  1. The biggest issue i see is the work on new items for each race. The result will we worth the work if you ask me. For those who say Runescape is not WoW and Runescape stands out because it's only 1 form. Tell me, if Runescape is supposed to be about human race why not just take all the bosses in-game: General Graardor, Commander Zilyana, Corporeal Beasts, KBD, KQ etc...and replace them with human "monsters" and see how much fun that would be. Like i suggested Michaael, the ability of the races will only be a SMALL bonus and i updated the hide tags and modified the abilities so that it will have smaller effect on the game. It also will cost you 100,000 GP every time you change a race. So i think if Jagex can manage to make this work, i suggest that they go for it.
  2. If you look at the hide list of races and see their special abilities, you will see it's nothing special. Icyene: A chance to do a dart fast attack every 1 minute Vampire: +1 Hitpoints more regenerated every minute Aviansie: Armadyl protection at GWD Orc: Bandos protection at GWD Dwarf: Two new items to smith Human: Let's you generate +1 prayer point every minute Werewolf: Gives +2 more damage to your max hit. Elf: Access to Prifddinas Crystal mine. Two crystal rocks and you rock respawn every hour. So as you can see, the idea i have worked on is not so big advantage. That's okey, your entitled to your opinion. But first of all, our character does not have to be a Avianse to do quests. Quests can still demand a human form to do them, so we'd have to change back to Humankind which will cost us more GP (Remember i suggested 100K per race change). But Runescape is not Wow. Wow does not own "Race characters", no game does. But ask yourself, if the game should be about human characters then why is there so many races in Runescape? Please use paragraphs. I know this would be a new thing for Runescape and a bit hard to adapt. The ability from each race is not very big advantage so it should work out for game. Like i said the race transformations will be mostly for appearance and the ability comes as a small bonus. There is a difference between class and races. If you choose wrong race you can change back, but you will only receive the ability of the race that you choose in first place. Example if you choose Elf, you will get granted access to Elfen city mine. There you can mine the two Crystal rocks, which respawns every hour. So if you later change back to Human race, you still will keep that ability.
  3. Yeah Zilyana is a very speedy. I read that where Lord Drakan (Vampire lord, very powerful) lives (Meredich) was once the city of a king and queen possibly being Icyene. And that the Vyrewatch is Icyenes that were experimented on by the vampires. If the King and Queen is alive is unknown. Anyhow dealing more damage to vampires seems unlikely, because i don't they had a advantage of vampires or else they would have defended better against them. But i will add as Icyene ability: Have a chance of a fast attack every minute. Example Godsword is very slow, as a Icyene you will have a chance of hitting as fast as a dart with a Godsword every minute. EDIT: Zilyana is very agil, and with magic or melee she is very fast. So that's another reason why i thought of the "speed" ability.
  4. Yeah, I like that idea. If it's only a cosmetic change it doesn't really matter, but I really like the abilities idea  Man i am getting water in my mouth thinking of becoming a Orc for the Bandos protection. That would really be awesome :ohnoes: :ohnoes: :ohnoes:
  5. I agree with this. If Jagex were to implement your idea into Runescape, people would simply choose to transform into the race that has extra abilities that would help with whatever task they were trying to accomplish. For example, if someone were training to 99 mining or smithing they would become a dwarf because they could achieve their goal faster then if they were a vampire or elf, etc. Also, adding this new aspect might make people even more obsessed with training efficiently, because most people don't like to waste money. An example: Person1: Bobby, come keep me company while I mine. Person2: No can do, that would be a waste of my time. I'm in elf form right now because I'm training magic. Person2: Will you still be training mining next week? I plan on transforming into a dwarf then to train my mining. First of all if you don't like the races or can't be bothered with it you can choose not to. But let me tell you some things: 1) Monkey madness quest requirred "Monkey form">So that's 1 race 2) A quest about goblins (Don't remember it) needed Goblin form>So that's 2. So far everyone have bothered to transform into those races to do the quests. But i never suggested that majority quests should have a "race requirement". I just think it could be good to present SOME quests that needs you to be a certain race. It's not maddening to change back and fourth. How do i know? Lunar, ancient and normal spellbook. That's same thing that would be with races. Only it will cost you 100K. The races will give you maybe a small ability. As i said: Aviansie should give you a "Armadyl protection", so that you can kill Aviansie monsters without need of Armadyl item. Orc race giving you Bandos protection. The abilities should not be a big advantage, the Dwarf having access to more items to smith is just a mere idea from me. For all you know the items could be only two more items that is not much different from regular smithing tabel. It's up to Jagex to make the ability as small and good that it won't make a big impact but will be used. Well i was thinking, the races are mostly for looks right? So i was thinking a quest would let you decide what race you choose. So what i thought was that FIRST time you choose a race, that will decide what ability you get. Example. I do a quest: I gotta choose race. I choose vampire. I get "Regeneration" ability (+2 hitpoints more per 1 minute), then later when i change to Elf i do not get the access to Crystal mine in elfen city because i already have gotten a ability.
  6. Good luck. Irish accent is FTW! Instead of great they say "Graat". lol it's so FTW  Hope it's not scotish i am thinking of. Luck of the Irish hasn't done well for me in the Fight Caves or in clues...So you can rule trying that one out  Well Irish probably are graat! Add me in Runescape "SirHemen" okey? I'll come on now and try help you so please add me. As i try to play less so i might not be on some other day.
  7. u forgot mine o.O You know first i decided a vampire ability could bite a monster all the time but at same time have a "need for blood" because vampires need blood or they will be weakened. But then i thought: 1) If you can bite a monster and get heal, then that would be overpowered 2) If you get weakened because you don't get no blood your hitpoints will start falling, but then i thought that could be bad too (What if you go for 2 minutes off computer) So i decided, vampires can regenerate so why not get only +2 hitpoints regeneration more? That would be more nicer if you ask me.
  8. Care to elaborate? Then you will be human forever...........and ever! Me too! I definitely would love to be a Orc. It would be FTW! Wanna know why? Bandos GWD>Loads of players (Tons) 40 KC = Full prayer recharge Orc race = Bandos protection Result = FTW. \ I wish Jagex considered it. I agree
  9. Barrow defender does not fit at all with the current storyline but a Dragon claw does when it came to the quest "While guthix sleeps"? Tell me why? Dragon claw was released through "While Guthix sleeps" in which the player character choose along with represent of Saradomin, Armadyl and Guthix to go after Lucien and his helpers. Then BOOM Dragon claw and platebody was introduced through the quest. First of all just because Dragon platebody was expected does not mean it fit the storyline. Even if you could explain that, you can not explain Dragon claw. A item does necessary have to go along/fit the storyline but if it does then it would make good sense and be better. Sliske seems to be the mahjarat that gave the barrow brothers their powers. It is said that Sliske is a sly and smart evil diety, and that's what the "Stranger" in the barrow brothers story seems to be. I don't know what you mean about Cyclops coming from east, but i can tell you this is Runescape where monsters are released in a area in Runescape. And based on my suggestion "Evil cyclops" a strong miniboss will be released in Warrior guild through a quest (There is already Cyclops there!). Also to get Barrow defender you can only loot a chest called "Sliske's chest" only two times a DAY! To get Dragon defender you get the chance for it as drop through Cyclops lady. She will let you kill 10 of them a DAY! How is that not challenging? As a player who loves "Way of the warrior" both of those sounds great!!!!!!!!! NOTE: Sliske's chest is not "Come and loot", it should have a trick to it. Also Barrow defender is not overpowered, it's a high level item. It takes time to get it and it's not tradeable and you will need a very hard quest to get it.
  10. Good luck. Irish accent is FTW! Instead of great they say "Graat". lol it's so FTW  Hope it's not scotish i am thinking of.
  11. Yeah it definitely would be fun. And like you said they should present race for race through Quests. That way they can work at with 1 race at time and that should work out well \ [hide=Aviansie with armour][/hide] They should try to consider this. Could work well to be honest, they just need to deal with some of the problems that it can cause.
  12. I done over 10 clues where i got only about 500K.... Congratulations on it. Wish i had that luck for ONCE
  13. First of all: Class - A type of role ( A healer, a warrior, a archer, a miner, a fisher etc) Race - Human, goblins, Elfs, Vampires, Werewolfs etc So they are obviously different things. No you just change races and that's all to it. Quests that require human character or might require a other race can be done by easily going back to NPC that changes your race and you change back to whatever race you need for the quest. When it comes to items, they need to re-work it for all races that will take alot time but for humnoid races it could take less time so that's possible. No a elf will just respawn where ever he or she choose to respawn at. And you gotta go through the quests even if your a Elf. It will take alot work, but noone said it would be easy. There will be advantage over advantage. Many players care about looks so many might go for Icyene or Elfs, while others will go for usefulness. We got Lunar, Ancient and normal spellbook. Do we use only 1? No we use all. Same thing would be with the races. They all will have good and useful advantages, Dwarfs giving ability to smith more items. They might be ugly and short but they are they rock at mining and smithing! Elfs - giving some sort of magic Avianses - Giving Armadyl protection Orcs - Giving Bandos protection It will be expensive to do races also. Because it will cost you a big amount, and that should be about 100,000 GP everytime you change a race. So it adds up fast. I don't know about you, but i would use all races either if it would be 1) For the ability 2) For the appearance.
  14. Being a other race should not affect defences from my view. It should only grant a ability or advantage in someway.
  15. What the hell is going on? Why is everyone keep getting good rewards in clues. That's 2nd 3rd age i have seen. And i have never ever seen a 3rd age clue before.
  16. Not hard for me to imagen a Avansie in full Bandos. But you gotta be aware that races could have restrictions and that could make it easier to implant them into game. Yeah i get that. But all i am saying, if it's possible then they should try to work on that once they can. Would be a great update for sure.
  17. OK some info: Jagex already have plans to make it. They recently announced Players Gallery and in it was a Dragon kiteshield concepts. They mentioned the kiteshield in their news text which means they are working on it and planning to make it. So from my view you should leave it to Jagex as they already have a close eye on it. Source 1(News text): http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=2088 Source 2 (Dragon kiteshield concept by a player): http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=959 So from here all there is left to suggest for this shield is the stats and i am pretty sure Jagex would manage that. The Dragon items (most of them) stink.
  18. Vampires and Elfs have humnoid forms, so how can even that not be possible?
  19. Don't worry you can change back to a other race for a good amount (100,000 GP is OK if you ask me). Also reason i say it wouldn't be much realistic because if there is not realistic we could end up having a tomato as our character lol.
  20. Yes things are tied to our only character race - humankind. But if Jagex planned human to be only player character in beginning they definitely might have other thoughts now. Races amount should not have anything to do with players using Races. If you choose to be a Avansie you should be able to go everywhere. It's not like "Oh i am a Aviansie, i can't go Varrock. I gotta go to Armadyl elyrie..." Races implemented into Runescape could be possible. I can't say for sure it will because the technology could get in the way. I have no idea, but how about: 1) A Aviansie course 2) You pay money to turn back into a Human and you level agility Good point, but possible to put few races into game or they can do it like the White knight quest (Don't remember the name): Where we had to change into a female to do the quest. They can do same thing with Quests, you have to be a Human to be do this and that quest.. Yeah that sounds goods.
  21. No i think it's should be possible to wear whatever armor you wish to wear. Like someone and i myself have stated, it will be alot of work but great results once done. Hey you just gave me another idea for Aviansies. Being a Aviansie will grant you Armadyl protection in GWD!
  22. Vampires can't teleport, so i think it would be less realistic if you could do that. But hey Fairies can teleport  Don't want to be a Fairy huh? I didn't add Goblins because they are: 1) Ugly 2) Stupid 3) Most of them are weak But i could add them i guess if that's your wish. Also like i said it will be a big work, but the reward later will be worth it. It will make the game very nice. I can definitely see a Avansie wearing a Torag helm
  23. Races of Runescape belongs to Jagex, and i don't see how it will get to similar like other games. Because there is tons of games with races, it's not "We started it first, so if you do it then you stole from us!". As for bat teleport, Vampires can't teleport. Sure they can teleport into bats, but that would be pretty much it. I personally think it can work. Like i said, it would require alot work but when it's done it could be either: 1) A truly amazing update 2) A disapponting one Hopefully Jagex will work well with it before they release it. When it comes to Icyene smithing, that seems right but we can agree Dwarfs are the true smithers. So therefor they should have that ability from my view.
  24. How is having ONLY human characters unique? We might not have other races to choose as our character, but we do have the characters.
