What movie(s) did you last see?
Watched two Tarantino Classics I'd been meaning to watch for ages but never got around to. Reservoir Dogs - 8/10 - Good movie. Well done and acted, kept my attention throughout. Pul Fiction - 9.5/10 - People have been recommending this to me for ages, now I know why. Great movie.

The world is ending on May 21st
All people expect the world to end at some point lol, not just Christians. I'm personally betting on us or something from space destroying it before the sun does. ~3 billion years is plenty of time. Ehh, I personally think we'll manage to do it ourselves far before that.

Yes, apparently the first rapture was a "silent" one, and the real "fire and brimstone" one is tomorrow.

If you actually believe Camping.. It obviously makes sense. I've always had a gut feeling that October 21st was a very rapturous date.

Interracial Relationships. Yes or No?
It's more about cultural stigma than actual incompatibility or racial discrimination.

The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
Kessel with another three points tonight...12 points in 5 games, +7. Wow. We really didn't deserve to win that game though - we've been really lucky thus far. We've had a bad period pretty much every game and that can't keep happening.

Agreed. I'm all for equality, not for one extreme or the other. Yup. There's a skewed sense of equality towards whatever maligned demographic happens to be the "flavour of the month" in terms of media attention, but other demographics that are treated just as unfairly are forgotten about.

Yeah. That guy annoys the [bleep] out of me and I disagree with 90% of what he says - but that vid is spot on.

I have no problem with masculinism. If feminism is acceptable, it's only fair. Also, affirmative action is BS.

Because feminism is not the opposite of misogyny.

Parenting
I'm not exactly sure how my parents did it, but they never needed to resort to inflicting pain to make me understand why I shouldn't play on the street or why I needed to make sure the stove wasn't hot before I planted my hand on it (I feel like watching me to make sure I didn't play in the street/kitchen before I was old enough to understand the danger was part of it). Now, I was a pretty compliant child by nature. If I can understand the reasoning, I am inclined to do as I'm told, and that streak is still with me. But then you have my brother who is much more defiant than I am, and I don't think my parents ever even resorted to a single spanking, even though he was a trouble child in his early years as I understand it. Children shouldn't fear their parents, and that's all you'll ever get if you hurt them. Your supposed to be their protector. You protect them, you don't abuse them. I basically agree with this, except I do think limited physical discipline can be effective at a very young age. I can count the number of times I was spanked/slapped on two hands, all before the age of 6-7. It very rarely happened and was never aggressive, but if it happened, I knew I'd [bleep]ed up bad. And I never made the same mistake twice.
