A long, long, long...time ago, I was a young, hip, and happen Runescape player with a dream. 99 in all F2P skill. Now, I'm college student praying when I graduate I'll get a job.
It's been a while since I've came here to blog. I've been semi-retired for about 3 years, only really ever logging in for the holiday events. And man, has RS changed. And so has my life too. But I've come back with a renewed interest in the game and I feel like blogging about it. So, I'll re introduce myself.
I'm Meghan. A 21 year old college student living in Chicago but studying Economics in Ohio. I probably have one life goal, and that's to live better than I already do. So for now I'm hoping to graduate within the next year and a half, get a job, and move out of the crap hole my family and I are forced to call a home. But enough about that. In Runescape I'm a lvl 87 most combat player who love participating holiday events because I love the costumes. I like to skill with the purpose of getting a random event for more costumes and fun emotes and stuff (oh and for get to 99).
There isn't much about me really. I play video games, hang with friends, etc. But I'm gonna run down a list a major (or semi-major) life/RS event incase you peeps still remember me and was like "What, were did she go?"
Life
- Got into college, college started kicking my butt. Started off as an engineering student, but changed my major to Economics at the beginning of this year.
- Lost a family member recently to cancer
- Got robbed. They took two TVs and about $1000 worth of other stuff. So now my moms looking into moving by the summer or before I go back to school in August. And things may be looking good. I really hope so.
Runescape
- I am no longer on the hi-score. And everybody and their momma is getting skill/completion capes. Like WTF!
- My account got hack and they cleaned me dry. But it's as much as my fault this happened.
- Got some lvls with update and such. And I ended up joining a Rev hunting clan.
So, this blog is pretty much the same. Well no. I'm really just gonna be blogging about stuff I do in RS and how awesome (or not) my life is. I'm still trying to get to 99 in F2P, but it's likely at one point I'll become a member for a little while. Still, that doesn't mean this blog is gonna be dry and stuff. I'll be having fun, posting rants, and doing crazy stuff. Hmm... I'm thinking I might even start a RS Flash mob. Any who, I'm about to get ready for class. But I'll upload my current lvl and stuff later on.

I agree. Runespan has updated a skill that was in dire need of it. I sat at 39 runecrafting for 4ish years before really considering training it to play GoP. Then Runespan came and I hit 50 in the first hour I was playing. And it's semi-AFK character makes it easy for me, since college demands some attention from me too.
One last question thou, do you suggest training magic in Daemonheim since it's a self contained..."world" that actually allows you to craft chaos runes? Or should you just just cough up the money to train. I'm sitting at 52 magic and I'm trying to get people's opinion.

Just what is the runesphere?
A Distraction and Diversion that appears randomly in the Runespan, basically the Runespan equivalent of a shooting star. Players can team up to work through its many layers to finally get to the center for XP rewards. Just like you get stardust from stars, you get rune dust from rune spheres which you can trade in later for XP (10xp per dust).
So is it safe to assume it's a members only D&D?

On another note, does anyone get randomly logged out of RS while in Runespan? Maybe my computer isn't hardcore enough to stand it.

You are never too late to start playing. With that said, I don't know much about clans, but like the guy said before me feel free to add me, and I'll help anyway I can. I don't play as often as I used to, but I got 7 years on me.

Basically the topic title. I lost my shoes and would like another pair. But I can't seem to find him. I looked west of Varrock, and I'm sure I'm over looking, but I can find his house. Can anyone give me a better location, like what his house is near by (air altar, etc). Thanks.

True. But Disney is lazy. They aren't going to get in the way of Marvel's movies a lot since they now are making film and have these idea with films we want to see.
That is my opinion in the matter as well. I already said Disney probably just wants the profits. But you can never be too certain.
Disney wants to be a monopoly. This is a guide/model that help you become one.

I got 70 in all my combat skills. So I'm moving on to mining. But because i still have food in my bank, I'm going to train up strength until I run out. I'm also putting the goal siggys here just so I don't have to do it again. I might move them to them later.

True. But Disney is lazy. They aren't going to get in the way of Marvel's movies a lot since they now are making film and have these idea with films we want to see.
In all honestly, I believe Pixar is the new Disney. Toy Story 1 and 2= Lion King 1 and 2 (in terms that they were two good movies that has less than good but still better than most sequels). Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, etc. As long as Pixar does their job, Disney can market. Besides that I still want to see the Chilbi Studio new movie Ponyo. Miyazaki is the Walt Disney of Japan in my opinion.
The problem is with superhero movies is kids want to see them - Dark Knight was a Hard PG-13 and it did well - watchmen - a masterpiece - was a hard R and tanked - comic fanboys alone cannot support a flick for it to thrive. Outside of Punisher and blade - I cant think of a marvel property that needs to be RWell unless they combine the Square Enix Characters from Kingdom Hearts with Marvel and make either a Porno or a VERY gore-filled Movie, I shudder to think they'll ever make it past MA +15.
Though with Disney's funding it will be interesting to see the outcome.
I think Marvel can do well with Kingdom Hearts if they can mature Disney characters in a way that isn't like WTF. And even if they delete Disney characters in all then Kingdom Hearts can be a good movie (the game is actually a bit mature and deep outside the Disney element.)

If anything it means marvel will have more money to make movies and can distrubute better. I mean Disney have a way with getting stuff out there. It's just that I'll only watch Pixar and Chibli Studio movies. Marvel and Disney made a smart move. Marvel needs some money. Disney can't make movies well any more. It's a win, win situation to me.

For African-Americans who care about themselves it is offensive. But it hard for us to convince the outside world it is when we use it all the time. Most African-Americans you see today are either what magicmanmax said or those who moved up so high on the social ladder they leave others behind, which I don't blame them. It gets to the poing where you want to. A general rule of thumb is not to use it AT ALL. beisde when some people like myself use it, we mean it, not as a joking friend manner but as a hateful way that we associate you with the worse of our kind. Aslo with all the stuff happening today it's best to not being up the word, no matter what race you are because you are likely to seem rasict.
It is offensive no matter how you us it but because my people have turned to word inside out to make it not so other people try to us it too, thus we become unfair to them when we get hurt by their "harmless" use of the word but we turn around to our so call "homie" and use it on him. Now that's just being stupid.

Jagex is a little out of touch but not because they aren't trying. many factors go into why these updates came to be but they are trying to fix it. You can't expect a perfect game. if jagex was to turn everything back to old Runescape were the wild is the wild, no Grand Exchange, done away with Bounty Hunter and everything that was pre 2007, you'd find people who will then complain. We can't expect this game to be perfect... Give it time. Instead of wondering what this year is about wait and look forward to the new year. they are trying to listen. we just need to help them a little more...Or if you don't like the game just stop playing and come back when you feel like it.

A quick update.
I got 70 defense, 47 prayer, 67 attack, and 49 woodcutting. I am now fishing so I can have enough food to get 70 strenght.

Do bankers count as items? Because I'd like to have private ones stationed wherever I choose. I can get the items myself.That sounds nice. I like that idea. :thumbsup:

At the moment I'm thinking I'll place an altar inside Elvarg's lair, where you fight her, but with a little catch; the more players inside the lair at one time, the longer the limit each player has on using the altar. For example:
1 Player in Lair: Altar can be used every 1 minute(s) per player
2 Players in Lair: Altar can be used every 2 minutes per player
3 Players in Lair: Altar can be used every 3 minutes per player
4 Players in Lair: Altar can be used every 4 minutes per player
5+ Players in Lair: Altar can be used every 5 minutes per player
This puts a reasonable limit on the numer of players fighting Elvarg and should ensure that you can solo, as well as group efficiently.

Also, since this thread is becoming a bit popular, should I create an RSOF thread for this idea? Might add a poll or something :P
The only problem with that timer system on the alter is say that you're soloing and, as so often happens, some noob comes along to crash/leech/whatever. Now he's just doubled your prayer restore time without actually aiding you in any way.
There is always gonna be a problem when trying to add stuff. While I agree with Orioles I think it's not to much of a problem. To even get to this point you'll need to have done both quest. You can't be that much of a noob to done both quest and then just sit and leech. Since the quest is probably geared to level 80 and above F2P (rough guess) my guess is this place will be cworded already if it catches on and 9 out of 10 players would come here to get the drops. Just make her aggressive so when a player does come in they will get attacked so no one can really come in a leech. Also players have a way of getting other players to leave, I've seen it so I think this works fine.

Lets say in two years Jagex celebrated their 10th year anniversary for the whole month of January by releasing a tradable item in RuneScape for both F2P and P2P that allowed you, the player to have an unlimited quantity of ALMOST ANYTHING in the RS world so long as they had it (like an amulet or ring).
But the catch is it only drops one week out of the month and no more. It could only be used for one day in the month of January and in certain holidays or event thereafter decided by Jagex, but will continue to be tradable. Jagex will also limit how much of a rare item you can have (like one party hat from this item per cycle).
What would be the unlimited amount you would want from the item and how long would you actually keep the item?
For me there are 3 things I would consider.
First, would be 50k or more iron or coal ores. Id then sell some when January is up and or use it in skilling.
Second, I would make the item give me all the holiday non-tradable collectables I missed if it can.
Third, one Blue Party Hat.
For me I would keep the item for as long as I can.

Yo! I'm Polarbearblu. I was semi-retired player who only came on during the holiday's after 2009. Then I got some renewed sense and desire to play after I tried to log in and couldn't. I did after 2 attempt and found my account was hack. But it's whatever. Right now, I'm suppose to be playing attention in class but meh...
