  2. Just wanted to drop by and thank for the first (Racheya's) article. Felt like looking in the mirror. 'twas spooky. Nice job.
  3. Second pointer set in Europe. Northest Tip.Iter (ATM) for the victory :3
  4. Oh, I didn't post here yet? Conga-rats! :twss:
  5. 9:20 GMT+2 New Zealand is GMT+12 --> 19:20 (=7:20PM) Which means that apparently the GMT+11 and GMT+12 zones should be quaking. Except they aren't. It's comical how the Bible says (and it does say this, I just checked it from mine :P) that no man is to know the time of the end of the world and then some of these Christian groups go like "l0l0l0 world ends [insert random date here] because the bible says so". And what, math based on the Bible? Please. I'm off to get some coffee. While I still can :3 lololo

The reason people are getting 2 as the answer from their calculators is in the way the calculator processes the problem. It seems to cut the syntax in terms which it will process one by one in the order of operations. DISCLAIMER: Just something I thought up. Nothing official or such :P If you write in 48/2(9+3), some calculators will understand the 2(9+3) a single term with parentheses, ranking the whole term top tier in the order of operations (due to the precense of parentheses) and processes it like this: 48/2(9+3) 48/2(12) 48/24 2 before moving on with the calculation. If you write in 48/2*(9+3), however, the calculator separates the (9+3) as a separate term and processes it like this to remove the parentheses: 48/2*(9+3) 48/2*12 24*12 288 I tried this out with my Casio CFX-9850GB PLUS. The result: 48/2(9+3) = 2 48/2*(9+3) = 288 Agree with Will_H, the syntax is horrible.
  7. Indeed [add finger pointing downwards here] The irony. The amount of it flying around right now is astonishing.
  8. [fanboy] Rock Band came up with something new, something innovative - the Keys are the most awesome things I have ever played (until my keyboard broke that is  ). Harmony vocals are also killer fun. People just quickly judge them to be "just another pile of plastic instruments" when they are NOT. They're actually real instruments, the real deal (at least the Squier and the Keyboard). Latest GH games have simply been new song packages. Their game engine was horrifying (vocals, anyone?) and GH games' music libraries mostly covered metal and rock only. They added nothing new to the genre. RB, on the other hand, has new songs flowing into the game every few days with official releases every week with loads of different genres included. I do not think Rock Band will die. The Guitar Hero genre dying, though.. no surprises there. Glad it's gone. [/fanboy] Also, thread on this matter posted on RB Forums by Harmonix employees.
  9. Yeah, know how frustrating it is when you know you could pull a song off but you can't because your controller is busted. <_< Oh well. They still sell old Rock Band 1 all-instrument bundles here for like 20€, dunno are there any there but that could be a good way to get a new guitar. Got this one today. Used a totally random path and got my first FC on it, instantly jumped there from place #13. :D
  10. I was under the assumption that Jagex had stopped throwing P2P adverts at F2Pers in-game.

Dang with these idiom-rich languages! I will never fully understand them. :D (no hurt feelings ;))
  12. Juhnie replied to Synthox's topic in Rants
I haven't said I hate on English people. I just find it mildly amusing for some reason. :P How could one hate on the language people mostly use to communicate between different nationalities? And of course it doesn't work like that always. In this case it works because the word is supposed to be pronounced in a Scandinavian way (I assume).
  13. Juhnie replied to Synthox's topic in Rants
Ain't it just lovely when our English fellows are struggling to pronounce these words and we can just walk in and go "lolitspronouncedlikethisnubs"? :P But yeah, I too get (at least mildly) annoyed when people repeatedly mispell a word over and over again and the wrong spelling spreads like a virus. Anyone want to barrow something from me, by the way?

I find that sticking with three or four colours all over the site (as long as they aren't really bright colours or such) is quite a pleasant thing to look at. I mean, just look at Tip.It. :D Can't really think of anything to change in the new design, in my opinion it looks awesome. All other newspapers shall vanish into the shadows cast by the new awesome site of Hufvudstatsbladet (if that design gets chosen that is) :P
  15. Studies, every old friend quitting, game's declining quality, frustration caused by inability to say anything on certain forum topics/in-game discussions without getting horribly burned to death. To name a few. Scarily enough, all of these are slowly happening.
  16. Aren't they just repeats of the ones from RB2? Yeah. They claim they left them out from the purchasable export pack for "licensing and file size reasons". They could've added the extra parts during the two months it took them to publish the package, but... I'll look into what I'll do with the Keys, probably going to try to check with the store and if that direction doesn't work I'll consider emailing the UK support. Just frustrates me since I don't make a lot of money, and when I purchase something this expensive I won't get what I paid for. They can't swap the Keyboard instantly for a new one at the store though, since they ordered only two Xbox Keyboards and I have the second one which I got when I turned the first one in for being faulty right from the start. :S
  17. Yay. :D Still not sure what to do with the Keyboard. Probably gotta go complain about it to the store for a refund. Buy a new one somewhere else. :/ Also, free HMX song pack released today. No keyboard parts, no vocal harmonies and I can't download them for a week since I'm not a Gold Live Member. -.-
  18. MadCatz surely produces quality hardware for Rock Band. My keyboard's highest C has been squeaking for a few weeks, and now something seems to have snapped inside the lowest C key - it produces double hits and wobbles around weirdly as if it has become loose. My local retailer has apparently no idea what to do with it (we've asked multiple times and they just tell that they'll contact to producers to ask for directions and call us, no calls yet...) and the MadCatz site is quite confusing and I got the understanding that their warranties are only available in North America. E-mail contact centres are only for US, UK, Germany and Spain, same for tech support telephone numbers (and I don't even want to imagine the cost of calling to Britain from here). FAQs are totally useless ("Why my OD doesn't deploy when I tilt the Keyboard controller?!?!?!" Seriously?) and the whole thing reminds me of when I was trying to replace my broken drum bass pedal - the site just kept sending me from a link to another link until I finally kept going in circles. I love it when these big companies keep [bleep]ing with their customers. Seems like I wasted my 80€ for nothing. -.-
  19. Yeah, know what you're talking 'bout there. Lasso, impossible on Vocals? Seriously? I got 100% on it while sightreading. I think the problem is that they have too few tiers and have to list all songs from 'takes skill' to 'will murder you' under the red devils. Roundabout and Antibodies are both devil tiered on Pro Keys; I can pass Antibodies easily but Roundabout simply makes my fingers fall off if I'm stupid enough to try it. :uhh: I disagree with the New Wave comment though, but that's just because I love the New Wave songs. :P
  20. I bought a used copy not long ago for $14, it's good if you like the Beatles' music, not so much if you want a challenge. Am I a noob if I find some of The Beatles' songs' drum charts devilishly hard to play? :P Definitely recommend the game if you like The Beatles or classic rock music. No idea what the instruments are like, though. (I'm still using my Rock Band 1 kit, lol.)
  21. Ultimately bleeped off right now. Started surfing around the Rock Band site today and noticed that Sonata Arctica's "Flag in the Ground" is now available as downloadable content. I rush to the songs list to check that is this true, already planning on running to the Xbox and buying it when I see the magical 'RBN' word in there. Since I'm not in the handful of selected countries who can download RBN songs: 1) I will not be able to download it before Microsoft decides to add XNA (and therefore RBN) to Finland (AKA never) 2) Future Sonata Arctica songs to be added as DLC will most likely be authored through RBN so I can't download those either. <_<
  22. DLC released after Rock Band 3 doesn't work anymore on the old games since they have changed the file format to support the Pro parts/Harmonies.
