Soldiers of Napta
Ares tries to hop across the roofs of the city buildings using Aerokinesis, looking for Icu.
-
Soldiers of Napta
Ares decides to quickly grab a flag if one is nearby, and leaps off of the edge of the building, increasing the jump distance with aeromancy. He then uses the flag (Or not, but if I did find one it'll help) to parachute down, far away from the place where the building is collapsing. If there is no flag, he does the same thing, but tries to use aeromancy to fall slower. All the while shouting "CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP". (Hey you guys... I would run. The empire state building is pretty big.)

Soldiers of Napta
Ares decides to sit and watch the surroundings for a while. Hey Mather: http://rumandmonkey.com/widgets/toys/testgen/5261/

Soldiers of Napta
Ares looks over the ruined city in amazement. He tries to spot any movement at all.
-
Soldiers of Napta
Ares looks for the nearest high point available, and tries to do an aero-jump to higher and higher points until he reaches it. He then looks around for any signs of movement.

Soldiers of Napta
Lawful Neutral melee/reflexes.

Soldiers of Napta
Ares looks around for Icu, gesturing to Nex to catch up with the group whenever possible. If Icu is on a rooftop or something, he uses aeromancy to increase his jump height, and jump from point to point until he gets to the roof.

Soldiers of Napta
(Well, I'm planning to join up with the main group anyway. It's probably better we stick together for now, knowing the amount of things that tried to kill us already.)

Soldiers of Napta
Ares decides he'll try one more technique before continuing his mission. He then tries to split the deck in the air between his hands and form a shield of cards in front of him about the size of his torso, before returning to the deck.
-
Soldiers of Napta
Ares then tries to throw a card and get it to embed itself into a wall, before trying to retrieve it using cartokinesis (Sorry, still stuck on the -mancy thing from dungeoneering.)
-
Soldiers of Napta
(In that case, thanks Nex.)
-
Soldiers of Napta
Ares thanks the omnipotent gods, and then practises Cartomancy. He throws a card and tries to make it boomerang back to him.

Soldiers of Napta
Ares wanders around, looking for something mission-related. Or anything card-like.

Hegemony
Most of the ideas that Mather wants from Stargate are the stupid ones (A side effect of most all of Sci Fi tech being unrealistic, with notable exceptions) It's these impossible things that makes people want them...

(Anybody else having multiple forum crashes?) Hex, it affects me because most of the tech on the show is not based on real physics. Naqawhatever somehow creates energy, and by being in the bloodstream of the whatever race prevents all disease somehow. Particle magnums manage to fit an incredibly destructive blast into a tiny little pistol style weapon. Drones somehow fit enough power in that little missile to generate enough heat to melt through walls and such. it just wouldn't work. It's like me trying to use the power weapons from Warhammer. They can apparently cut through solid blocks of pretty much anything, but it wouldn't work in real life. Or researching a bolter. They can apparently fit 20 round magezines, and fire with good accuracy, despite the barrel being like 7cm long. It's absurd.

Fallen Star
Well Nex, I actually did post an action for the last round, but my character wasn't mentioned in the post, so I left it there.

Hex, be quiet. If people don't enjoy hegemony, then what's the point? Polls like this are used to decide what is best for the overall enjoyment of the group. A democratic voting process hardly counts as mommycoddling.

I'm actually very into space sci-fi. Especially Warhammer 40k. I just refuse to get into a real debate on Stargate because it is so opinion based. Personally, I think it sucks. Archi just about summed it up, and it carries more sci-fi cliches than you can shake a stick at. Throwing viewing figures out wont prove anything. Now, I hate to use hitler based analogies (Really, we've played them to death and back... Several times) but it is the only thing I can come up with right now. Many millions of people followed Hitler. Does that make him good? And with that out of the way, can we please stop talking about Stargate for gods sake, and let the poll deal with whether it stays in or not?

Soldiers of Napta
Haha. I'm still here.

Well, that was a sidenote. I was just laughing at how Stargate seems to fall over every damn trope in the book.

Not okay. Stargate technology is generally stupid regardless. A missile being able to produce a powerful enough microwave to be able to melt through walls? Hah. Aliens who happen to be immune to pretty much every natural thing in existance (Aside from one, which happens to be THE ONE WEAKNESS!) because "The chemical in their body did it" (Easily comparable to "A wizard did it".) Some wonderous metal which for some absurd reason can "Create" energy or something. I think not. As well as that, we're already getting matter gates, which are far better than the gates from the show, since any ship can go through them, and they are bigger than 6.7 metres or whatever it is. Thus rendering your paddlejumpers and whatjamacallem's utterly pointless unless you want to sort of spin in a chair and go "Wheeeeeee Stargate!" (On a sidenote, I never knew how many trope pitfalls stargate falls into. I have a few here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AchillesHeel http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AttackItsWeakPoint http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LostTechnology http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RagnarokProofing http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ImportedAlienPhlebotinum (Could also be applied phlebotonium regardless) http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Unobtainium Even with my limited knowledge of Stargate, I know that it has all of these. Christ almighty, it sounds like a trainwreck, )

But the monitor would have detected the loss of a hearbeat and informed them of Tim being shot. (After all, sudden drop in heartbeat to zero isn't the same as it fading out with distance.) It isn't perfect, no, but it seems to me like a viable tactic which would do more good than bad.

It wont be available to the general public <_< Plus, you give it 10 minutes before going off on a mission to register the combined heartbeat of the people around you. That way, you only get informed when somebody new comes into range, or somebody leaves.
