I take that course! Its a really fun course, except i think we are really behind because we are just covering the Allegory of the Cave ( My Favorite!!!) and the teacher gets offtopic at times. Are you doing all IB in Junior and Senior year along with AP? Yea! Oh you must be taking IB then. So is Theory of Knowledge as interesting as it sounds? Anything else you can tell me about IB? It's going to be tough, I can tell already with my three AP classes as a sophomore (d'oh). Where do you live? Add me on MSN, we can talk IB ;) [email protected]

Why, I do believe I've just found a friend :) Sounds like me...down to the whole, "I hate kids that smoke at school," part. Yeah, I think I enjoy it. Homework is now fun, but I really enjoy classes that I get to debate in and give my opinion in such as my AP Government class or my AP Human Geography class. Some classes are dull, don't get me wrong, but there are some I really enjoy. My junior year, I will get to take a course called "Theory of Knowledge," which bascially discusses how we learn, which I am very excited about. it sounds very interesting.

This is weird. On a recent NUMB3RS, there was an episode in which information data was saved within an image. This sounds like the exact same thing...just with a virus. Bizarre. Perhaps TV really DOES influence some people.
  4. Box modeling? Is that when you split the faces of polygons and extrude? I think so yeah. It's where you start with a simple object, such as a box or a sphere, and use the knife tool / other tools to morph it into what you want. Point modeling is also called Polygon modeling, btw. :) I see. You're scho schmart! ;)
  5. Read down a few threads. I just posted one yesterday ^_^

  7. So does the company that you work for specialize in computer animation, or is it a media advertising firm that has capabilities for 3D, digital artwork, etc...? Or are you self-employed?
  8. Aha, you little rascal. ^_^
  9. Yeah I am. Wowow, i totally sold him a sig ^_^. Post some photos please, Nadril..and some of you renders while you're at it. Glad to see you 'round.
  10. jabraulter sometimes shows up as jabrulater or jabratler  :x :x
  11. That's too much work  I knew that the flames should have cast greater highlights on the girl, but I guess I just decided that the healing spell was what cast the most light... I dono. I quit. :x Thanks for CC everyone.
  12. Ohhh, you described that texture shading a whole lot better than I did. It seems you actually understood what I was trying to go for. Thanks for suggestions. As far as making the tutorial separate images, I would have if I hadn't been lazy. I would have had to host like, a billion pictures, which takes some time ^_^ Perhaps I'm just lazy.
  13. Yeah, that was a bit tough to explain. Okay, imagine it is nighttime and you are standing on a gravel road. Take a flashlight, turn it on, and place it on the ground. The light will still go forwards, but the tiny rocks in the road will cast shadows. I know it is tough to explain. Just look at it this way. The more rough and bumpy a surface is, the more shadows it will cast when light is applied from the side. It's hard to explain. ---- Anyhow, Paw, I'm not offended form your posts. Don't feel bad. To be honest, I don't make my backgrouns first unless they are inside and determine how large my character needs to be. Second, I think I am one of the few who colors along the way. I get so anxious to see what the character will look like colored, so I do it then and there. And lastly, I think you've got me wanting to make an actual Character Creation tutorial. It would be fun for me and I think those really beginning wouldd get a lot of help from it. I didn't really see your first post as a flame. Apology accepted ;) BTW, Paw, I read your comment about not being able to visualize the picture when you are zoomed in. What I do is make a complete sketch of at least the character on paper with pencil, then scan it in. It's so much easier than trying to control a mouse with a tiny one pixel pencil, anyway. Then I scan in my sketch and, I mean really, trace over it. I konw that I won't make mistakes that way, and most of the time, I end up adding smaller details after I have scanned it in. I don't see this method as being bad. I mean, you drew it, there's no harm in tracing it is there? Thanks for comments and critiques, everybody. They will go into my next tutorial over Character Creation. :P
  14. Hey, some great stuff you've got going there! You know, the 3D modelling/animation industry is growing, and I bet at your skill, you could get a great job for a medical company. The market is great for modeling diseases and medical equipment. I know a guy who models for Lily Medical Centers who is only around 26 years old. The crits: Sunglasses set 1: Great modeling down to the last detail. Did you include the screws on the nose pieces? Just curious. Nice work here. Sunglasses set 2: Perhaps just due to lack of a good light source, these are not as realistic as those in the first set. Again, great modeling, and WOW, those glasses have steep bends behind the ears. Sunglasses set 3: Very sleek and great lens color. However, in the second perspective, it appears that the frames are connected to the ear pieces. I think it's just the view, though. Sunglasses set 4: Very nicely done on these. The lenses almost appear like those that change into sunglasses when exposed to the sun. I can tell on this one, more than the others, that you actually DID curve the lenses to follow the coutour of the frames. Great job. Sunglasses set 5: Nice job with the ear pads. I noticed in these that you even modeled the inner wire of the nose pieces. Great attention to detail. They remind me of librarian glasses. ^_^ Sunglasses set 6: My favorite of all your glasses models. I love the thin wireframe style and great color choice. It appears to me that you slacked a bit on the nosepieces, here, and just created simple polygons at the last minute and threw them on. Sunglasses set 7: Nice job here. Standard glasses like the rest, but I like how the slope upwards from the middle. The color fits very well with the style of glasses. Corona Set Looks pretty basic as far as modeling goes, but I understand that it was probably a preliminary model that you sent to Corona to decide on. Sorry you didn't get the spot. That would have been very cool ^_^ . I'll crit more later, but there is a horrible thunderstorm right now and I am turning the computer off. Until then ^_^ BTW, I use Maya :) EDIT: Okay I think it has passed over...it was just for like, 10 minutes. Cellphone Great job and nice skinning on the buttons. Are the earphone/charging jacks really bevelled/lofted like that where they 'sink inwards?' Just curious. NIC Definitely stellar job on skinning, here. Simple modeling, I think, but the chip makes it look very complicated. Nice job. Crane Very cool idea and very well modeled. You should animate it being folded...not necessarily by a hand, just folded. Very cool. Overall, some very nice modeling. Perhaps you could PM me some of your other work?
  15. WOW! Close, indeedy. Well, nice work by both. Bot were very different, but they were judged fairly. Here's a cookie you two can split ^_^ *gives DH and GS a cookie, half eaten*
  16. I was bored and have been told that my sigs are decent, so I decided to create a tutorial. Rip me....I rip your face. NOTE: I actually make my backgrounds last. I chose to ahve people create it first because I have done it on some sigs. An example would be the "Room Sig" I created for monkey933 (seen as PIXEL ARTIST in tutorial). Just do what suites and is easiest for you.

  21. We're working on it!! Right now we're working on a techno song about the XBOX game Starwars Battlefront. I can't take much of the credit though. I only helped put the tracks together. My friend did most of the singing.
  22. I don't have a clue what you mean. How can two spaces form time? And How can 2 planes form a space. And how can 2 lines form a plane? And who's to say that if there's a 5th dimension then there aren't infinite dimensions. -Take two points. Connect them to form a line. -Take two lines. Connect them to form a plane. -Now take two planes and intersect them at a 90 degree angle. They will form the third deminsion or DEPTH (space). On a standard geometric graph, one can see an X-axis and a Y-axis. WIth two intersecting planes, you have an X, Y, and Z axis. -Now take two spaces and interesect them...to do this, it requires time. I have a book entitled Hyperspace and it talks about the fifth deminsion and BEYOND. It goes as far as the 10th and nth deminsions. It's very interesting, but you have to really be concentrating to understand it. Interesting topic. I'll have to watch this one.
  23. Yea, there is a vid that a French group did and I saw them on the Discovery Channel. Very cool indeed. They must be in-crazy-shape.
  24. R&B, man, R&B. Haha, but I have to make a song with those too. That would be great. And I hope ridiculous means good
  25. Oh yea, our school fintlers out Myspace, Facebook, probably Purevolume, too. Oh well, the Apple Pie can wait I suppose. :D
