Chara has some offensive upside, but his primary use is as a shutdown guy.

Internet Explorer 9 (Out Now) vs Fire Fox Version 4 (Still In Devlopment)
Quite true. That said, IE blows the other browsers out of the water in that regard (until they implement hardware acceleration).

.....are you just trolling now? Your posts on this thread have made less and less sense with each occurrence. Schenn's a terrible scorer - that's not his job. He's a stay at home defencemen - an excellent one. That's worth quite a lot of money.

Internet Explorer 9 (Out Now) vs Fire Fox Version 4 (Still In Devlopment)
Actually, this iteration of IE is significantly better then the previous versions (last I tried it). A much smaller memory footprint, standards compliance, graphics hardware acceleration (still the only browser to implement this). I don't think it's enough to make me switch, but it's nice to see Microsoft putting some effort into creating a better product.

If the bible is true it certainly proves God exists. Likewise, if the FSM bible was true, it would prove the FSM exists - except we know for a fact the FSM bible is false.

Schenn is a great D. That's why I think he can command a lot of money... But I like gunnarsson's play recently - once Jake Gardiner is ready to play in the NHL I think toronto's D-core is good to go. Hopefully Komisarek can improve though, but I think he's good enough to be a #6 D.

Well, then we get into the historical accuracy of the bible, which is an interesting enough topic in itself.

The newest teen pop sensation
To be fair, people are going way over the top with it..some of the stuff they're saying is just mean. I mean, it's ridiculous and awful songwriting, but other then that it's not much different from what mainstream pop is these days.

I'd see schenn making more - I think he's going to be looking at a 9mil 3 year deal at least. I think kovalchuk will recapture what he did in atlanta - but I also think that paying someone 10mil is too much short of sidney crosby. Pretty sure TB will resign stamkos - couple of deadline moves freed up funds probably just for that purpose.

I must say she is inspirational. I now live my life to the mantra she extolls: "Partying partying yeah fun fun fun fun". Also, she has enlightened me as to the importance of the deep philosophical question: "Which seat do I take?". Not to mention, of course, her invaluable contributions towards clearing up much of the alarming ambiguity surrounding the order of the days of the week.

I don't know much about the supposed "teachings" of FSM but I don't think CGF is saying that FSM can't exist.

Also curious to see what the lightning offer stamkos, and what what burke offers shenn/reimer

Cool, never knew that. I agree, Vancouver looks beastly this year. Sorry, but Jersey did overpay for Kovalchuk. You can't look at just his cap hit - although he is a good player.

Does actually seem to be a little faster (Canada here). Good stuff.

Firstly - they traded Langenbrunner to dallas. Secondly - they're one of the best defensive teams in the league. If anyone can shut down ovechkin, they can (although he hasn't really been an offensive factor). Thirdly - you don't "shut down" pronger.

Gotta agree. Loss to Islanders was when I realized that but loss to tampa was the nail in the coffin. Still, always nice to watch them win a game anyway.

Yes, I blame coaching for it, because basically the very minute they get a new coach all of a sudden things turn around. Having a good player doesn't guarantee success (not to mention Parise was out since almost the very beginning this year).

We'll see. I don't buy that they 'gave up' at all.

The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
Neither Tampa's nor Pheonix's turnarounds have been anywhere as dramatic as New Jersey's. Both those teams were bad last season and are good this. New Jersey was literally the worst team in the league for half this season - and basically two weeks after they rehire Lemaire they start winning 90% of their games (against the top teams, too). Nothing points to good coaching quite like that does.

They certainly can - and I'm sure they won't hesitate to look into legal action if it happens. I like this - obviously much depends on how they implement it, but as others have said, potentially great for backup, or for RSB clans.

The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
Well, I have to say, once again, the New Jersey Devils are frigging ridiculous. If they make the playoffs, Lemaire will win the Jack Adams, no questions asked. And if they play like they have been, if they make the playoffs, I think they're legitimate cup contenders too.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I think the only situation where it wouldn't matter is when the two people really don't care at all. For most people who have some opinion about it it's generally pretty strong as far as I've seen.

I don't agree with you(tripsis) that religious symmetry is unimportant. Regardless of your belief (or lack thereof), it's a pretty important issue, especially when you consider educating your kids.
