  1. As a side question, is it possible for promethium spears to drop from forgotten warriors? I don't think I've yet to see any forgotten warrior wield any type of spear yet. I got a primal maul while solo. Too bad I couldn't wield it =) But to answer your side question, I just got a promethium spear and gauntlets from a forgotten warrior while soloing. Actually had two high level warriors on the same floor but the second didn't drop anything worthwhile.
  2. Kuradal's dungeon was released while I was taking a break from the game so I haven't used it yet. I'm wondering if it's worth it to use this dungeon since my agility is too low to use either of the shortcuts. Seems like a long run past a lot of beasts to get to iron dragons, for example.
  3. Hello! Any clans out there that fit the bill? Things I'm interested in: Working on all skills - After many years of playing Runescape I have no 99s and I'm in no rush, I just love getting that next level! Gathering resources - I'm the DIY type! Various Distractions & Diversions Slayer - A little chit chat to break up the monotony is always a good thing. Dungeoneering - I'm a dungeoneering noob. Dailies/Farm runs Skill competitions Community - Camaraderie, tips & tricks, new methods of doing things, advice. Things I'm not looking for: Posting/activity quotas - I already have a job, I play Runescape for fun! PVP Boss hunting - I could possibly be convinced but be forewarned, I have no experience in this and I HATE dying/losing my hard earned stuff! War Basically anything combat based that's not straight training Drama To sum it up, I'm looking for a group of like-minded individuals to enjoy the game with (preferably adults or mature younger folks). A place where I can pop in and chop some trees, do a quest, gather 12,593 snape grass or just shoot the breeze while training. I'm in CST if that matters (GMT -6 I believe). Thanks for reading! 4. I love this guide, thanks for the effort you've put into it. One small thing, for me there are no death runes to purchase at Ape Atoll. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious though!
  5. I've blocked: Steel Dragons - I find the irons pretty quick (except getting there, ugh) and doable in one trip so why not get a few chances at a visage? Kalphites - I try not to use cannon much and these take forever without it, not to mention world hopping. Greater Demons - Mostly because the wild dogs are still aggro to me, might unlock in a few levels. Warped Terrorbirds - Annoying, as most people agree with I think. I always do baby black dragons in the chaos tunnels. It's fast and most of the time there are others there fighting the greens so would rather not waste points skipping. I also do dagganoths in the chaos tunnels. It's usually empty and the task is extremely fast without the expense of the cannon. Just a few pray pots and the herbs, circular hides and alchables more than cover them. Goraks are a task I do splurge and use cannon on, makes the task go crazy fast and usually only get assigned 70 or so. Plus the gems are nice for a little crafting xp. Skeletal Wyverns aren't a favorite of mine but once you have the right setup and don't have to bank 50 times they're bearable. Plus there's always that chance for visage. Waterfiends - Even with just a bunyip they're doable and if you're still leveling summoning you'll want the crimsons anyway. Bloodvelds - Hate these. I just spent 500k on one task (cannonballs) and granted, my range is really low but that's a bit excessive for 15 pts. Not worth it but that's because I'm cheap =) I think I only skip: Aquanites - Too much hassle. Black Demons - Bleh. Just don't like them personally.
  6. I've had one drop in many years, off a nechryael during a slayer task.
  7. The same thing happened to me with a baby platypus. I've raised several animals to adulthood but the platypus was the only one that never gave me notifications when it was hungry, although I 'did' get the message that it had run away
  8. I'd like to add that this is not just a Runescape/WoW issue. I think every MMO's player base believes itself superior to the 'other' games. I've played Everquest II for many years in addition to Runescape and have also played the 'others' now and again. EQ2 players look down their nose at WoW players almost as much as they do Runescape players. That is, until they rage quit their current game and move on to the next, then the new game is of course superior to the old game they so heartily defended.
  9. I used to have the same problem loading RS with Firefox but RS would always load after refreshing the page a few times. I've not had any problems since firefox 3.0.6 was released. I know you said you just downloaded java but you might check that you actually got the newest version, especially if you didn't download it directly from java - Version 6 Update 12.
  10. I stopped in Blockbuster tonight and noticed they have a pretty big assortment of various gamecards. At least one of them listed Runescape as one of the games you can use it for. I believe it was the Ultimate Game Card that Jagex references in their 11/24/08 news article. I've not used this method so check it out thoroughly if you decide to try it.
  11. Thanks, this is exactly the kind of info I need! 1528 gold (terrorbirds to 61) 1349 crimson (400 leech to 64, 700 stranger plants to 68) Eliminating the greens saves me about 1m not to mention time saved and a few hundred crimsons left to play with.
  12. I've been saving up charms and according my calculations, I finally have enough for 68 and then some (currently at 58). My current charms and plan: 1528 gold (terrorbirds to 61) 1027 green (800 ibis to 64) 1349 crimson (700 stranger plants to 68) 308 blue (saving these I guess) This is based strictly on the recommendations in Kent's summoning guide but I wonder if there is a more efficient route given the charms I have to work with. TIA for input!
  13. Yep, I had my son help me finish that one up in a low population world, so it works.
  14. It looks as though you may have 28 mith in the furnace that can't be processed until you add the 56 coal. I accidentally get 'off' on my quantities sometimes and have to add coal to get the process moving again.
  15. Quick, maybe silly question - Does the tatty fur work for spirit graahk pouches or will only the 'good' fur work?
  16. I can't take credit for this method but I do find it the most painless of those I've tried or have the required levels for. It does require access to the fairy rings and the magic whistle from the Holy Grail quest. Take the ring from Zanaris to BJR, blow the whistle and you're just a few steps north of the 10 gold nodes on Brimhaven mentioned by another poster. When done, head back north to the fairy ring, run across the bridge to the second fairy ring and you're back in Zanaris to bank. The drawback is that you can only carry 26 gold since you have to wield the staff and carry the pickaxe and whistle. Not too bad if you have a beast of burden to bring along.
  17. I've also been playing RS for many years intermittently. I generally spend more time playing other mmos but always come back to RS during my down periods in the other games. There are times I actually feel overwhelmed with so many skills to work on yet can't force myself to do anything but check my bank and read forums. As others have stated, slayer is a good one. I do it not so much for xp but for variety and a change of scenery. It forces me to go out and explore and see monsters and areas I otherwise wouldn't and it's a fun challenge for someone like me who also isn't big into combat. I think what keeps me interested most though is reading the forums at various sites and learning new, more effective training methods to try. I wanted to get smithing up for a quest but dreaded the tedious hours I would have to devote to it. Reading the suggestions of other players has given me so many options to switch up when I get bored with one and that really makes it a lot easier to work on skills that I find very monotonous. I do tend to spend most of my time playing alone also :? The age difference is sometimes an issue although I have met a few really good young people that I still hear from occasionally to this day. Feel free to add me for company while skilling, etc.
