  1. Bring on the slaughter!!! (And the claws! )
  2. We got our first split! ...A spirit shield. 606gp ftw!
  3. Event's started - join now if you're not here already (Tmht Ambler3)! Gotten a few kills so far, and some decent non-rare drops (cannonballs, onyx bolts, regen bracelet, etc.). He's dying in about 5-10 seconds.
  4. I've been wanting more bank spaces for ages! For quite some time I've been VERY tight on bank space, sometimes to the point where in order to bank everything to dungeoneer I had to get creative in freeing up space (making a pot or two so I could combine any 1,2,3 dose pots in my bank, alching any dueling rings/games necklaces with only a few charges left on them, making a trip to my house to repair barrows gear so it stacks, etc.). I don't see how anyone who actually trains all their skills and does combat could NOT have problems with bank space. As it is I have very few items for most skills. I've long since ditched most of my talismans, I think Teak are the only logs I have, I keep no raw fish in my bank, I ditched lower level seeds, I have my costume room filled with anything I could put in there, house tabs are the only tele-tabs I have, etc. Most of my bank space is filled up with armor, weapons, and supplies for combat. I'm not one to buy something off the GE to use and then turn around and sell it right back - I usually get all my gear as drops, and then I keep it. I don't want to have to go buy a set of gear anytime I want to fight something - I have a selection so I can tailor my setup to what I'm going to be fighting. I definitely don't have a bank that's full of junk. I have a few useless/cosmetic items, but these are mostly from quests where they are not re-obtainable. Most everything in my bank is either expensive, difficult to re-obtain if I ditched it, or inconvenient NOT to keep in my bank. Over the past months (years?) since we got our last bank space increase, my bank has been gone over many times to try and weed out anything that I didn't really need, but I've still been very pressed for space. I for one am very glad of the extra space!
  5. All the GWD bosses are strong against magic, so don't do that. Also, Torva would not be better as you need magic defence to protect against K'ril's magic attacks. Your setup sounds pretty darn good. I might change out the DFS for a D Def, but you can try those out and see which is better for you - the extra attack or defence. I would agree that you should get a better spec weapon, or if you don't have anything better use the EEE - don't use darklight. You should pray protect melee and make sure you take antipoisons (++'s if you can get them). You'll need more prayer restore fighting him than other bosses as when he slams through your prayer he drains your prayer. Not gonna offer a suggestion for ratio of food to prayer pots and whatnot as it would likely turn out to be wrong anyway - you'll probably have to figure that out through experience.
  6. *EDIT* Nevermind. Anyway, I won't be able to attend (that's 3am for me), but I hope you get some good drops!
  7. Sounds fantastic! Monster hunts are just about the only thing I ever went to anyway. I'll definitely come to these events, and I'd be interested in becoming involved in leading them too. I'll send you a PM.
  8. The quest guide said that killing the waterfiends is helpful, but not required. This seems to not totally be true. I followed the guide up until the point where I had shoved the broken heat globe thing down the hole. It then said to go back downstairs and the waterfiend in the iceblock would be released and I could loot the box for the runes. This was not the case. The waterfiend and box were still frozen in a block of ice. After trying to figure out what I'd done wrong, I finally decided to go back and kill all the icefiends I'd released up until that point (which I had just ignored since the guide said I didn't need to kill them). After killing them all, I went back down and the ice block had melted, freeing the waterfiend and allowing me to access the chest. At this point I was able to continue on with the quest. Anyway, it seems that you must kill at least some of the waterfiends in order to follow the directions the guide gives. In retrospect, I may have been able to skip that part and continue on in the quest, but I would have had to skip getting the runes from that box at least.
  9. I can second this. I just did the quest and I picked that he was an expert on fossilized dung (or whatever that option is), and I forget the other option, but it worked. I think there are quite a few options that work, not just that pair.
  10. Ah, I remember having some trouble with this one too... It's there somewhere, I don't remember where exactly, but just dig around there and you'll find it. Remember you can check your sextant in game to find out how close you are and whether you need to move north/south/east/west.
  11. I've been solo'ing Bandos lately, and I tried whip + defender and it failed pretty miserably. I barely got 1 kill. Whip + DFS is much better, allowing me to usually get 2 kills a trip. This still seems rather pathetic at my level though, but I don't really know what I can improve without getting a godsword. I'd say there's almost no way you will get more than 1-2 kills a trip with whip + defender solo without like, a unicorn or something.
  12. My best clue scroll reward was a 3rd age mage hat. Best PvP drop was a DFS. As for monster drops, you can look at my signature and decide for yourself 8-)
  13. I just got a Rune Battleaxe off one of the goblins (the lvl 50's). I'll let you know if I get any other new drops.
  14. I saw that you added the stealing creation tools to the various planners/calculators, so I decided to check to see how many planks I'd need for my construction goal if I used morphic hammers. I found that the construction calculator (and, I assume, planner - didn't check), was left out when you developed the rest  . This may have already been pointed out or it may be in the works as I type, but I thought I'd bring it to your attention in case you forgot about it. Note: One thing I found is that the hammer won't give extra XP when you're making flatpacks, just when you're making actual items in your house (I hope this is a bug and will be changed so I can still flatpack and get the extra XP  ). EDIT: Apparently it was a bug, Jagex has since changed it so you get the extra xp from flatpacks too. [speedyshel edit: Volatile/Morphic tool option has been added to the calculator. Thank you! :)]
  15. I just completed the quest (Yay! :P ) and I can confirm this. I got hung up for a minute here too. ("Why's this not working? Do I have the wrong bookcase?") Searched the bookcase, then it worked. Thanks for the great quest guide otherwise!!! =D>
  16. I found an error in the Temple of Ikov quest guide. At the bottom, under "Tips and Tricks" it says: "If you need another Pendant of Lucien, talk to Lucien at the Flying Horse Inn in Ardougne. This will only work if you chose the bad side during the quest." This last part isn't correct. Even if you sided with the guardians of Armadyl during the quest, you can talk to Lucien in Ardougne to get another pendant of Lucien. You ask him, "Hey, didn't I kill you?" and he says something like "You can't kill me!", then you say, "I lost that pendant you gave me" (or something similar), and he says something like "Here, have another pendant as a reminder of my power" and gives you another. Anyway, bottom line, you can get another pendant from him no matter how you sided during the quest (so, you could just take out the second sentence from the guide).
  17. So, supposedly the winners of the skillcape contest are going to be put on the first two rows of the pic... When's that gonna happen? (Don't mean to be demanding, just wondering 'cause I'm one of the winners : ) EDIT: OK, read back a few pages and saw other people wondering similar things. So will we be added in the January version I take it? P.S. Cool pics everyone! =D>
  18. I posted this exact suggestion some time ago (titled Kalphite Queen Info, lower on this page). I've been waiting probably about a month or so now and haven't even had a response to my post. -.- Hopefully they'll get around to adding this method to the guide sometime soon.
  19. Here's my entry for the strength cape (untrimmed, for now...) Forum Name: Komodo_Jo (bear with me, I don't have any experience posting pics in a forum post, but here goes) Fun Pic ("Jammin' With Juna"): Now to see if I did it right... EDIT: Well, sorta worked, now how do I make them bigger? I'll try again... EDIT: Oops, that's not it... EDIT: Yay, finally got it \ Vote for me!
  20. I'm kind of in the same boat as you, no godsword, no sara sword, no zammy spear, but having to deal with waterfiend slayer tasks. I've tried using a whip + defender (yeah...don't even try...), a D mace + defender, full veracs, and the Barrelchest anchor. The anchor totally blows the others away. It's slower than a whip, yeah, but not that slow, and hits quite accurately and hard. I haven't personally tried the obby mace + berzerker necklace combo, but the anchor is definately worth considering at least.
  21. Hmm, interesting stuff here, I have a lot to comment on... I always do every clue I get. Nowadays that means primarily just lvl 3's, as I don't often fight stuff that drops lower level than that, though occasionally I get a lvl 2 from a dagannoth or giant rock crab or something. I've done hundreds if not thousands of clues in total, and go through waves of good luck and bad luck. Lately I've been getting good luck; the other day I got a trimmed glory ammy and a gilded table, and then on the next clue got a zammy coif. I don't know that I've ever done a lvl 1 clue worth doing, those you can definately spend more on teleports than you get on the reward, but there is some good stuff there too I guess... Lvl 3 clues only take me like 15 minutes or so depending on what I get, and the puzzle boxes are easy now that I've practiced enough to really visualize how to do them (when I started I mostly just clicked at random for half an hour until it worked out  ). A few of my records relating to what other people have posted: Fastest puzzle box: 1 click (seriously, it was all but solved, I had to move one piece and it was done, I was dumbfounded!) Most clues from one slayer task: 9 level 3 clues from a task of hellhounds (I kept getting after like 2-15 kills! Made it not worth the trek into Taverly dungeon to get to the hellhounds to fight them...) Best reward: 3rd Age Mage Hat (see, they're not just a myth, I actually got one! whoohoo! Now if I could just sell it for what it's really worth... I don't have 100mil worth of junk... :wall: ) In my time doing clues I've gotten all kinds of stuff, including mostly full sets of guthix and zammy armors, a robin hood hat, most of a full set of rune (t), zammy dragonhides, etc. Sometimes you get garbage, but keep at it and eventually you'll get something good. There seems to be a definate difference between clues in that some monsters drop clues with better rewards than others. For example, in my experience, clues from hellhounds and abyssal demons are usually not very good, while clues from cave horrors and dragons are on average pretty decent. Also, the difficulty of the clue seems to affect its reward. I know not to expect a good reward if I haven't gone in the wildy or fought a couple saradomin wizards. If it's just maps and anagrams and stuff, I usually just get rune junk and sweets and stuff. I think Jagex definately should remove some current rewards, such as nails (rune nails are all but useless and don't sell in the ge), and change the rarity of some other items (once you've gotten one flatpacked gilded table, you don't need another...) As for how many steps a clue has, I don't usually keep track, but most of the time my lvl 3s are around 6 steps (not counting puzzle boxes, challange scrolls, etc. as separate steps). Also, has anyone else ever gotten a clue, then gotten the exact same clue again? Or opened a chest only to have the chest still in inventory, then opened it again and it seems to count this as two separate steps? Both of these have happened to me on a couple occasions, odd glitches I suppose. Once I got a map clue for the house in rimmington just west of the house portal. I dug there, got a chest, opened it, and got the same map clue again. I dug a second time and didn't get anything. Dug around all over and never got anything, so I eventually just dropped the clue (another stupid glitch...). Another thing, the posters above me mentioned god book pages now being quite rare. I have also noticed this. I used to get them all the time, maybe 1 every 3-4 clues, and occasionally 2 in one clue. Now I have not gotten one in probably 6-9 months at least, since about the time of the update to TT's this past spring. This leads me to believe that Jagex (accidently?) took them out as a possible TT reward. Has ANYONE out there gotten a god book page in the last 6 months? Good luck to all you fellow clue hunters out there!
  22. Hey, just thought I'd give this a bump so you mods don't forget about it. Is anyone working on this? (I assume you're wanting to test this out on your own to verify, I'd offer to take someone and show them it works except I finished my task of kalphites already. I'll post if I get another task of kalphites so I can do it again) Also, something to look into: On a trip to the KQ before I got the slayer task of kalphites, I was wearing the normal Veracs setup, and had a DDS for specs. I had killed the first form, then was working on killing the second. My spec bar had recharged about halfway, so I decided to switch to my DDS and use up those specs on her (not thinking about how that shouldn't do anything). I landed a couple hits, then switched back to my flail to finish her off. It took me a minute to realize, I'd just hit through the KQ's protect melee prayer with just a DDS... I don't know if this was a fluke or what, but it begs the question, can special attacks hit through protect prayers? Could a group of people kill her first form, saving their specials, then unleash a flurry of DDS/D Mace/Godsword/etc. specs and finish off the second form without the need of Veracs/range gear, etc.? (probably wouldn't be too practical anyway, since if you left her with even 1 HP left after your specials were gone, she'd still be around pounding you and there wouldn't be anything you could do about it at that point...) Anyway, just something else to possibly look into...
  23. I'm surprised that no one has submitted this info yet. When fighting the Kalphite Queen everyone knows that full Verac's hits through the protect from melee, but what not everyone knows is that if kalphites are your slayer task and you wear a black mask (or slayer helm) when fighting the KQ, this also hits through the KQ's protection prayers. In fact, this is even a better setup than full veracs, since you get +15% attack and strength bonuses, plus you can use a better weapon than Verac's flail, such as a whip & rune defender/shield or a godsword. (With a slayer helm, 99 strength, super potted, with piety, and using a whip, rune defender, fury, D boots, etc, I have gotten hits in the 45-47 range) I know this works as I've used this 20+ times (last night I got her majesty's head  ) This should be updated in the bestiary and also something about this should be added to the KQ monster hunting guide.
  24. Ooh, thanks for the quick response. That did it, thanks! =D> I didn't try that one since it said "DO NOT Use Link Below when posting. Use FORUM Links above for posts", but now I know!
  25. Hello, I am finally getting around to trying to get myself a new avatar for the first time since the new forums came out, and I'm hoping someone can help me. I tried uploading an avatar to imageshack and then pasting the link into the spot on the control panel where it said to put the link, but it just gives me a message that in cannot determine the size/resolution of the file. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!
