in homicide victimisation. In 2001-2002, there were 381 victims of homicide compared to 317 victims in 2000-2001. - In 2001-2002 there has also been an increase in the number of multiple victim incidents. In 2000-2001 there were seven incidents involving multiple victims. During 2001-2002, there were 21 incidents involving multiple victims - 15 incidents with two victims, and six incidents with three victims. - In 2001-2002, there were 15 children under the age of one killed, representing the highest single age group of homicide victims. The second highest single age group of homicide victims was 35 years, with 13 victims. - Compared to previous years, a knife or some other sharp instrument was consistently the most common type of weapon used to commit homicide (36%). The next most common weapon/method was the use of assaultive force (25%). Compared to last year, the proportion of family homicides (excluding intimates) has doubled (23% in 2001-2002 compared to 11% in 2000-2001). Two factors account for this change: - An increase in the death of children under five (mostly infant deaths); and - An increase in the incidence of triple homicides which mainly involved family members.

In Japan, the murder rate is almost 1 per 100,000. In the US, there are about 3.2 murders per 100,000 people each year by weapons other than firearms. This means that even if firearms in the US could be eliminated, they would still have three times the murder rate of the Japanese. Japan’s murder rate may be low, but its suicide rate is over 20 per 100,000 people. Japanese are being murdered and committing suicide at a rate of about 21 per 100,000. In the US, the combined murder and suicide rate is about 21 also.

I do believe someone mentioned people not needing assault rifles (which doesn't always mean automatic weapons) but I beg to differ. There are many sports in which these firearms are required: Many hunters use these firearms Three-gun target matches Camp Perry competitions, especially the Service Rifle events DCM/CMP competitions Bodyguard simulations The US courts have consistently ruled that the police do not have an obligation to protect individuals. Main case in hand is Warren v. District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department where 3 roommates were held captive, raped, robbed, beaten, and forced to commit sexual acts upon one another and to submit to the attackers' sexual demands for 14 hours. FOURTEEN GODDAMN HOURS. That is an actual quote from Lt. Lowell Duckett, Special Assistant to DC Police Chief.

You must live in a great area, most shootings no longer make the paper in my region. They try telling us that gun control would stop the killings, and all I see is easy targets for the criminals.
