  1. Not really. They're quite what I expected when one of the biggest terrorists the world has known has been taken down. The facts about this man are also a bit blurred. As with this report itself. Please, tell us how you know they are blurred if they are indeed blurred. Surely you wouldn't know the truth either in that case. and I just respond: You tell me how it's not blurred. Anyone can shift the burden of proof, it's easy. By not answering what you were asked, and instead trying to turn the question around, it tells me you don't really have an answer. And don't try to ask me for an answer on how it's not blurred, because I never claimed to know anything about it, so don't waste your time there. I'm merely pointing out that you're avoiding providing an answer. I never claimed to have an answer, you probably shouldn't get smug about this, since I proved before that you're just as unsure about the truth as I am.
  2. I don't believe in the death penalty, ever, it's a horrible mentality. A person's actions should not brand them with the death stamp no matter how shocking. Remember that human actions are never without reason and that we're all essentially blank slates at the moment we're born (albeit slates of varied quality, but blank nonetheless) those in power have to take responsibility for what they and their predecessors have indirectly influenced; instead of shooting all their mistakes in the face without doing a damn thing to prevent more problems in the future, and if anything, the exact opposite is achieved. The only time someone should kill is if their own life is directly threatened within the here and now, not out of spite, not out of revenge. but hey, believe what you want, I'm simply expressing my own view-point, I can't sway somebody if they embrace 'justice' without question, it's essentially the same as arguing with a thiest. I'd also like to note that it has been proven many times over that positive reinforcement works astoundingly better than punishment as a means of encouraging certain behaviours. Then why do we use punishment? Easy answer, that's because it's cheaper and requires much less effort. Nice way to sell out humanity. DONT YOU EVER PUT WORDS IN MY MOUTH OR PUT YOUR OPINION IN A WAY MAKING IT SEEM THAT I'M IN THE WRONG. I'M A PARAGON OF JUSTICE, WITH VENGEANCE BURNING THROUGH MY VEINS. And positive reinforcement wouldn't work on a mass murderer. You should know this. Some people are irredeemable no matter what can be done, that's all there is to it. If there was any glimmer of light or reason for him, maybe. But we're far beyond that point now. I don't agree with killing anyone. But for this, I'd gladly make an exception. With that being said, al-Quaeda is so corrupt, so... evil, that it as a whole is unsalvageable, to where the only option is to destroy the faction outright. Okay, what reasons would Osama have to murder thousands? And where DO WE EVEN START TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND STOPPER THE SOURCE OF THIS ENTIRE MESS? DO YOU HAVE THE SHEER FORTITUDE, KNOWLEDGE, OR REASON TO ANSWER THAT?! Well said. There's a difference between rehabilitating someone with a drinking problem, and rehabilitating someone who has coldly calculated the slaughter of thousands of people, not just Americans, but even Muslims part of his own sect of Islam too in other countries. But hey. There's always gotta be that one guy out of the bunch who wants to get on the podium and preach the gospel of good grace right before the hanging. Like I said, no need to flame, this is extremely subjective. You shouldn't get defensive. Although I do encourage critical thinking. I alknowledge that sometimes, especially with the current state of society, that these things can easily become unavoidable, but I will always stand by my previous assertions. If we continue like we are, there is no bright future, it's difficult to deny. Progress can never be made if we're permamently stuck within such a violent paradigm where the elite play us all like puppets for their own gain and amusement. To support this killing is to support the very same establishment that is stifles you.
  3. To pixel-art people you really have to start with knowing all the general sketching basics like proportions, natural postures etc; it carries over. here's a few easy proportion rules to remember off the top of my head: Body: - The entire body length should be at least 6 heads down - 2 heads down is approx. where the chest should be - 3 heads down is about where the legs start - The legs should at least be the same length as the torso (from the stomach) + head - Hands are generally the size of the face - Feet are the approx. length of the forearms, go a bit shorter if needed. - Arm length usually reaches from just above the knees with extended finger-tips, can go shorter, but it's better to have arms looking a bit too long than a bit too short. - Bicep muscles usually end at around the same point the ribs are furthest out a bit below the chest. - Male torsos have a solid/bean shape with broad shoulders, female torsos have an hour-glass shape that is a bit wider at the start of the legs (pay attention to this, lol, it's easy to make female character look male) - Also, try to limit the size of breasts, they might end up amazingly unrealistic, if you really want to draw them right, you have properly observe naked models, its the only way  Face: - Eyes are half way down, with a single eye-width between and half eye-widths to the sides - The top of the ears should roughly match the level of the brow - The mouth should extend far enough so that the corners reach about the same distance as the center of each eye (can be smaller though) - The nose is the most flexible part of the face, but it's also a feature that makes or breaks. Although, as long as the rest of the face matches, most nose shapes can work. Sorry if you already knew all of that, heh.

  6. Some of these replies are a bit scary tbh.
  7. Small games like that can be amazing if they're given a distinct feel/style and maybe a few twists. It's also better to remain realistic about what you can achieve without a massive development team, the bigger visions fall much harder on your psyche when they fail. Thanks for offering the help, but I generally prefer not to place burdens on people other than myself.
  8. finally, someone half-rational. You don't solve violence with violence, it's such a basic kiddy rule, yet no one seems to comprehend it. You don't solve violence with violence? Most violent people don't listen to reason. It may seem like a small and childish example, but it is an example of when violence was solved by more violence: In 5th grade there was this kid who sat across from me in class. Every day he would kick me in the shins underneath the desks. I didn't stand up for myself for about a week of constant abuse from him, and would come home from school every night with my shins covered in bruises. My dad told me that if he did it again the next day at school, to stand up for myself, and kick the kid's ass. The next day, the kid kicked me, I told him to stop, he kicked me some more. At recess, I broke his nose. Told him to [bleep] off or there would be more where that came from. Problem solved, the kid never even looked at me again, and requested to be moved to a different desk. Violence solved with violence. Good ridance Osama, have fun burning in hell. There's a difference between self-defense and violent prevention/retribution. Your example is self-defense. Anyway, using a school-yard example to justify the actions of adults... not sure what to say about that... actually I am, it's ridiculous.
  9. Well I've never made a complete game per se, but I've recently been formally educated in the sacred art of basic programming concepts, I'm just combining this knowledge with what I've learned from all my past failed attempts. I know for a fact that solo game development is near impossible unless you have boundless hours of free time and are relatively skilled in all areas like music, design, graphics, programming. The software that I use, multimedia fusion 2 (developer), though rather simplified, well accommodates a solo developer and can be quite powerful if used correctly. Things like the platforming presets are generally bogus, I work from the ground up. Some people tend to ask why not just make 3D model games like most are today, since there are tools for that too. Meh, pixel style is appealing and generally easier to achieve acceptable production quality.
  10. Well it's mainly due to me splitting up each sprite into individual objects (head, torso, left arm, right arm, legs) so that various animations/orderings do not interrupt each other in-game (e.g the hair waving loop should not reset while walking/stopping, it also easily allows the sprite's arms to attack while running)
  11. There is a reason why times are gloomy, you can't wash it over with bogus nationalism, that's dangerous in more ways than one. It's not a good reason to believe everything is ok, especially when the so-called 'threat' is a willingly self-inflicted wound. You don't claim victory over a menace you yourself caused, instead apologize for your mistakes. An unfortunate trend it seems. There is no ultimate goal besides increased domination over our fellow man. (9/11 was not an inside job, but I wouldn't put it passed the US government to have provoked it)
  12. It is very useful to have access to layers, though it isn't necessary. If I had to create sprites with only MSpaint I'm pretty sure I'd rage-quit, but that's just me, haha.

  14. Three presidents. Clinton went after him too. You know why it took so long? The US needs an enemy. There will always be a so called 'threat'.
  15. Tell you what would be funny, if this entire report was constructed to distract people from the impending economic collapse and provide a nationalistic booster-shot. Funny indeed. Good to know that the big scary boogeyman has finally carked it. Now we can all rest easy under the iron fist of statism :-D I know, I know, everyone ignore the crazy anarchist (me). He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, relax.
  16. I face-palm in disgust regarding this entire issue, urgh.
  17. Hm, you're right, it is similar to painting. I did also notice that the water in your sig is quite nice, have you ever tried to animate running water? I imagine that would be tedious.
  18. That's an interesting method, I may have to borrow from it to make my game backgrounds. I was wondering though, wouldn't people need a general feel for what they're pixelling before they just 'scribble' for detail? I know I would have to be very careful if I tried.
  19. Cacmypants

    Your a noob

Damn, no need to let grammatical errors ruin all the fun, they're just words, I'm sure you could discern the meaning from the context anyway. The English language is an all-round convoluted mess, but that's why we love it, right?
  20. Whatever, suit yourselves. I don't even play anymore so I guess you almighty pros know your stuff inside out *claps*
  21. This isn't about cheap ways to kill Miths or how to go about picking up drops -- this is about maximizing your efficiency in getting faster kills and completing slayer tasks sooner and maximizing your slayer XP. If you want to offer advice like that provided above -- then go to H&A. This is not the place to argue about whether or not you should range or mage Miths. It's clearly obvious that the rapier is more efficient faster under the right conditions. /thread Uh... ok then, so alknowledging the other two corners of the triangle is not allowed because you said so, awesome. I'm still pretty sure that going all-out with magic would be faster than all-out melee considering the dragon's primary weakness is...idk... magic? I was merely pointing out that even a lowly spell like slayer dart is good enough for the job, certainly not the 'best'.
  22. Because meleeing with a rapier is faster, and you don't spend money on runes, no matter how cheap they may be. Chaotic weapons have a price for each attack too, albeit cheaper, much cheaper if you use tokens as well, but then we get into all that opportunity cost crap, so you're probably better off without wasting the tokens.
  23. I found that slayer dart is a nice cheap way of killing them, why not use magic? lol
  24. Just throwing this out, sweetcorn is a little under half the exp of watermelon for almost 1000x less cost (last time I checked). Though I'd say by the time you're farming passed level 60 allotments can be a little slow, it's probably a bit overkill to be sinking gp into watermlon seeds when you could buy various tree seeds instead. I mean watermelon should average around 5k exp a run, and you're spending about 35k each time. You could around the same amount on papaya seeds (+600gp to ensure health) for 6k exp each check. Sure it takes longer though.
