  1. I think this is a great idea. I guess if you are still looking for suggestions here is mine.

If a player dies fighting Risgad instead of being teleported to Lumbridge the player is taken to Port Sarim with full health with the messenger and Sir Issdhat.

    Player: What happened?

Messenger: You were nearly defeat by the hands of Risgad. But Sir Issdhat saved you.

    Player Option:

#1. Oh thank you Sir Issdhat. I owe you my life.

#2. How?! I thought you couldnt pass the barrier.

    Option 1 dialogue:

Sir Issdhat: My life you do not owe. But the people, you must save them. Do you wish to try again?

    Player Option:

    A. But of course

    B. Oh no, not yet. I dont think Im stronger enough

    Option A dialogue:

[hide=]Player: But of course. No one makes a fool of [insert name here]

Messenger: Even if your name does a good job of that?

    Player: WHAT?!

Messenger: Oh, um, NOTHING! Quickly, gather your belongings so we can go.

Screen shows showing all the items Sir Issdhat saved for you. You pick what you now know you need and everything else will be placed in the bank, granted you have enough space. Otherwise he will keep it for later. You will also be asked if you like to access your bank. Then you teleport back and the fight starts.[/hide]

    Option B:

[hide=]Player: Oh no, not yet. I dont think Im stronger enough.

Sir I: Oh dont be a fool! Otherwise, we would not have called on you to help us!

Messenger: Please take a moment to think about it. We NEED you.

At this point you can talk to them again to go back and fight, or leave and do everything else but fish in Karamja. You have to finish the quest. But you can go off and train. When you return and talk to them if you decide to go back Sir I will be generous and supply you with food to fill whatever spaces is in your inventory if you ask.[/hide]

    Option 2 dialogue:

Player: How?! I thought you couldnt pass the barrier.

Sir I: Risgad has a bad case of monologues. When he defeated you he went on and on about how feeble you were to him and how powerful he was. Little did he know he lost his concentration and dropped his barrier.

Messenger: Sir Issdhat ran in and saved you as you were on your last leg. He was also able to recover MOST your items.

A screen shows an item you may have lost. This uses JAVAs random function to pick what you lost. For example, you may have and says lost 5 swordfish because Risgad was hungry, or lost one rune warhammer because Risgad likes to collect things. Chances are you wont lose a weapon. But repeated death result in higher cost. For example, if you died over 3 or 4 times you have much more of a chance to lose weapons and armor.

After that it shows player options.

    Player Option:

    A. But of course

    B. Oh no, not yet. I dont think Im stronger enough

[hide=]If you pick A then you would follow the dialogue above and Sir Issdhat will ask you if you need food or potions. If yes you pick what you need and he will supply either 5 lobsters OR 2 strength potions saying that is all he has. You can not receive both. If you lose a weapon but decide to go back to fight Sir Issdhat will offer to let you use an addy scimmy, a magic staff of the rune of your choice, or 2k of steel arrows. But it must be returned (Risgad will drop the number of arrows you borrowed from Sir Issdhat when defeated). If this item(s) is lost to Risgad you can still borrow another one but must pay 2k for it. The price increase by 1k for each time it is lost. Also, Risgad will be more likely to take it the second time around. each time you die it will show what you lost and the second player options above.[/hide]

Thats my take on it. Otherwise I fully support this! I would love to see a F2P boss.

EDIT: While I love just about every drop here it seems like a lot. however, there are drops I think you should keep and others you don't need. When I get a chance to i'm going to see what I can filter throught ( I almost don't wanna) if that's okay with you.

  2. My recent blog post shows why I haven't been reading. And sorry about your members. You could go to Target for a prepaid 90 day card. It was 22.50 when I went. But considering it's cheaper to pay with paypal or even a gift card...

By the way, I was looking for monsters with rune drops. but it seem too dangerous to go out and kill greater demons for a full helm... dang revanents. So when do you actually start school?

  3. There is one thing people seem to forget. Even with incentives or no incentive there are people who skill to 99 in every possible skill not for glory but because it completes the game. For example, the only way to fully beat a game on a platformer like Okami on the PS2 or Wii is to collect every collectable, buy every weapon, unlock all surprises, do all the side quest, beat all the bosses, have access to every place, and have as much coins as the game allows you. These people are few in population but do exist in Runescape as well. And since the game is always changing, their joy comes not from skills even in combat, but of completion of the game, knowing it will never be completed.

  4. Thanks Ilufyou. You should still definitively go beat some white knights. They are cool but I need a monster than wont be as aggressive. And I like the drops. Best behind Giants for a F2P. Also thanks for the advice ElChris. Ill try it. And thanks Kaida23. I hope you get to 99 mining.

So lately Ive been slacking. By now I would have been at least three levels up in attack by now. But Ive been a little lazy, plus I had to study for the past three weeks and set one day aside to take my math placement test for school. But I plan to get on the ball. Even with the two days of orientation for school I will take this week to get in gear.

  5. Holy blimp!

Did anyone notice the new animations from the new animation pack 1? I know this is a little nerdish but its kinda cool. Actually very cool. It feels realistic when my character is fighting and the knight is fighting back. Its so fluent. Up until the death. And my rune scimitar looks good. But enough about that.

    66attack.jpglevels.jpg

Since I now have a level 66 in attack, I am 4 levels away from 70 in each combat skill I am trying to level to 99. Almost there.

  6. Its ok... but I'm still waiting for my Lithuanian worlds..... and thats what, like 5th in line? :-#

I actually want to see a Lithuanian world. Why, i don't know. Can't speak a lick of it...

I don't get why they don't just do Portuguese... What's the difference between that and Brazilian? :?

For one thing the words. Surprisingly not every word spoken by Spanish speaking countries are 100% the same. Second you got dialect. In China, Northerners speak different than Southerners, which also result in different characters that sometimes almost look the same and mean the same thing. An example would be teng and tong. Both are mandarin and both mean pain, but the characters are a little different. Northern Chinese use teng and Southern Chinese use tong. Plus China has 56 different ethnic groups and more than three ways to speak (Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghainese, etc.) The most popular is Mandarin and the Han ethnic group makes up 94% of the population. Maybe thats the same with this. Jagex is more popular in Brazil than anywhere else I suppose. Problem is Brazil isnt considered an actually Spanish speaking nation from what I learned. They speak Spanish there yes, but also French.

  7. I definitely thinks it's not anything to do with Inventing etc. Jagex have been listening to players over the years, and I'm sure inventing wasn't mentioned a lot. However, the mention of time/days has always cropped up. Perhaps the tweet from RSDev could be pure coincident, but is more encouraging with this idea. On the other hand, the icon isn't symmetrical, and a bit elliptical, this could be just Jagex's latest trend with the UI icons, or could be linked to Clans and Clan Chat; not sure what would need its own tab though in this case.

Voicechat - move towards older audience, but unlikely ;) Maybe it's an IRC network?!

I also think that Achievement Diaries did not need their own tab...especially since it nudges the Inventory tab slightly to the right in Low Detail.

The inventing part might be true but members are able to craft toys to play with. I think at some point they might consider it. However, I can definately see time.

So I was 90 white knights away from defense level 65 when I ran out of food. So what do you do when out of food? You buy food or make your food. So I went fishing, and instead of hitting level 65 defense I hit 67 fishing!

    level67fishing-oops.jpg

I return back to go train after 200 lobsters and no more than 10 knights in I get pulled to a random event. After the random event I take a genie lamp and get 500 craft exp, enough to give me level 51 crafting.

    [hide=]Randomeventlock-1.jpgcraftexp.jpgCraftlvl51.jpgcraftlvl512.jpg[/hide]

Some white knight later I got 65 defense. Today was a good day.

    65defense.jpg

  9. Only problem would be which Spanish? There is more than just one way of speaking Spanish, but I think they should base it of the Spanish spoken in Spain minus the vosotros, that's just archaic :/

When I was in Spanish I was told by my teacher there is actually an organization or group of people who make rules for the language that is agreed on and then taught in school internationally. he said this because the next year there was a small change in a type of Spanish Snytax (I was in Spanish Language 4) that he applied. But yeah I agree with you on that. If they have serves in Spain, those would probably be the only ones carring the vosotros because it is commonly used there.

  10. Next language is Dutch... can you believe that? All of us want Spanish

    Spaniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish

I would love a Japanese and Korean server personally.

Jagex would probably rather put in a few Mandarin Chinese servers than Japanese or Korean ones just because of the large amount of people that live in China.

But Korea loves their MMOs. Anyways, Korean or Mandarin would probably get them the most new players compared to other languages

If they do put Mandarin it probably won't be for those in China so much as those around the world including the US. China is becoming a superpower but most the country people farm. True new aquire wealth has gotten these people TV sets but it would be a while before we see Mandarin, especially since Asian language is based off pictures.

And considering they blew off Spanish for Portuguese which is a close subsitution Korean is or Japanese is more than likely next. And if they consider those will then they'll consider Mandarin as even Japanese are learning the language. Why I don't know. All I know is if they do put any Asian language there is no way any of us could use those worlds to have better training spots (like for Ice giants) useless we took a class and/or can read it. They aren't going to use pinyin for that useless they attack it in a memebr pack.

Sorry Mandarin Chinese Language II and Chinese Culture got me loving talking about this...

  11. I wasn't really trying to complain. If I sounded like I did, I didn't mean too. I was just wonder consider that everything Jagex did after 2007 was to please everyone. I was wondering mostly what the F2Per thoughts on PvP was and if any still believed Jagex should consider new quest for them.

FunOrbs in Jagex free online gaming site almost like addictinggame.com, orcrazymonkeygames.com. All the game on Funorbs however, are their own creation I believe.

i was pleased by the december 10 update :?

I actually don't mind the December 10 updates. It was probably at the time a good way to stop RWT.

I honestly hate the mindset that some p2pers have about F2P getting "nothing new". If it is a separate game in its own right from Runescape p2p, then they deserve there own updates. I don't get why members complain about f2p getting updates anyway. It benefits both sides because what f2p get, p2p get as well. It kind of pisses me off how all these people downgrade f2p so much.

f2p should get quests, updates, etc. because they deserve it just as much as we do. Granted they won't get these updates as often as members do, they still have the right to some new content. When Guild Wars 2 comes out, they are still going to focus on Guild Wars, even though it is an older game and might not be as good as the original. Its because they are catering for all players.

I'm glad Jagex have given f2p some new updates these past 2 years, and I hope they give them some more. You guys try and be f2p for more than 4 years :x

I agree with you some. I mean, just the idea of passing on old quest from members that don't require new skills could work. Or even opening a bit of a new land that is actually members would be good. But F2P RuneScape and P2P Runescape isn't a separate game. F2P is like a free trial, or rather the game. P2P is the extra content exclusive to paying player who want more of the game and can afford it.

f2p should get quests, updates, etc. because they deserve it just as much as we do.

Sense when did f2p pay $6 a month?

But Great_one has a point. F2P is in some point suppose to be an incentive to P2P. But like I said in the first post maybe for some odd reason they can't afford $6 a month. Maybe mom and dad is too cheap or life is too busy for them (who are older) to play so offen like member for $6 a month but they play once in a while. I'm sure those players would like to see a new quest, even if it takes a while.

Are there still F2Per complaining about that? Not realy I see more members complaining about f2p getting updates then f2p whining for updates.

I have seen or rather heard that too on the F2P worlds when P2P log on them. I wonder what is up with that?

  12. I wasn't really trying to complain. If I sounded like I did, I didn't mean too. I was just wonder consider that everything Jagex did after 2007 was to please everyone. I was wondering mostly what the F2Per thoughts on PvP was and if any still believed Jagex should consider new quest for them.

  13. Remember back in 2005 when RuneScape was good old RuneScape one year fresh from its classic. That was the year I joined and the year I imagined that after getting the high level before convincing my mom to play for members. Now fast forward to December 2007 when they too out all the goodness of the wild in exchange for honest and fair playing. That was the time I finally decided to join the forums. Much to my surprise it was like Y2K and believe me I read post where experienced players were at a uproar, newcomer were very happy, and wannabe newbs were annoying everyone. Members were pissed because they lost something, free players happy because they finally got new content and they debated long into February. Now flash to the year 2009 where I finally get to my original target level 80 as a F2P and now instead of burning Jagex for taking the wild, the newcomers now experienced players are burning Jagex for the player vs. player content as members.

So far we have seen a wave of new ideas almost all targeted at PvP content for the game. And its getting on some peoples nerves. But while they are complaining enough PvP I have to wonder about the F2P. Jagex is trying to fix a problem that was a solution to a problem that was a solution to a problem. We took the wild so well give you minigames. Minigames arent the same thing and not as fun so we give you PvP worlds. Then somewhere along that path a problem come up so they add these different worlds that now have bugs they are trying to fix.

While players are saying that new content doesnt fix the problem of a now nonexistent wilderness could there be different reason as to why they are doing this?

Back before the changes I remember hearing a lot about hoe F2P doesnt get new quest. I also heard that F2P shouldnt get new quest and members told them to become P2P for the fact that no new quest is a incentive to becoming one. It makes since but now I have to wonder if Jagex is making all this not only to compensate for the lost back in 07, but to avoid that no new F2P topic.

Before you flame me hear me out. In he past two years everyone has seen new minigames, and for members, skills and quests. In fact the new summoning skill made me a little jealous and I almost asked to get a paypal account just to pay for this game. But somehow I feel F2P are okay with new members only content. Why is that? Here is what I think:

    1. Minigames are a temporary fill for the void of no new F2P quests.

Of all the minigames in RS 3 are F2P. And guessed when they were introduced? Thats right, during or after December 2007. This minigames, like quest might have you earn certain levels to play and give you interesting a sometimes good items for mastery of playing them.

    2. Skill capes

Now you might be wondering why I said skill capes. Well in F2P you really have no purpose of getting an 80 attack expect for sense of accomplishment considering by then you have done every quest. Now with the chance of earning skill capes and minigames you might as well max out to 99.

    3. Prepaid cards

This honestly makes it easy to become a member with out putting a credit card down for $6 every month. You know how some kids and teens get allowance to spend on whatever but parents wont pay a subscription to something? Well there you go. Kids can go to 7 eleven to by a 30 or 90 day card. So you dont feel the need to become on because you will always have to option to. It takes always the exclusiveness to being one.

    4. New content is PvP and effectively to some extent also for F2P

It seems like Jagex just isnt making new quest for members like they use to but new content for everyone. The agruement use to be that member always get new stuff and free players dont. Now with Jagex trying to make PvP as perfect as can be F2P dont really have to complain because whatever members gets they to some extent get. They really dont have a reason to be jealous.

So I was wondering. What do you guys thinks. Will Jagex soon forget P2P thanks to PvP over time (by forget I mean blow them off with stupid and boring quest to spend more time "perfecting" PvP)? Will F2P ever get new quest? Are there still F2Per complaining about that? Where is everyones focus in RuneScape now?

Edit: At first I realize I didn't make the first quest clear.

  14. ACT 1: SCENE 1:

    whiteknightinvasion.jpg

For what seem like the past few weeks I have been fighting and killing monsters to raise my Combat level. A little while ago I was a level 78 fighting Ice Gaints when a level 98 came in on me and four other people. Looking at our level he told us that it would be way better to fight Moss Giants. An hour conversation would soon follow with him eventually convincing me to go fight them in the wild. However after 2 days, 1hour a day and 5 different revenants attacking me in the middle of combat I search for different monster. This led me to a white knight invasion.

But just why would I fight White Knight? Well by the way things were explained, and that now make sense to me, I earn more exp with the same amount of food fighting monsters half my level. For explain, with one full inventory of food I could earn more exp fighting Moss Giants than level 80 beasts or Lesser Demons. You earn exp for what you hit and how hard you hit.

Now I love Ice Giants. They have low defense, big bones, good drop, and usually there isnt many folk fighting them, actually none on low populated worlds. But because they are 13 level above half mine Im not effectively earning the most exp I can. I need to fight monster no more then 5 levels above or below me.

So this is why I fight White Knights. Despite the armor, they have good drops, good training location, rates at which they regenerate is good, close to a bank, and stores. The only problem is quick access to food. But these guys even drop food. So no worries. In the past 1 ½ to 2 weeks I advanced 4 skills levels and 1 Combat level. Plus with the new notes sections and special calulators on here I know how many to kill for the next level, and I can keep track.

The follow photo is the armor and weapon I use to fight with.

    equipmentRS.jpg

I could go right to 99 from my levels now but that be stupid.

So Im going by milestone. First target levels, 70. With the expiation of mining, I will train all my stats until 70 starting with combat. Once combat is done I will move on to fishing and cooking. Next will be mining to milestone 80. Then smithing to milestone 60.

All Combat related Milestones are below.
