Swine flu virus
Spanish Flu was H1N1 too, right? Oh, hopefully we who have survived have developed a resistance to it. I'll keep looking at New Scientist articles in the meantime.

Things you're afraid of.
Winged spiders? Have you discovered a new species? Or are you talking about spiders that cling to floating strands of silk and glide around?

Being a Geek is now "cool" in today's pop culture...

Zombie Plans-Revised
Oh, I won't be running out of anything. You think a jetpack and armor is going to be used to protect myself from ambling zombies? Oh, no sir. I'm coming for you. Plenty of fuel and batteries there. Nah I'm just playing. Though, I want the first portion of my zombie battles to be like a cross between Fallout 3 and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. After that's over and done with I'll go over to your 'reasonable' side and adopt your tactics.

Zombie Plans-Revised
Only enough power is needed to detect motion and allow flow of air or water between the suit's segments. Wouldn't weigh you down much at all--it's supposed to amplify your movements and actually make it easier for you to move. Like I've said, people are building their own. During a zombie apocalypse, I intend to be fully tricked out. That's right-- power armor, hydrogen peroxide jetpack (going rate today is 100,000 dollars) with spare fuel, and guns.

for £100k would you let your parents...
I wouldn't want to know that I'd be letting my parents see an amount of 'corruption' equal to that I have seen. I always think of them as being naive--wouldn't want that to change because I know they've seen what I have.

Zombie Plans-Revised
There are some parts of the world where they just have competitions for the strongest power armor created. Amateurs with junk lying around join. I'm sure it's feasible. It's not iron-man strong, but can help lift a decent load. And joint-locking steadies aim by removing the shaking common in human flesh. Why not just place all the stress on plastic and packets of water or air? Also, it's called power armor. Automatically cool-- am I right?

Torture
So, is this another thought experiment?

Is God real post your thoughts!
He kept talking about the "Kingdom of his Father" (Heaven, of course), and the Romans thought he was talking about an actual kingdom. This was treason. People didn't really care about the state religion, it was more a nationalistic than religious thing. There was probably more than one cause. Barihawk, I think, could shed light on this.

Home-made hydraulic or air-canister power-armor. Would steady aim if you chose to lock joints, and could be used for heavy lifting. And if you ever did run out of bullets--you could smash in some rotting zombie skulls.

Is God real post your thoughts!
This was how the Universe began... God, capable of everything, sought to challenge his power. He had already proved able to create or destroy anything. He bent the rules of everything around him. What more was there to do, for someone so powerful? Then it struck. Was he so powerful that he could destroy himself? Such destruction would prove to be the greatest feat of all--the death of something that could create all else. And so God destroyed himself, with one, big bang.

Losing capability. Going backwards. Especially as far back as point zero: Death.

Strip Searching A Thirteen Year Old
Sigh. This is why all airports should just employ the cloth-deep x-rays... Though I guess people would still be upset that someone somewhere saw them naked. -.-

Increased strength and reactions times, combined with a halberd/katana/axe/whatever the hell you want to use would be pretty awsome. Basically you're a berserker. I, for one, would love to be in that situation  Hell, yes. Gotta be with bladed knuckledusters and boots. I'd join your suicide club--try to imitate Ryu Hayabusa while I'm at it.

HEROES SPOILER!!
No, I'm sure our water-girl is Tracy though. Her shattered eye blinks in Cold Snap. She's basically like Ice-Man now. She and large bodies of water can become one. She is water and ice, and water and ice are her.

Badassery
What about the guys who were further up the list than Simo? The Indian guy who climbed up a mountain without cable, took out a bunker with one grenade, took nine shots, killed everyone in another bunker with his bare hands, made his way down the mountain, received 4 more shots, and broke his arm on the way down? And survived? The only one to receive India's highest honor and still be alive. Even higher on the list is Audie Murphy. The guy who acted in a movie about his own life, but played down facts because he thought people would think it was too unbelievable.

HEROES SPOILER!!
First or Second season, I forget which. Jessica was the second sister, and was the victim of child abuse, which brought about her death. The Jessica in Nikki's mind was her sister, which mainly manifested itself when she was a victim of abuse. At least, thats how I interperated and remember it. Third sister is someone named Barbara. The scientist mentioned her, thinking Tracy was her.

Yo' mama is so fat that... I fear her heart and blood vessels may soon be clogged with cholesterol, causing her to suffer a stifled blood flow. I implore that you take her to the hospital and have her examined by a medical professional. Immediately.

they'd still walk really slowly. And moan. Do zombies moan? They moan, but what do we have that can pierce heavy armor like that? Okay, I'm not going to say it. Just heavily imply it. Come on, that was just screaming for me to respond.

Worst thing..
The worst thing about me is that I could not immediately point out all of my flaws-- Yet can list several of yours. Strange how italics can make the text so much more penetrating. Oh, and I'm cryptic and overuse tiny text. That'd be number two.

Zombie Plans-Revised
Good point. I guess its just that there's something poetic about cutting flaming swaths through the crude matter of rotting flesh, bone, and brain--a beauty to the purity of fire and light as it slices a path through living dead. Too bad that combat is not a song, or even a dance.

Zombie fighting. Serious business. Haha, I actually enjoy all of you enthusiasm in this. Can't be long before an actual zombie apocalypse, and its good to be prepared. Of course by that time, we hopefully WILL have plasma weaponry. That's the last time I'll speak of plasma, don't maul me.

Zombie Plans-Revised
Okay, so I understand that plasma swords are a little impractical and, with the required portable power source, a little bulky. But it cauterizes wounds and prevents bleeding while completely obliterating nervous tissue. I say sword just because they are badass, you say rifle because they are actually useful. So lets combine the two. A rifle that operates under the same plasma-capturing magnetic field technology, and instead of keeping the burning substance as a coherent blade, you shoot it. Badassery and pragmatism packaged into one (presumably chrome and sleek) weapon of zombie destruction. Hell, when things get hairy in a close combat situation you could disrupt the field with a magnet yourself, and watch how the barrel of your gun spits diffuse fire into the crowd. Though when it bounces off of surfaces and into your face, things could get problematic.

Zombie Plans-Revised
Lightsabers. I mean, the plasma swords we have now can be disturbed by a kitchen magnet and spew flaming hot death upon its wielder, but I don't think zombies'd know that.
