The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Indeed, but the entire S-Net userbase isn't a single unified mind. There will be seperate groups, some that support GM, and some which are against it. Australia begins to promote Genetic Modding to the S-Net userbase as well, with multiple websites being set up and the process being explained. And thus, since there are some that support it and some that don't (Similiar to pretty much every major project), the project continues.

But it should pacify the general public and let it slip into obscurity, since S-net still isn't big enough to influence too much, as well as only a portion of the S-Net users regarding GM as bad, and the other half or so supports it. A few more years and it may have been a big problem, but for now, it should be okay. Besides, nothing else I could do short of curing the diseases is going to persuade the S-Net users. Their outcry is basically ignored, and Australia continues to promote Genetic Modding to the general public.

Australia begins to place leaflets in noticable locations (Airports and such) which contain information regarding Genetic modifications, how it works, and the benefits it has.

Oh god. That's awful. This just reinforces my point that PvP REALLY needs a revision though. Also, does it take long to explore the special paradises, and can you still get the awesome rewards without fighting?

Yes. Australia appreciates the help.

True I guess. Australia begins accepting DNA samples of different people around the world, resorting to shady dealings if none is given freely.

Indeed, but I think that the possibility of eliminating some horrible diseases and making the human race better outweighs the risk that it could go wrong. Australia begins promoting the idea of Genetic Engineering among the public. Mather, the human genome doesn't differ that much between countries, as far as I'm aware.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Genetic engineering will be used to cure many genetic disorders as well, and will not only be used to increase efficiency and performance in humans.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I was already in the TFTA. Australia's military reform is complete, with the army seperated into special groups, and the mandatory military service differentiates depending on the results of a physical and mental exam you take which determines which squad you'll be part of. The only squad revealed at the moment are the dawn guards, who are basically the best of the best, equipped with bionic enhancements and certain other pieces of equipment, they'll generally be used to defend key strategic locations. Australia works on new performance enhancing drugs, and new gene alteration programs. Taking into account all of the projects going on, Australia's budget is pretty stretched, and as such, it will not be able to start any new projects until the previous ones are completed. Edit: Oh hell, thanks Mather, I just remembered about the Arctic land as well. New military training facilities are being set up in the arctic, where soldiers will be trained to endure the cold as well as the heat back home. Mather, I can agree to that.

Australia has re-entered the fray, and starts a special project which should be done in about 5 years. My other projects are halfway finished or so. Australia would like to extend a hand of friendship to Japan, in spite of what occured a few years ago,

I respectfully disagree, but I see that this argument is getting nowhere.

How will the population fall from the introduction of a drug which is less dangerous than two existing drugs which are widely used today? You buy the drug cartels out, and start growing natural cannabis instead.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
You seem to overexaggerate the ability for cannabis to kill brain cells. It's about equal to that of alchohol. Also, alchohol wont be banned for a loooong time yet. They already tried that, and it didn't work.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
But the point is, alchohol and tobacco are both more dangerous to people than natural cannabis, so why should they be legal and cannabis not?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Then you could also consider Cannabis and Tobacco poisons, since they only work due to the chemicals, but that is irrelevant. They aren't going to ban alchohol or tobacco though, and "Natural" cannabis is healthier than that, so why not? Remember, "Natural" cannabis as opposed to "street" cannabis is about half as potent last I checked.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Indeed. In fact, street cannabis contains a higher concentration of the chemical that gives it it's particular effects than would normally be found in nature, due to selective breeding over the years. If the regular variety is legalized in place of that, it's actually a hell of a lot better for you than both alchohol and tobacco.

Any of you guys have any idea what level legends/how many archers/swordsmen/whatever and how many legends one should send to explore a special paradise?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Most drugs generally don't cause people to become violent. Also, they aren't fully legalized, there just isn't a minimum sentance for them, so no absurd amount of jail time for carrying a tiny amount. It isn't that bad, really. It's like smoking normal cigarettes, basically. Sure, it kills people, but it's legal, they just have a ton of advertising campaigns against it.
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I don't think you should be the one to do that. No offense to you personally, but I wouldn't trust anybody to roll their own stuff in that situation. Also, you say you rolled 5, but I see seven numbers. Heh. Retech, y'know if all your gold is gone then your currency is worth zero, right? At least, that's how I see it with my low understanding of economics, anyway.

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I think Icu was thinking that you'd just added another 90 million people to your population, wheras really you're just moving them around.
-
Dungeoneering
Since Retech blagged out on doing it yesterday, is it Manifest Destiny today?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
But that gives a major oppurtunity for screwing people over, since you can just say you had spies there when you actually didn't. See what I mean it wasn't meant for this sort of thing?
-
The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
Easy enough to fix, just make sure you do detailed and thourough background checks when somebody applies for a job which may be exposed to classified information. That way, you don't need to search everyone, and most of the spies ability to function is cut off. Icu, I fail to see your argument. Grim isn't allowed to spend a ton of money on national security, but you are because you spent it on weapons?

The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
You misunderstand. Hegemony was never designed or intended to be a full RP. Also, why don't they just keep their spy detection up throughout all four projects...?
