  1. As someone who doesn't have level 10 trillion stats in everything (being sarcastic, I'm not an idiot) and being brand new to PvPing since when it was in the wildy I was like, level 17. My only PvP experience before this is hopping into the Wilderness then promptly being owned by mages and dying. Go me! PvPing is something new to me and many, many f2p people (I'm p2p btw) and I wear 3 items nearly most of the time when I go out in a PvP world. I can't afford to be buying brand new sets of rune or whatever every time I die. People go with 1/3/4 items because people often just can't afford to be dying and losing so much stuff and like me, they have no clue what they're doing out there in the big scary PvP worlds. I know I'm not going to get much, but I know that I won't loose much either. Not everyone is in a position where they can risk high to get high drops. If you don't like it then the answer is simple, don't fight them. Go off to somewhere that's not Lumbridge and fight how you want. But don't say that it's wrong or something like that because it's just a style of fighting, it might not be great or 'honourable' or whatever, but it's how some people fight so live with it.
  2. I hate to admit it but yeah, Firemaking is pretty useless and Smithing is dying out but: This idea is actually really interesting, I could see something like this working well and could help to bring more people back to smithing. Someone call Jagex :D I don't see how Fletching is useless though, if you're a ranger it'd be easier making your own bows and arrows than buying them. The thing is with this, skills don't mean anything if you have money. For us that don't have millions in the bank we cook our own food on our own fires, mine and smith our own armour for our own use ect. The Grand Exchange has changed this quite a bit but it's still this way for many people.
  3. I take pride that despite some of the bsers and the lack of a big competition, there were lots of us who fought with honour and pride for tip.it.
  4. It has to be said it wasn't a good fight. It was a good march through the Wildy though  I managed to kill one black cape I think then I died O_o I wasn't sure who killed me but I wasn't paying enough attention to my health because I assumed being as I was in a group of green capes with no white dots in sight I was as safe as I would get in a war. So I'm guessing I either just didn't see the white dots or got bsed. I'll get over it I was epxecting to die anyway because of my level and because it's war, I'm not sure the two and a half hour wait I did was worth it but I had fun and it was something different. My first Mssw wasn't great but it was okay. I wish I could have been there for the after party though! :D But after I died I just thought meh and argued with all the people outside Lummy bank bawling about how 'tip.it cheated!' 'tip.it lost haha.' and ect. tl;dr- I need to pay more attention. Good war but could have been a lot lot better.
  5. I'll be there. With my level 50 combat fail  Still, the more the merrier ^_^
  6. This. You speak the truth.
  7. Now I'd call myself half F2P and half P2P. Yes I've been a member in the past and I am currently, but I have the sort of stats as a F2P and spend time over there quite a lot and would give up my P2P if I needed the money for something else. Having been on both sides I can say without a doubt that there are morons on both sides. F2P morons are the ones shouting and spamming at banks asking 'giv rune plz plz plz plz.' and the P2P morons are the ones going 'haha, ur only level 129. gb2 f2p you n00b.' F2P sterotypes come from the fact that most people who play are younger children who either can't afford to get a membership, who have parents who won't pay it or who just don't want to pay and are happy playing for free. But the thing is, the idea of all F2P being n00bs is because most normal members who aren't n00bs aren't the ones shouting at the bank so you don't get a discussion on something in Lumbridge castle you get 'GIIIIIIVVVV GP!!!!' or 'SELLIN BRNZ HELM 1 MIL!' ect. You don't notice the 20 odd other players there just hapily going about their business. I really, and I mean really, hate the sort of snobbiness you can get from P2P people. Every single one of you have been a F2P at one point, even if it wasn't for long you were, and behing every single F2P account is a human being who gets offended when you call him/her an idiotic n00b because they can't afford the items and membership you can. My brother wanted to be a member, I told him NO way because the people on P2P worlds would just laugh and take the mickey out of him because of his level. Even I get it and it does my head in so much. Does it MATTER if you're paying or not, as long as you're having fun? As for F2P people whining for updates. I agree that some updates should be more P2P based but come on, the F2P world is tiny compared to the P2P world and there's so much more for members. I agree. F2P isn't a demo it's a game, and P2P is a game expansion for those who want more challenges or whatever you became a member for. So I for one, am going to stay just as polite to F2P members as I am P2P. Every one of us are playing the same game, the only thing that separates F2P and P2P is money and to be honest, there's enough problems with the rich laughing at the poor in the REAL world, why bring all that stuff into Runescape too? [/end long rambling post]
  8. I've been reading this thread and I've registered just so I can join in  I don't really have anything like high levels but I know what's n00by and using prayer isn't n00by. Fair enough if you're PKing and you've got protect prayers on then yeah it's kind of pointless but people who say that using prayer at all is skilless and n00by are the ones that need to take a reality check. It's a game, for one, there isn't LOTS of skill behind it anyway and one peice of advice I always follow is 'If it works, use it.' I don't know why people could say that a skill it stupid when Jagex put it there for a reason, they meant for it to be used. So what if I use prayer? if it keeps me alive to fight longer then why not? PKing code and all that rubbish? Hah. It's not my fault you tanked your prayer to be a pure, I didn't, so more power to me. *shrugs*
