Well for a first that's pretty good. You just need to choose some better colours which allow you to shade convincingly, at the moment it's just pillow shaded. Oh yea, don't use a symmetrical design, copy + paste + flip = bad

That's quite good, actually. The bow isn't that bad, work on the anatomy of the person first. The right arm is much longer then the left, and add detail to the hands, don't just use circles.

You can mess around with the Preferences, like reduce history states etc, those eat up RAM like the hungry caterpillar I tell thee.

Photoshop 7 is still the industry standard, it does everything you need anyway, all the other following versions have things that we probably won't need like the perspective tool thing. I had it for a long time until I got the chance to upgrade, so I thought I might as well.

Dude that's awesome! Only crit I can find is that you can make the end of the 'sleeve' on his left arm look like its covering the arm, not a part of it, as it looks like that now.

So is this supposed to be a pixel/graphic hybrid? It looks ok so far but you know the pixel parts will really stand out against the smooth background. And liquid doesn't fall totally vertically. And the tipped-over vial looks wierd too.

Be more adventurous, maybe put a face behind that mask?

85% of Photoshop's resources you don't need for pixel art, and I personally don't like using it for pixels because I'm weak-willed and will probably try sneak in a gradient or two. #-o

Np, there are other methods, but this is one of the quickest and still gets good results

Filter -> Extract fill in the edges of the render with the paintbrush and fill it in with the bucket tool when you're done and press ok then use the history brush to touch up the edges

You're still saving in .JPG, DON'T!! And, actually LOOK at the RuneScape pictures when you draw something, look at it for a while and interpret it yourself into your drawing. But don't trace 'cos everyone can tell.

what program are you using?

if you want to put a render on that then it should be behind the lens flare.

Don't rely so much on the preset shape tools. Use the pencil tool and perhaps the line tools once in a while. You will get much better looking drawings.

I actually quite like it. Theres a certain charm about it that I like. Ok it doesn't follow the rules of sig making, but I think it's nice. O:)
