  1. Yo homie! This blog is old, and I'm reviving it. So if you're reading this skip these first two page and head on ova to my new-ish intro. Or if you want you can read all this stuff, but eh...

    New Start, New Intro

Or skip this whole mess and just jump here.. It's mah new blog, in a new place.

[hide=]Somewhere along this blog I will forget to update but reach my goals. And somewhere along life I’ll earn a degree in Aerospace Engineer. Which will come first? I don’t know but if you’re reading this you are my audience.

    About Me

[hide=]My name is Meghan and I am an 18 year old high school graduate on my way to Ohio State University this fall. I will be majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Astronomy. I do activities just like any other young adult. I play soccer, hanging out with friends on occasions, events in the city, videogames, TV, computer, etc.[/hide]

    About me in Runescape

[hide=]My name is Polarbearblu and I’ve been on adventures since 2005. I’ve done every F2P quest, have access to 3 guilds (last I checked), and as of yesterday I have a Combat level of 80. Things are going good so far.

In my early days I was a lonely newcomer looking to play the game and gain fame. Of course when I got lost around Falador (at the time I didn’t know it) and got killed by a guard I found out this wasn’t a quick and easy play. But with hard work and a lot of mining I found my way around and soon became one of the many players helping noobs who begged for change the bank (note: I never did such things, I was proud to earn my little 300gp and invest my soul into selling bronze swords).[/hide]

    Reason for the blog

[hide=]I worked hard to complete each quest and feel the since of accomplishment. Every attack level, defense level, strength potion, and swing of my steel was to kill the vampire at Draynor Manor. Every coal ore I mined before the Mining Guild was to make new weapons (sadly I sold coal too so there is an even bigger gap between my mining and smithing than already in the game). And then the unthinkable happened…

Jagax changed. You see I had completed every quest and I was intended to train until level 80 so I can do some good old fashion PKing. Every since I was a level 45 in the wild I never went again because my computer froze while I was on tip.it on to find I was getting a melee beat down by a guy 10 levels higher. I died. That was my second and last death (later I would return and almost kill a guy for a runebattle axe but he ran once he found out he couldn’t kill me. He attacked me first). But as I was training my combat and miming/smithing as of December 10, 2007 Runescape in an attempt to fix Real World Trading took out the PKing in the wild and limited trading. What the heck was THAT?

While I was looking forward to PKing I wasn’t upset with the changes.

“…now is not the time to be whining and complaining for what's been done to be undone but the time to start coming up with ideas (that are feasible) to adjust the new updates to improve the game for us players while helping Jagex win its war on RWT.” – Maunglord

But for some odd reason I didn’t take advantage of the updates. I just continued to mine, got bored, and stopped. Somewhere between 3 to 6 months I quit playing to focus on getting ready for college and school. After a while I came back but for no more than a month at a time. Two months ago, an idea hit me. I would earn 99 in almost every skill as a F2P.[/hide]

    Goals

[hide=]So by now you know that I want 99 in all F2P skills as a F2P. But with 15 F2P skills I decided that would be a little much. Possible, yes. Will I do it? No. However, I will attempt to 8 F2P skills as a F2P and never becoming a member. Now why would I, or why have I not become a P2P. Well I have many reasons why.

    1. I had just got a checking account

    2. I don’t have $6 a month

    3. Runescape didn’t have prepaid cards like WoW did

    4. The only 7-eleven I know about is downtown. I’m not going downtown just for one.

    5. I’m going to college.

    6. If I buy a card for 30 days and only play 2 days I’ll be po’d. etc

I can sit and try to come up with reasons all day. Including why I would.

    1. More content.

    2. Members always get new quest.

    3. I did all the F2P quest

    4. Access to all minigames

    5. Easier to level up and make money

    6. Prepaid cards. etc.

But the number one reason why I would not become a member is because...

    I’m Cheap.

I could do better thing with 6 dollars. That and as a college student I’ll need it. So as a F2P I will get 99 in my highest skill, starting with combat.[/hide]

Join me as I work to my goal for that sense of accomplish. As check my guide to see how I get there. You might find this as a nice little guide too. But mostly just a blog. And thanks for reading![/hide]

  2. SO if combat is linked to summoning, people who are skillers will not be interested in summoning?

No, I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think so. Or you can't say all or majority of skillers wonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be interested. I think people will interested in summoning for the simple fact that it is a new skill and something the can yield great reward. Wither you just want decent levels or 99 in all you can, you will be interest in summoning in some way. You may love it because of its combat. You may not like it because itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s another thing you have to worry about. You may only like it for its art concepts and creativeness but never try the skill because you may be going or attempting to do something else. Even if you just want to do mining, crafts and such you could still find summoning pretty interesting. A skiller does have to be just a person involved in smiting and stuff. A skiller can be any person who looks to prefect a skill and summoning is a skill so a skiller will be interested, just not all types or the ones you think.

Also to say F2P got a bunch of new updates is true. But so did members since they can still participate in these updates. But they were not for just to give F2P something because for F2P to complain about wanting Summoning too would be greedy. But the fact is those updates were to STOP RWT. This just happened to involve F2P getting new stuff. RWT can still function in a F2P world so they had to make these update, wither you like them or not, or find them fair. Now if these updates were to reward F2P for still playing and push them to P2P then F2P could be considered a little greedy if demanding this skill because Jagex just gave you Bounty Hunter, Duel, and some other stuff when you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even pay.

  3. Bini, Lady_Shahdie; I agree with both of you full heartedly and respect the response given. Bravo to both of you. =D>

Fook-A-Ji and Qeltar; your debate was something good to read. While I didnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like much of the time both of you bashed each other you both had very good arguments to make which I was well though out, not short just to raise post count, or make senseless points. Each of you wrote something to make me thing about that I would go as far as to think of politics of RuneScape that can be carried outside this thread, something I wouldnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t mind starting a topic on to really get mind thinking. :-k Bravo. =D>

As for BBC3, I must say I am not mostly pleased with you. While I respect you as an individual with an opinion to give you make yourself sound immature. I think you should take time to evaluate yourself and change your attitude. Even over the internet, respect should be given. You donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know who is on the other side of the computer and it could land you in trouble, something I would hate for a person for you to get into. Besides, one does not want to make a lot of enemies on a forum for discussing idea and viewpoints. Also, your post should use some standard English and syntax with some punctuation to make post easier to read even thou they are short without much substance to give. <.<

Now as for the issue at handÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ I would like Summoning to be a F2P skill. However, I understand why it canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t with the issues of location, leveling, and ability to use this skill on F2P or P2P worlds. But if added as a P2P skill only, it would lead me more into paying the 5 dollars a month. In fact, I plan to start playing World of Warcraft very soon and as I figure it, it would work out fine. I could pay for 6 months which would yield 26 dollars a year instead of the 15 dollars a month plan. But this would require me to use a credit card or paypal if accepted. However then, if I get it I could also pay 5 dollars a month, as I can set 5 dollars aside and by doing a little extra work around my grandmothers house or getting a job IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll be able to also pay for WoW. So adding Summoning as a P2P skill would prompt me more to be a member also since I will be playing more games soon. However, I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t play RuneScape as much (I am still active nonetheless) so it makes it another choice for me to decide.

  4. Most people who want to RWT to get money fast, is gone, you can only trade 3k at a time (Which they're changing on the amount of quests you have done, so it's still going to be under 100k) why would you spend 4 hours to get 1m, when you could get that by doing it yourself? Why waste your own money for 1m when you can do it yourself for some time? It's not worth it anymore, that's what JaGEx has done, they've made it highly inconvenient to the point it's just about not worth doing at all.

I agree here. This person is right. I mean if I was RWT would have quit and got a real job (if I didnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have one) or play console games. Why deal with trying to trade real world items on a game than sell stuff on ebay. Now IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not saying there will never be RWT or an inconvenience to other players but IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m saying they have cut it down with these plans and updates. Eventually people will adjust and this shows it. Now that Jagex has cut down RWT, traders have found a loophole, what will the others do. As for me, I will continue to play.

  5. HmmÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâævalid point.

As far as I see it, Pking in the pass was fun for some (even thou havenÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t done it but planned to). Yes, some of us do hate getting kills while doing a task but itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s only fair. You stepped into the wild so you are as fair game to anyone as everyone else is. The best ways you avoid trouble is to run, fight back, or ask them to stop. Now it sucks they kill you while getting green dragon hides but it is a risk you take when going into the wilderness. So Pkers shouldnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be bashed 100%. So the way I see it these changes maybe also balance it a little. Useless you GO to the three areas, (or the crater as it is called I believe) you canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t get yourself hurt. It only seem fair for one to lose all items that they carry. ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the wilderness. You take that risk.

At the same time PKer could have used some compassion. To kill of a weak miner who wants nothing more than ores seemed a little unfair, especially if they only have a pickaxe. They never look as if they want to fight. Now unless they are giving you trouble then I say go apes and kill. And if they want green dragon hides, wellÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ go ape and kill. If they come prepared to kill dragons, they should have come prepared to defend against PKers. But didnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t it feel more rewarding to kills players with armor and real weapons looking for another PKer than a miner (or dragon slayer in some cases.).

I guess the point I want to make is the Bounty hunter isnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t all bad. One plus is that you get all the items one had if you killed them (after the 3 minute penalty if not your target.) One minus is you lose all your stuff if you die. But havenÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t you always wanted to hunt down a specific target?

  6. In light of all the big updates, riots by some players, protest, and applauses by other players, maybe we should just sit back and relax and instead of trying to buy plane tickets to fly out to Jagex HQ and burn down the buildingÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæor ask for a job. Instead we should just think about one of the many interesting things still in RuneScape. One topic that I have been thinking about is random events.

Now we all know what random events are IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m sure. They are the thing that show up when one had been leveling for a long period of time that makes it a little suspicious as to if they player is real or a bot. And we all know what bots are. They are those weak leveling computer who you can run over in combat but totally kills you in skills like woodcutting, mining, or runecrafting. You can find them on any world. For those people who enjoy power they are high levels who usually fight and kill dragons. They are usually on member worlds. They are enemy number one, so random events are our friends. They take them away leaving more dragons, rock, and trees for the rest of us. But what happens when youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re actually leveling and not a botÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ

Well for some of us we put time and care to level. And then M.O.M shows up. For those of use who donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know M.O.M is the Mysterious Old Man who if you talk to will give you something. Other random events are Golems, drunken dwarfs, mazes, mines, and flies. They bother you and disturb you from your task in small way (or big). Now IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m sure than in the life time of an average RuneScape player you have all been hit by at least three. For some of us, we have seen every type. For others we had seen players get owned by random events

So do all players enjoy random events? Do you care when really trying to level? Or do you honestly donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t care? For me it works both ways. But IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve always wonder, could there be more than one benefit than trying to keep away cheaters? Will Jagex change them or get rid of them. Is it aspired to get all types of random events? Are there random events in disguise? I look for opinion in this as I wonder, what do these random events mean to us now?

Also, this is not meant to start a riot about the new update. ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s meant to be something of an enlightening journey or discussion. Yes you can take about the updates as long as they are related to random events, please. I just want people to read, make comments, joke, and laugh. LetÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s have fun with this topic. But donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be mane to anyone or hurt feelings. Also, sorry if this appears long. It doesn't to me but it can to you.

  7. Well I noticed that fame is mostly talked about here on a wide scale mass. ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s like everyone is imagining almost the entire RuneScape world knows one person. But one could be famous in a smaller scale. If you have a large group of friends who know one another than one or two people can be famous.

    Player 1: ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅHey do you know Grandragoonx14?ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

  8. I agree with everyone when saying this article is good. And it does make you think. When I first started RuneScape I wanted fame and powerÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæand money. Now that it is two plus years later I have not yet found fame, power, or money. But I continue to work at it. I know I wonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t get fame, but if I could I could get money. And I can probably get a high level easier than money and a lot more than fame. More and more people are reaching fame where it is no longer really fame. So whatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s left? Well one could reach fame in having an awesome clan or master at Bounty Hunter. I mean, since they added these new updates, wither we hate them or like them they give players another chance at getting that fame. But soon everyone would try to get it. So fame is pointless in the game unless you play for that sake of funÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæthen would you find fame as you kill of every lower (and higher) level in Bounty Hunter are max out almost every skill but cooking and smiting. But by then you would have stopped playing or not care for the fame anymore.

And yes, FooK A Ji is right. The money people want more than the fame. But I wonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t make a bet to streak a football field for like $100, especially since IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m a girl.

  9. Ok, well here is my idea. IsnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t much but I tried to be as creative as I could.

The setting is a cold snowy mountain region. The snowy is everywhere, with the mountain and a howling wolf in the background and it looks almost as itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a blizzard. But you can see a figure in the snow. You see it is a female by the blue long hair and can see what she looks like. The figure is a tan skin wearing runeplate armor with rune legs armor. She has white gloves with a big white hood and long white cape (the hood and cape looks to be like one items instead of two). On her feet are white shoes or boots and around her waist is a white sash. Around the neck is a white bandanna covering her mouth. On her back is a blue holder for adamant arrows and a maple bow. On her sash is her adamant pickaxe and in her hand is a rune scimitar. She is kneeled down on one knee dusting the snow uncovering a mithril or rune rocks she is about to mine. However there is an NPC (or another person) coming up behind her and she is about ready to attack him for trying to sneak up on her and kill her.

Here are screen shots of what sheÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d look like. Again, the hood, cape, boots, and gloves are white. She would have a white sash around her waist and white bandanna around her neck.(Also sorry if the screenshots look bad)
