That's got nothing to do with resistance or imunity or anything, unless of course his nerves don't work properly. The only thing that decides wether something is painful or just there is our brain, it's about how much pain you can tolerate, not how bad it has to be before you feel it. One other way to mess with people would be to take 3 days of upside down seeing and compress it into a short memory, if done properly it would turn the mind reader's vision upside down for three days. Or maybe use negative or mirrored? Or all three?

Archi, that's what antigrav plating is for. There is one thing which can drive almost anyone who is unprepared insane, the tought that you may be the only one who is real and your entire life is merely your mind playing tricks with you. If you can seed that tought in a mind focused on something else, then it will undoubtedly do some damage. Just think Inception.

There are a few things we do know, that proves my theory: 1. Mind reading is the act of reading the current thoughts of someone else. 2. There are certain kinds toughts, sounds and images that are able to drive people insane. 3. There are certain people who are either too cold, calculative or just plain stupid to be sufficiently affected by some or in some cases most of those. 4. It is possible to bend ones own toughts, forcing oneself to think about something, like a theory, memory or nothing at all.

But madness varies more than anything, madness can be what defines your entire being or what you can become, because madness is not senced, it is not fealt it is just survived... or not. Also some people can take way more heat, there's this one Finnish sauna champion, that can sit for over ten minutes in a sauna at above 100C°. Pain is not something we can be imune to to any degree, however it is different how much we can endure it. Psionics is not a fealing, as thus you can be imune to it by encasing yourself in lead.

I'm already destructive enough without psionics, Earth.

The tollerance for madness before one can be defined as insane varies between people, my idea is to stretch Chi's tollerance (like I have my own, though that is purely accidental) far beyond that of a normal person, which means Chi could then technically be mader than most lunatics while still staying sane. Thus anyone reading his mind and facing his madness would consume it, and thus surpass their tollerance. A similiar event would be to upgrade your computer's antivirus and deliberatly fill it with viruses (madness) that the antivirus (tollerance) can handle, and as such if you are hacked, the viruses will spread to the hacker and he, with a standard antivirus, would have his computer (brain) begin to act up and fail.

That's why you need the anti-depressants. And the memory can come from a simulator, you can kill people with your bare hands in the sim then just replay you killing them when you are under attack, just because you know it's a sim doesn't mean the mind reader does, as long as you're not conciously reminding yourself of it.

I'm saying, with enough gory memories, self-control and awareness, you should be able to replay those memories in your mind if someone is trying to read it, and if the memories are bad enough, that defence would actually be a mental counter-attack. And there is only so much you can take, if the mind reader was slow enough to abort you could expose him to, say a video memory of a person being turned inside out while still alive. Or you could actually gather the memory of a feeling, making the mind reader feel pain, grief or anger. Fabricate memories and focus the last enough and you could even make the mind reader angry at one specific person, or grieving the loss of someone who is still alive, upon which sight of them should confuse or even drive the mind reader mad.

No, I meant me seeing tons of horror movies then taking antidepresants to stay sane, then I can review scenes from the horror movies in my head as a defence against direct psionic attacks.

You can't deny the similiarity, though that staff is actually fired using a hidden trigger. Though the technology based off this, which I asume is similiar to the toughtstaff as it is plain, fires energy and has no trigger: But it was just the design anyways, which I sugguested because it allows better balance with accurate firing (you can extend it a bit longer in front of you, making it a little easier to aim) and a big shape at one end to smack people over the head with.

Lee, I know of a weapon similiar to the toughtstaff, except more fit for melee fighting, you may want to take a look at it in order to get some inspiration on how to elaborate on the design. http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Ma%27Tok_staff Also, I might be willing to help you train your psi sometime soon, I would very much like to be able to train my resistance against it, and maybe even use my mind as a counterweapon to drive the attacker insane or even turn him to my side. On that note, I should prabably have SI prepare some really bad horror movies and some anti-depressants.

To clear this up, Resistance is working on a hegemony which is easy on the mod, I'm helping him make the combat calculator fair.

Sad as in the lyrics or in that it makes you sad? If you want sad lyrics then try listening well to these: No Milk today These sometimes make me feel down, depends on what I'm thinking about: Ring of Fire

Actually no, I've tried to kill Earth at least three times now. And Nex once or twice too. I tried to tank the Russians who boarded us. Then I tried to tank a Russian ship. Then I held stealth position, ready to when Ross was being taken by Jen, though he never gave the word to shoot (he actually told me not to). And last I tried to make a prison grenade for you. Going by what I do that I'm not ordered to, I believe I'm the second most violent person on the ship, or third now that you've rejoined.

Dusty, I have that record, during my entire existance in this game, I have never killed anyone but myself (whereas you shot me in the head in the... trid? ...session because you thought I was guilty of Nex' actions) and I have only once done something that allowed another player to kill himself by accident (Earth transporting into the cargo bay I blew open). Actually, not counting zombies and very old robots, I have a kill-death ratio of 0/>10.

Watts actually give you two ways to get to culomb, as long as either the voltage or amperage is known, it is also possible if you know the resistance, but that's much harder. Culomb is often not included because most ohmic calculations asume the power will last forever, unlike what most electrical storage devices allow. And the reason I complain about the system is because the value of 1kt in electrics is unkown, which means it could just as well be infinite or nonexistant.

I don't have any, but if the tech is for generally large robots to be better then I sure could need it for the second scrap bot. Also I need name ideas for the small guy.

Ross, I ill not accept the fact that Culombs can't be used to meassure mass as a reason why mass meassurement should replace it as a meassure of electrical charge. He kept the much more complicated Grays as a unit of radiation, whereas 1 is already far past deadly and decimals don't exist. Which by the way is Coulomb times Voltage divided by mass.

Now there's something which is out of context, since using culomb was for devices where in reality the electricity is the only required fuel, such as the case would be with stargates, were they real. And as the electrons used to determine the charge in Culombs are not the ones stuck in the stable metals, but rather the ones that have been forced into a capacitor or battery and as such are the surplus electrons, the electrons that want to move, it is just the simple manner of finding the Culombs in the battery or capacitor. Let's use the capacitor bank I used in my coilgun for simplicity. Did it say how much charge it could take? No. Did it say the farads? Yes, 10,000uF and four capacitors in parallel, that's 40,000uF or 40uF. Then, did it read the max voltage? Yes, 100 volts. Then it's just the simple matter of multiplying the Voltage and Farads (power and capacitance) and you get 4 Culomb. Was that so hard? No. And to get the Culombs required? Or to find the Culombs required you can use the Voltage which is already known and/or the time and Amperage. To say it in a much easier way: c(F)*U(V)=Q(C¹) I(A)*t(S)=Q(C¹) Capacitance times power equals charge. Current times time equals charge. ¹Damn copyright symbol.

You just reminded me of something, Retech. I gotta grind down any sharp edges on the scrap bot that it may accidentaly stab or cut me with, then I've got to give it a happiness protocol with a hug function. Prepare to be bodyslammed by a biped slab of metal the size of a vacuum cleaner.
