CAPTCHA is circumventable. I'm more inclined to say bring back the old 'aggressive' randoms - river troll, tree ent, drunk dwarf etc.

I don't see how using minigames etc is going to make RWT/botters go away. There is no way that a minigame is going to provide faster cash/hour or exp/hour than the methods that are commonly RWT'd (dragon bones for prayer, stuff like that) for several skills. I mean, sure, by all means, we can look at ways to increase RC/agile/mining but that kind of detracts away from the point of the skill. They aren't meant to be "easy" to max, and to take away the grind is to change the dynamics of the skill and, changes a historic factor of the scape game play.

Quick update. One task so far today (248 Dark Beats for a mountain of XP). Had some super luck, getting 100 silver ore, 21 fire talis and 18 fellstalk seeds (dem RDT drops). Yesterdays tasks:- Tzhaar Fire Giants Mithril Dragons Blue Dragons Got an effigy, which gave 91 cons (rage), 93 Summoning, 95 WC and 97 Farm. On top of the farm, I had just done an assist, so 60k farm xp for 30 seconds work was pretty nifty. Lamp spent on Summoning (surprise surprise) for 48k more xp. I have now got the seconds banked for 97 summoning, which is where I will stop using lamps and such, and focus on prayer whilst hoarding enough charms for that smexi cape. The only other things worth reporting are below:- First Stryke (Fremmy Elite task) Completed (As it turns out, I was right and you can only kill it with cannon if you don't have fire cape/the ability to kill them without unlocked) Keyed that floor. Spent 5 minutes DC'd and had a [cabbage] start, but meh, gotta start (again) somewhere.

Moral codes will define whether or not you cheat. You won't because you think it's immoral, others will, because they don't think it's immoral. I also never said I won't attempt to tackle it because of this. The reason I wouldn't if I were not to, is because of disenchantment in the process - which is a seemingly prevalent issue, as displayed by this Jiblix video. Why go to the effort when Jagex won't? The fact that myself and - many - others are out putting up cannons to catch FM bots, quoting messages regarding death and antifires running out attempt to break bots, and then report them, only to find the bots there days and weeks later gives people little motivation to keep going. Some will, and power to them, but others won't. We are provided with ways to help, but where is the support on the back end? I didn't say it's fine, I said it's not my place to question their opinion that it's fine. No where have I said it's RIGHT. I said it's WRONG for me to question them for thinking it's RIGHT. As a footnote, the moral code conversation arose referencing the reasons behind choosing to bot, not whether or not botting is bad. I am able to sit and claim botting is bad, and that they should be punished without questioning the morals that have led to the decision to bot. Sadly, those actions are not simply a question of morality, but also ethics and legality.

Almost all of the buyables have cheaper alternatives. The problem is for most, is that increases the grind, takes a helluva lot longer and wastes time I could spend on making cash or other skills (whatever). You are paying for convenience.

Yeah, but I thought there could be more to it than all of the items not being ROW exclusive since me and at least one other person here have gone massive amounts of kills without getting some of these things even once. That's statistics, and that's luck.

Aren't most of the aforementioned are from the Rare Drop Table, which isn't ROW exclusive, but made "more accessible" by wearing a ROW?

Sadly, I have previously done that but alas, after the second or third time, it's kind of on the user to get their act together and fix it up without me having to highlight the exact words. I'm not going to hold hands through fixing up rubbish posts. MY STANCE is quite simple. If you are going to bot, you deal with the consequences of those actions should they arise. It is not for me to call you out and scream from the heavens that you are an evil doer and should be punished. Heck, I want you to get caught, I want you to be punished, but if it's in your "moral code" to cheat, then who am I to question that? I can't tell you that your code is wrong, I can disagree with it, but to outright say you're wrong? That's quite over the top. Even if we were, I fail to see relevance in this. Whilst I enjoy this devolving into a "ll0rt is an evil bastard" thread (gotta love the attention afterall), this is of absolutely no relevance to the thread, and given that my posts have been disappearing lately, this is where my involvement in it ends. If you have an issue, feel free to PM me about it. I'll happily discuss my apathy towards to Jiblix issue, or towards the botting issue here.

I bought Jack of Trades yesterday, having done some calculations and figuring that it's better than the 2.5% half hour boost of wisdom (not to mention the accumulated xp in the time between now and having been able to buy it). So for a 2 minute daily "ritual", I'm now scoring quick xp (same formula as strange rock turnin anyone who wants to ask). Usually will go towards agile/hunt/rc, today I was feeling summoning, which was probably a good thing. So, shockingly, I have been slaying again (brb big surprise). Tasks today:- 90 Vyrewatch 95 Jungle Wyrms 246 Gargoyle 235 Waterfiend 158 Abyssal Demon SURGE TASK for ~60k mage xp before I ran out of fire runes. Got a vecna skull from Wyrms, ~550k mid, will test in in GE at the end of the week probably. Been a pretty lucky day... Effigy #1: 91 fish, 93 fm, 95 craft, 97 herb Effigy #2: 91 wc, 93 herb, 95 cons, 97 fm Effigy #3: 91 summ, 93 fm, 95 smith, 97 farm Effigy #4: 91 fish, 93 summ, 95 fm, 97 craft XP Gained via effigies:- Fish: 30k (261k from 92) FM: 75k (13.2m xp) Woodcutting: 15k (14.2m xp) Herb: 50k (98k from 97) Summoning: 35k Farm: 30k (713k from 97) 250k xp, pumped straight into skills. Disappointed that I have yet to find an effigy I have been able to do all 4 steps of, but that's life. Dumped the 4 dragonkin lamps onto summoning for a sweet 175k xp leaving me ~640k from 97 with ~400k xp worth of charms banked. Once I get 97 (either through effigies and alike, or having the charms banked, which I can buy the gear for) the xp is going to start going into other skills (probably prayer and rc). Total days charms (excluding ADs which is still in progress): 27 192 35 40 Also did some floors with EOE:- 3rd one which I've obviously stuffed the shot for. Passed 200k tokens again, leaving atm, considering possibly buying a shield, but, with 2 chaotics nearing repair time, I'd say that idea is going to be on the back-burner. I think there needs to be a change the sign-up mechanism that is currently used. A quick look at the account creation method:- This is ridiculously easy to circumvent (as mentioned by itrollzu), and contains none of the (almost) standard "spambot" (although in this instance we're just talking bot) filters. Now admittedly, many systems have been broken before (Captcha) or are circumventable with human involvement (well that's kind of obvious) meaning that we won't stop ALL the autoers, but if you are able to stem the flow using such a system (and I don't mean one of those questions that says "are you human" because 10 seconds of scouting and some code changes and that becomes void) just a bit, you have started making an indent. We'd all run out of display names at the same time.

The problem with talking about morals and doing what is "morally right" is that morals are not universal. Things that I deem to be morally upright (based on my personal code) can be vastly different to those of any one else (and based on the quotes coming out, and the attitudes being demonstrated, they are). So citing moral corruption based on the immoral behaviour of someone else is hardly fair. It is clear that some of you see botting and facilitating RWT to be "immoral behaviours", but personally I couldn't care less. Allusion. inb4commentaboutmebeingatroll

Cue the "bring back the old days" and the "Jagex does nothing" rants. Consider it a good thing that they've sent in a JMod to start muting - temp/perma/permaban - these guys. I realise it is of little true value and probably is more suited to be characterised as a stunt, but wiping out some, even for a little is better than letting it go on without any "recognition" (which is debatable, but that's how the anti-Jagexers would like to think).

T'is all relative. Now the prices of everything are low so it's just as bad as before...at least for me :L Had a very blah day, lots of bank gazing, lots of watching football while being logged in. Three tasks today:- Greater Demons Warped Tortoises Hellhounds GDs: Effigy (91 wc, 95 fm doable, ragequit at 97 summoning and not being able to find a battlefield. 44k Summoning xp) Warped Torts: RDT drop of 29 torstol (hello 29k herblore xp banked) Hellhounds: Effigy (91 herb, 95 WC doable, a second 97 summoning, super rage mode engaged. 36k Mining xp) As it is the first of the month, I went along to do Troll Invasion, finishing 20 waves without any major dramas. 64k xp from the reward tome, which was spent on mining. "Major" movers XP wise - 62k Slayer xp - 100k mining xp - 44k summoning xp - 20k crafting xp (leveled up to 85) I'm now splitting up slayer with some agility. Been periodically spending time with friends at BA, so with a quarter-full horn, I'm hoping to get extremely close to 80 agile (275k off, with 1/4 being ~250k). Will be nice to tick Agile off the "skills that aren't 80 or over" column. [/piclesspost]

Had a 3 or 4 of them at 90 slayer. Wasnt mad.

Updated my goals post, to reflect 99 slayer and summoning goals. Very much hoping to have these by the end of the year, but no doubt at some point I'll spit my dummy and move onto something silly like crafting. Tasks today:- 179 Mutated Jadinkos 16 Mithril Dragons (canceled velds) 90 Vyrewatch (canceled abby specs, dags and wyverns) 210 Fire Giants 178 Warped Tortoises 192 Waterfiends (2 effigies) 109 Iron Dragons (canceled abby specs and bloodveld) 120k Slayer XP before the irons task. Undecided whether to mage or melee it. Effigy #1: 91 fm - 93 cons (assisted) - 95 herb - 97 smith (assisted). Spent the dragonkin lamp on Hunter (25k xp) which got me to 76 Hunter (all 76+). Usually I'd spend it on Summoning or Prayer, but Hunter has been bugging me heavily. 65k from that effigy. . Effigy #2: 91 Cons (assist) - 93 Summoning - 95 Farm - 97 Woodcutting Dragonkin lamp + random event lamp (30 seconds earlier) for 31k prayer xp. 106k xp from that effigy.

It's actually trying to get people to use proper reasoning and methods of debate (although most of this seems to be arguing for the sake of arguing) when addressing others opinions rather than simply twisting what they have said. Or, they could just be palming off the accusation as absurd?

:jelly: Turn your cannon into the set @ GE, saves 3 spaces Dependent on the state of your poh (we have a similar cons level so I'm working out of the idea of mine), you can store your void gear and the Herby Habitat outfits in your POH (armour case).

:shock: Gunna go set up my cannon then to kill one for Frem Elite, then I'll leave them. No fire cape = no having to worry about getting them on task.
