  1. Tbh I don't blame you for trusting him, I probably would've too seeing that he has a pretty nice rep on tip.it. As for what you can do, I suppose the best idea would be to send the evidence to an admin for them to decide the appropriate course of action and just move on.
  2. Well, I thought that, but I'm not so sure now, the def of the dfs means you'll end up healing less, while the sara sword doesn't allow for a shield. The strength gap also begins to close because of the str bonus.
  3. Fishing and woodcutting seem to be your biggest assets.
  4. Alright, I've got a bgs right now, but it's pretty worthless tbh, I'm going to sell it. Now I've been wondering if anyone has done a side-by-side comparison of the sara sword (not sgs) v. the dragon scimitar for hourly xp rates. If someone has, I'd like to know what they found.
  5. Keep 60 att for dscim, get 82 magic (or 94), and just keep prayer as low as you find reasonable (31 is good for deep pking, if you're going to be more edge it will probably be advantageous to get 43 for pjers), and you should be fine.
  6. They help PK. =) With 60 def people like mhatma won't touch me...and levelling up my strength to 85+ with pots and prayer will own anyone in my way..so I'm good. :P First off, with Xeones, don't just disagree, ask why, he almost always has a good point. Secondly, he's right (big shock), for f2p, those stats are terrible. 62 attack? Yeah, okay, fine, whatever floats your boat, though the def of full rune v. the slash of rune scim is so uneven that you'll hit badly no matter your attack. 60 def doesn't even really have a point, particularly since you're pking in undesirable (cough worthless cough) armor in the first place, you'd want to capitalize on offense. And what's even the point of 34 prayer? No pray pots on f2p, it'll last like 20 seconds, and you carry nothing worth protecting. Really, just start over, go p2p, or go ahead and just finish up 99 att/str and hope you stumbled onto something pretty cool (though it's unlikely). Also quit bringing teles, people like me stick around until the death, and it's a real spit in the eye when someone teles away to save their pixels. And since I've already completely broken my promise to myself not to rant, where can I find these level 90's? Because I'd be willing to bet it wasn't a fair fight.
  7. 95+ attack can easily melee the barrows with a whip. It's about even with veracs for me at 91 att. And yes, I do this all the time, just melee for a few hundred deaths then start maging it. Although lately I just skip that last step; meleeing is so much more profitable. For anyone saying "It's way faster to mage," I can honestly say it's not that much faster, if at all. With a little luck, I can beat my maging friends, and with a little luck, they can beat me, but we usually end up at the chest pretty close to the same time.
  8. Shame they changed it, back before they changed the look you used to be able to do it without sharks or even prayer (though neither was recommended, it was easy to mess up on the second form) using this method. At any rate, this trick has saved me from getting koed many times, I recommend it to anyone who can afford to die with veracs (DCs will kill you unless you jump into a safespot before it goes).
  9. For pest control, I always use my whip, since in that instance, it can be used to train strength  However, for all around use, the whip is better anyway. A dscim is still a must if you want to train strength, but a whip hits more accurately and harder.
  10. Don't do it. You'll regret it =/ EDIT: Actually, lemme go into more detail. When fighting a meleer, what is the weapon of choice for their side? A whip. What're dhides weak against? Slash. Even if they're using a dscim, you're still at a disadvantage. In those 10 combats, they could be up 20 att and 20 str levels. Get 99 ranged (95 if you're tired of training :P), and pk with one defense. At 107 combat, consider that 95 ranged will destroy me in about 10 hits if I'm not eating, but I'm wearing barrows armor. Consider that you'll be about combat 72 with this, and therefor, the people you fight are much less likely to have barrows armor, and much less likely to have a good enough max hit to actually affect you. If you *do* decide to get 40 def, I'd make a fremmy pure. 45 defense, can wear full rune, and has really high strength with 70 attack (or more, if you want). With your ranged level, it'd be easy for you to get a fire cape, which is another plus. Don't take that the wrong way though, that build isn't the best, and your 1 def pker that you have now is much better.
  11. They can walk up and ask you :S Even if private is off, player mod's and jmod's text is still visible. If you're paying attention to the screen, and they ask, it's in your best intrest to reply.
  12. I don't believe you can, after the initial 72 hours or whatever it is I don't believe the ban can be repealed. However, if I were you, I'd see this as an opportunity; now that you already know all the best ways to do things, you can make a much better character than you had before, in less time than it took you to make the old one.
  13. Bandits is about 45k exp an hour. Honestly, your best bet for 99 att anytime soon would be PC. It's a little less in natural exp per hour than you get from bandits (I get about 25-30k there an hour naturally) and then there's the tickets + cash. I hated it, but when I saw how fast the exp was with heart unit (Not sure if I'm allowed to link to them, but there's probably a thread about them somewhere if it is allowed), I got addicted. If you ABSOLUTELY refuse to try PC, I'd suggest daggonoths or dust devils.
  14. Except you can't hold the lantern while using the warspear.
  15. No problem, and how about this- I'm thinking of selling some stuff to get guthan, black mask, and d chain + legs for slayer again. :uhh: I'll remember to add you, so we can slay together sometimes. :anxious: That would be fantastic! :D I'll add you as soon as I get on today; took a break from RS yesterday to spend time with my friends.
  16. Thanks for reminding me of the black mask, I forgot about it  I also added Tokz Ket Xil up there, since I had to sell mine to get my guthans. Private chat is set to "On" right now, so feel free to message me :)
  17. Hey there tip.it'ers, it's your neighborhood troll stopping in for a post. Hopefully the first of many on this thread :P Some of you may remember my thread a while back, "Getting it all back and more", but I decided not enough people cared/looked at it to warrant updates. Besides, it's the end of that story, it was good, but it didn't need to be continued in the fashion that I wanted. So, here starts the blog of.. Well, my RS life :D For those who remember one of my big goals for the last thread, it was guthans, for slayer (which is where the story branches off to this). Well, I'd like it to be known that I didn't give up on this goal ;) So, my stats, a bank pic, and my goals. Stats: Bank: Current Goals: 85 slayer (65/85) 85 defense (84/85) Fire Cape 90 strength 90 attack Black mask (Thank you L33t Hunt3r!) Tokz-ket-xil Long term Goals: Purple Partyhat 1600 total 120 combat Full Ahrims Full Dharoks 3 santas Tasks: 20 goblins (burthed from 126 turoths) 40 wolves (burthed from 11 bronze drags) 40 goblins (burthed from 130 black demons... this just isn't my day :P) 15 banshees (burthed from 130 black demons again) 130 Infernal mages Levels:
  18. Dharoks, sold for veracs (got veracs for 5.5 buying piece by piece around the time when it was 7M), sold veracs for torags and whip.
  19. Thanks =D Also, your sig looks like you irl, to the point where it's eerie o.O Avoiding PKers can become a big hassle, considering the pures with dds's like to PK people around my level because "They r haf skillz 4 pking tha lvl 103 wif no armor or food!" http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=412870
  20. Yes, unfortunately, I really couldn't stand doing that again, let alone 4x that =/ I'll certainly consider clues though. At the very least, I'll do the clues I get from ranging blues.
  21. Thank you both =D I forgot to mention, I always have private set to "On", so feel free to throw a PM at me. At the moment I probably won't be much conversation because my merchanting requires ALOT of world switches, but I promise that if you PM me, you'll get a reply ;)
  22. Well, this is where our blog begins. Today, August 20th, 2006. The character AcsacsX is approximately 1 year old some time this month, and is by far my most prized possesion. And I almost quit today. For you see, today I was scammed in a way I always thought was terrible, getting scammed by a close friend. My former friend Deainer asked if I could barrow my whip a few months back, and me, thinking "I've known this guy for a year and a half, I can trust him." (The half of the year mentioned here was played on Acsacs, who started in early rsc, I met Deainer on him while merchanting pure essense). Well, it's been almost 2 months, and I still have no whip back. And I've accepted, it's not going to come back, because I made a really bad choice in who to lend my things to. That whip was the pinnacle of my runescape career, it was the first real thing I sat down and worked hard for. And it had been stolen by a friend. I'm sure you can see why I wanted to quit. However, I remembered my good friend (and has been a good friend for a LONG time) Das1330, and how his red was scammed away from him by a close friend. If Das could continue on, then I can too. I know that red meant a lot to him, if memory serves it was given to him by l6vi. Whew. So, I'm going to get it back. I had my birthday a few days ago, and Teh1337del gave me 1M, and Laura gave me 300k, 1.5k mith arrows, 10 ranger pots, and a set of full black dhide. This is all certainly going to help quite a bit on my quest back to getting everything back (Unfortunately Deainer stole a few other things), and more. So, without further ado, my goals. Not complete/Working on it/Completed Getting a new whip Legends quest completed I also have my methods on most of these: Whip - Merchanting. I'll tell you my method after I've gotten it. Legends Quest - Buying 1k gold ores whenever I have the money for the smithing portion, and I'll just use the rannars from slayer for 45 herblore =x. Day 1: Posted the blog on tip.it. Today I'm pretty much just using my secret merchanting technique for money. I'm about 25% of the way to the whip. With any luck I get some good runs and hit 50-75% of the whip by tonight, but I have a fairly big assignment due tomarrow, so it may be cut short. End of Day 1: Finished this ALOT faster than I expected. I told someone the merchanting technique, and I promised them I'd keep it a secret for a few days (lets call it wednesday), so I'll reveal my tricks in a few days. Going to start on full guthans and 76 fishing, so far I have 103k/10M, which is like 1.3% completed? It's a far, far way to go. Day 2: Unfortunately, I have school, so there's most of the day gone. And I made a few bad choices last night with how to allocate my time, so I'll have to make up for it over the next week. I'll still get SOME work in though ;) End of Day 2: Well, I'm a little angred at myself right now. Burthroped a task, went to kill cave crawlers. Little did I know the stepping stone breaks your lantern, and I didn't bring a tinderbox. "I'll just tele out" I thought, but nope, forgot runes. "I'll just glory out" Wrong again! The bug's constant attacks act as a teleblock against glory teles and duel ring teles. So, I lost my glory, spare rune defender, climbing boots, steel gloves, and sara cape. I went 100k over 2.5 when I merchanted, so I can replace everything easily, but it'll be a pain to get the sara cape back. Maybe I should take this opportunity to do legends? Day 3:Working on slayer mostly, it's hard to stay away from combat >.< I'll work on fishing on the weekend, I swear =P Day 11:Well, a few unexpected events have happened. First off, Deainer has mentioned something along the lines of giving me another whip, which would OWN. I kind of gave up after people stopped posting, but I got a ton of PMs saying they want me to keep on the blog, so your wish has been granted ;) Getting 50 smithing today, I might try to do a task or two as well. Day 30: Legends- Orich25 and I did Legends together. It was a fairly simple quest ;) But my friends, this is where my daily blog ends. I'm retiring it in favor of a new blog, and I'll probably also request this one get locked. It's the end of a story, and I feel rather than add onto it, a new story should be started. So thanks to everyone for your help and advice ;)
  23. I'd burthrope the croc tasks, they're not worth the time.
  24. I don't suppose you've ever heard anyone crack a whip, have you? They can be cracked very, very fast in a long succession. Every time they crack, they break the sound barrier. Now, add a little weight and barbs (and heck, I've even heard broken glass has been used), and you are hitting them with 4-5 pounds of weight with sharp objects on it at the speed of sound. I don't know about you, but I'd rather take my chances with a dragon scimitar than I would a whip.
  25. Although this is more of a money-saving tip, when fighting bandits, which drop nats, collect the bones, and if you have it, cast bones to peaches. Provided you can get 1 nat per 25 bones (or less, depending on how much inv you have available), you'll be able to train indefinately. In the long run, this can save you a lot of money from teles for food, repairs for guthans, etc. Also, using my above paragraph, if you have 44 rc, then crafting nats for 1-2 hours will provide almost a week (or more) of food for you to use. For training herblore, keep all herbs except marrentills, because unicorn horns are a pain to get, for not much exp. You can also fight bloodvelds for herb exp, if you have bones to peaches, you can stay there indefinately as well (one of their drops is like 7 bones at once). When training slayer, make a pros and cons list of the monster assigned. Things such as drops, time it takes to kill them, location, location relative to a bank, how they attack, etc. If you think a burthrope task will yield better results (I saw around 2-2.5k exp per burthrope task), then do that. For an example, crocodiles are rediculously hard to kill, a 60 croc task can last up to an hour and a half. 30 Banshees, which was my alternative for this exact task, took 5-10 minutes, and yielded 5 rannars, and in the end, I got much more exp in that hour and a half. To train mage, do barrows. Enough said. For crafting, pick up every single gem you can get. With any luck, you'll pull a leesters and have 411 saphs to craft into games necklasses or recoils, or whatever.
