  1. Well, happy Boxing Day ^.^ [+12 GMT...] It's been a great day, filled with drinking and fun. So, Merry Xmas to those poor off topic-ers who live in the Northen Hemisphere [Cold, yeah?] \
  2. Unfortunately you are making a common mistake here, though it is understandable, given the various definitions of atheism on the internet; [hide=Atheism]- Absence of belief in the existence of God or gods en.wiktionary.org/wiki/atheism - Refers to the denial of any religious belief, the absence of belief in any deity or deities, or the position that religious belief is no different ... en.citizendium.org/wiki/Religion - The lack of belief in a god and/or the belief that there is no god. The position held by a person or persons that 'lack belief' in god(s) and/or deny that god(s) exist. http://www.carm.org/atheism/terms.htm The list goes on, but the main point of contention is this: Is Atheism an assertion of belief or lack of belief? While it seems pedantic, the definition is very important in formal argument and debate, as if Atheism is merely a lack of theistic belief, the burden of proof rests upon those who assert a divine existence.[/hide] It seems to define what 'Atheism' means, we must first define theism: [hide=Theism]- the doctrine or belief in the existence of a God or gods wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn - belief in the existence of one or more deities; belief in the existence of a personal creator God, especially by or through revelation (i.e, with no evidence other than faith or introspection) en.wiktionary.org/wiki/theism - The belief that there is a God or gods. http://www.fitzwimarc.org.uk/glossary/t.htm[/hide] With those understandings of theism in mind, we turn towards the word Atheism. The attachent of an affix, 'a-', to theism changes it to literally mean 'without theism' or 'lacking theism'. Thus, the logical poistion is that Atheism is not an assertion on the non-existence of God, it is a contrary position to theistic assertions of God' existence. Whilst this may seem majorly off topic, what it leads up to is that the position of no religion is implicity atheistic, thus giving lie to the current argument of atheistic numbers being in decline. Also, by this standard, the postion of agnosticism is in fact 'atheistic'. ;)
  3. Personally, I'd advise against it, as the Combat levels in which the F2P Mage dominate are small enough as it is. [it starts to go downhill by level 45...] 59 Magic also tends to be easily enough to bind as it is, so the robes aren't neccessary. Also, once you tire of mage Pking, you can turn the account into a nice and efffective pure, without wasting all the time and energy you took in raising their magic to 59+. Hope that helped. ;)
  4. - No? What about when they are being ridiculous? - Unfortunately, I think you missed the irony. "..which as Atheists, we faithfully know to be wrong." The joke being that Atheists tend to lack 'faith' in the commonly accepted sense of the word. Admitttedly, I was indulging my inner troll to a degree [he doesn't get fed very often!], so I did deserve that reprimand ;) . - So you are agreeing that Creationism is not worthy of serious scientific consdieration...? - I'm sure there are too, but unfortuantely these tend not to be discussed in off topic gaming forums. It does tend to degenerate, something which I can appreciate you actively oppossing. However, the fact that you would rather talk about something else doesn't mean that you should ignore the how wrong your opponents are in the 'done to death' parts of religious discussion :) . On a side note: Could you PM me with how you'd actively apply Godel's Theorem to the Bible - done a very fast and light bit of reading and can't see someone would go about it. * Arg - having trouble with quote format. Apologise for dreadful eyestrain... #-o
  5. My goodness, where do you live? [seriously, is discrimination against atheism that bad in your country of residence?] If theists are not engaged in active and lively debate, they are not forced to consider and question their own beliefs and world views, which as Atheist, we faithfully know are wrong ;) . If, as you suggested, we treat Creationism as a subject worthy of serious discussion and debate, we implicity confer to it the status of a real, viable, alternative theory. Which it is not. Thus, personally, I feel Reb's ridicule is justified.
  6. 1. How the hell does homosexual marriage hurt the economy? [in reference to Government seizure of property on death if next of kin is not named..?] 2. Since when has the Bible, or any religion for that matter, had intellectual property rights to the term 'marriage'? Why can't same sex couples call their relationship a 'Marriage' and be afforded the same rights as hetrosexual couples, especially in our [i'm assuming here] nomitaivily secular western societies? For a non religious view on the purpose and evolution of Marriage, I reccommend the below links. Here for the full text. For a more succient Wikipedia summary, here. Personally, I couldn't care less what consenting adults get up too.
  7. First of all, a few tips when posting Graveyard H&A: i) You will get few enough replies as it is, so do not discourage potential posters with blatant flaunting of forum ettiquiete - do not be CAPS HAPPY, ignorant of basic capitalisation, grammar, punctuation or spelling. These are just general TIF posting standards, which seem to be ignored by a large number of people :? . ii) Try to be more descriptive in your choice of title: 'HELP ME ON PKER PLOX' is pretty vauge. A better title might be; "Help on Low Level F2P Range/2H Pker'. In answer to your question; - No, your Hitpoints are normally high with a Range/2H, a side effect of training both Strength and Range. However, after a while Hitpoints tend to eat into your combat levels a bit too much, so I would reccommend using non combat spells to train Magic. Magic isn't all that important in F2P, as it ceases to be a major pking tool after 50 Combat. Of you can afford it, curse/alch to 60, no higher. - I believe around 85 - 90 Strength Scim/2H becomes more effective, though you will still find Range far more effective at hitting through Defence. - Corrupt Dragon Weapons are potential drops from Pking in F2P PVP Servers, and require 60 Attack to use, so I do not reccommend [as a pure] training to use them. I believe they sell relatively well, though not from personal experience. I hoped that helped. :
  8. Im sorry, but I have to disagree with you here. Sure, the controls are buggy and there are fools who contributed absolutely nothing to the game, but that aspect isn't limited merely to GoP. However, GoP gives non members an incentive to Runecraft, something which was; a) Utterly avoided before [most of F2P fitted into this category] B) Trained to 44 in F2P and then the account holder immediately acquired members and went off to craft Natures. c) Was trained only by the hardcore total level and skill purists. In all the above the cases, it was painfully slow - with no Glories, Abyss, Pouchs, Weight Reducing items or decent monetary incentive to aid you in leveling it. GoP introduced remedied that to a certain extent, granting access to attractive Skilling gear, Pseudo Teletabs and much, much faster training. I do appreciate your point about having slacking 'good-fer-nuthin' team mates who merely hinder your mini game experience, but that doesn't make Grand Orb Project a 'biggest fail' by any stretch of the imagination.
  9. What kind of question is that? Of course I laugh at other users posts, especially if they are witty or funny. As they say; "If you can't take a joke, you shouldn't have joined." After a certain time in off topic forums [not neccessarily this one] you grow desensitized to the general stupidity of humanity, so I tend to take 'stupid' arguments and comments in my stride, privately giggling to myself with a smug sense of superiority. Obviously I don't go around replying "OmFgz0r N00bs!1 Lawlz - l2post...". Remember - while everyone has the right to freedom of expression, that does not include the right to be taken seriously. ;)
  10. By now you seem to have grasped the fact that people tend not to help in Graveyard H&A - probably because it doesn't contribute towards your post count, or the majority of forum users have no idea -.- . I'd reccommed that you raise his attack level to around 50, as you will mostly be fighting other Pkers with 40 + Defence, so the extra 10 levels helps enourmously and alos helps to raise you out of the average Pure combat level zone [you know what I mean..]. Obviously you will be wanting to raise Strength as high as possible, but 75 Strength before PKing would be an achievable goal - both to raise your hitpoints, which are rather low for your combat level and up your max hit. In terms of training, I reccommend Fleshcrawlers on the second level of the Stronghold of Security. At 40 Defence they will very rarely, if ever hit through your Rune, so an inventory of Cake will last a very, very long time : .
  11. Ah, but Ginger - apart from Runescape [discussion of which is banned here], Religion and Politics are the only things worth talking about.
  12. Username: Noobs Lament Combat: 33 [May change due to training..] Timezone: +12 GMT F2P/P2P: F2P *Will only befighting in the duel arena. ;)
  13. Personally, although it is only a small thing, I would like the addition of several Maple trees to F2P Runescape - nothing ridiculous, but just enough that dazed newbies don't spend hours searching for the source of Maple logs. ;) Other than that I am relatively content - F2P *has* had a lot of updates, though my Christmas wishlist includes Snare for non-members. \
  14. For a decent Range 2her, you want to have maxed out Strength in relation to your Range level. What I mean is that if you effectively keep Range at [2/3]*[Attack+Strength Levels] you will not increase your combat level, apart from through raising Hitpoints. Thus at 60 Range, you can have a total of 1.3*60 Attack and Strength levels - assuming you want to stay 40 Attack, you can have 50 Strength. Another problem is that at your combat levels, the opponents tend to use sub-rune combat gear, so you are less likely to get good drops either PVP-ing or [God Forbid] Bounty Hunting. I'd personally reccommend you raise your stats before you start Range/2H PKing. I recommend something along the lines of; Attack: 40 Strength: 65 Defence: 1 Range: 70 Hitpoints: C. 65 Magic: 60 [Obtained through Cursing] Prayer: 1 Combat 50 This gives you a possible Combo of 19, [Potted] with a Rune 2H and 12 with Addy arrows on Rapid, a total of 31 - effectively 50% of anyone your combat levels health [remember you have above average HP from raising both Range and Strength]. *Edit: For Pures, Prayer below combat 56 is a very bad idea, as it raises your combat level rather fast and means that you can spend less time in low crater bounty hunter [the Nirvana time for pures]. Also in terms of combat levels to extra hits and benefits you acquire from stat boosting prayer, it is not worth it for a stat below level 80 and even then you are sacrificing precious HP levels. Hope that helped.
  15. I currently have a defence pure come skiller who I'd like to turn into a decent PK-er or Staker. Unfortunately, I already have 40 Defence [without Dragon Slayer] so I can't be a F2P Rune Pure. My immediate thought was Boxing or Verac Staking, both of which require a high defence and low strength level. Is this a viable option for duel tournaments [either boxing and/or Veracing]? In term of Stats, I was thinking along the lines of: Attack: 70 + Strength: 25 Defence: 70 Prayer: 1 Magic: 45 [for Teleportation] Range: [?] Hitpoints: C. 65 Advice/Criticism invited
