It is a 2D representation of the 3D representation of the 4D shape called the tesseract. If it was a 3D representation and you were to move around it, it would appear to loop through itself as you moved. I'll post three .gifs on the Back Room to explain.

The fourth dimension cannot be time because a spherical object with a circular timeline would just be represented as a sphere repeatedly doing nothing in the third dimension, a four-dimensional sphere however would appear as a single point, grown, shrink back to a point and disappear. I give you the second most basic 4D object, the tesseract: If you want to argue any further on the fourth dimension being spatial or temporal, post that argument on the Back Room.

If that were true, it would imply that the fourth-dimension is not subject to the rules shown by the first three dimensions. By moving a circular shape through the 1st dimension, you would have a line grow and shrink, by moving a sphere through the 2nd dimension, you would have a circle grow and shrink, however by moving a circular timeline through the third dimension, you would have nothing. The fourth dimension must have a set of rules wherein a perfectly circular 4-dimensional shape would appear as a growing and shrinking sphere in the third dimension. Icu, that's why I said shifting and not movement. Movement implies that you are able to do so freely, shifting implies that you force the object to be displaced, like pushing something.

Yes, movement along the tenth dimension, though that is quite a bit farfetched don't you agree?

Movement along the fourth, fifth, sixth... dimensions, in this case the fourth.

In case that I'll start up that under the name of the 'Wycliffe project' aimed at increasing research speed and use my free weird tech for dimensional shifting.

I know you do not have the entire America, still though, do you know how much oil America consumes annually? About 1,039,045,755.5 tonnes. Do you know how much it produces? About 487,123,890 tonnes. You need me.- 2070 Hegemony
Dung, annoy me and you go back to the 1800s, we both know you need my oil.- The Back Room

Due to confusion earlier, let me change that and put it more formally: 50 Cash (1 PP) 12.5 Tech (0.25 PP) 40 Weird tech (0.8 PP) 25,000 Manpower (500 PP) +0.5 tech -0.5 Offensive skill to any form of military. Used: 26 Tech 250 Cash 25,000 Manpower Gained: 26 Weird Tech Helios solar powerplants. Left: 50 Cash 106 Weird tech 25,000 Manpower That's yesterday and today.- 2070 Hegemony
450 points, or 2 levels and 150 points in weird tech. Is it possible to continue old science projects for which the technology exists using just manpower and money? I am of course talking about Nikola Tesla's project at Wycliffe Tower, wireless power across long distances. Rocco, this is day two.- 2070 Hegemony
Here's a folder containing images of the planets and the largest moons to scale going by planet: Earth = 100cm², moon: Moon = 100cm². Beware, gas giants are scaled after normal planets. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21066254/Hegemony.rar- The Back Room

How about writing down all the mechanics in the OP so we can read them in context? Also the OP does not contain the list of player nations.- The Back Room

I spot a target for the NPCs. Never mention nukes, research and anything regarding the military in the same speech, especially not if you follow it up by saying you'll be going on a conquest. - 2070 Hegemony
