  1. It's not a time 'split' All the quests required for full TWW completion are the past ONCE you have them all. Any new quests following on from them or TWW are in the new 6th age. Any quests with no link at all happen in whatever age you decide to do them in. Basically it just makes certain stories time sensitive - specifically like all the stories that could lead to godly returns. Right but if you don't have the reqs to fully complete all of the quests that set up tww, how are you able to complete them in the past? You'd have to train your skills in the sixth age to go back on time and do them... The age does not move forward until you complete ALL of the requirements. Hence why the only thing showing the age has moved forward (the 6th age circuit) is only given when you have all the reqs. The logic issue of npcs appearing in the quest without their associated quests is nothing to do with the time shift since they all occur in the 5th age. It's to do with Jagex fart-head logic going for low reqs but including npcs that clearly have reqs. But that's not true, from this point forward updates will happen in the 6th age, the clock has now started moving forward for everyone. In terms of game content perhaps, but that doesn't mean all new quests are. Plus Jagex never said new content happens in 6th age only it assumes TWW has happened ergo gods are more active eg hence the god-based wildy warbands. First off apologies for huge quote train, on my phone so can't edit it down easily. But if TWW has happened, and updates from here on assume gods will be more active, then it is the 6th age. The monumental event that brought us into the sixth age was the breaking of the edicts.

I'm not talking about npc problems, I'm talking about your avatar developing new skills and having new items further in the past. Actually, that gives me another complaint: I don't know if you need all of the quests for the new ring, so could you wear the 6th age circuit in quests that happen in the fifth age?

  4. Ok, one thing I'm not getting about the time splitting: you train your skills in the present and get better items in order to complete things that happened in the past? March 4th 2013, the day the dragon broke.
  5. Once I had one random immediately follow another, and it's worth noting that the second one replaced the first one.
  6. Looking forward to it, only complaint I can see is that it looks like everything takes place in one dungeon which is kinda sad. I miss the globe-trekking.
  7. Poor planning on my part has made this more of a grind for me than it had to be. Now I have ~3600 bamboo to get for various building upgrades and I'm less than 3/4 of the way to the bowl. Still, considering I don't have a computer here and have to brave the arctic (Read: Minnesotan) winter to use public computers I'm not doing too bad. Really the only thing I seriously regret is not getting scrolls faster.
  8. dat storyline High expectations, this is something they cannot afford to screw up.
  9. Doubtful, when oxygen concentrations go up the volatility of the atmosphere goes up, and we would all be setting ourselves on fire when we cast any fire spell.
  10. I'll give science a shot. Since insects breathe through tubes in their exoskeleton his continued breathing is merely a function of surface area to volume. My theory is that, as he is so large he will start to suffocate as soon as he spawns due to his respiratory system being unable to keep up, thus all I have to do is wait him out. Sciencescape! The way I heard it explained is that for an insect to be twice as large as it normally would be, the oxygen in the atmosphere would have to be twice as prevalent. Basically because they "breathe" through tiny openings in their exoskeleton where the oxygen disperses and then it's put into the bloodstream. That's actually why in illustrations of some times in Earth's past there are like giant dragonflies, because at some points our atmosphere was like 20% oxygen which could sustain huge insects.
  11. So the PoP armor wouldn't fit into your theoretical game design?
  12. My favorite storyline so far is the convict, just because it's having a lot of fun with zany situations. Also I think he's right to be taking the player character down a peg or two considering that to get him we have to be 90 thief.
  13. And the verdict is "Trolling". Goodbye. Did you or did you not literally write, post #4 on page 1: I do not get what your beef is about this statement. Really, I'm not trying to talk down to you or anything this seems reasonable to me. What Alg, I think, was getting at is that before pvm could be done reasonably by someone who doesn't wring every gp into nex armor and who sets every goal directed towards pvm. Personally, any armor above barrows is the first to go when I want to spend on something else, like skills. And yes, I get your argument that I'm not hiking up my virtual bootstraps, and under your logic I'm not. I am spending money on things that don't have any purpose if the only goal is to be a better bosser. But that's not everyone's goal in rs. Some people would rather spend money getting some skill cape than a torva helm. And what I, and I think a lot of others are afraid of, is making pvm too elite. This update, and the tone it sets, more steeply favors those that only think of pvm, and since the best money will stay there, anyone whose primary enjoyment doesn't derive from bossing slowly dies away, or at least becomes much less enjoyable.
  14. They said they would only buff boss monsters (like gwd/corp)
  15. Gf me doing the range slayer dungeon with any kind of success. What I liked was being able to go to new slayer monsters (Gano, jadinko) in barrows-tier armor and still do reasonably well. Sounds like I'll be needing arma, if not pernix to do that, and I do not have the money for that.
  16. It was too late for a rollback and so they did the next thing they could.
  17. 84 con, and ~80k con exp per month so I can't complain. I lol'd when I got one set of scaffolds that used 15 pieces, none higher than 3 and none lower than 3.
  18. That definitely affects your sleeping >_> Maybe I worded that wrong. It doesn't affect how much rest I'm getting. Probably because I have a lot of free time over the holidays, so if I need more sleep, I can sleep more until I'm not tired. I don't really see it as any different than waking up twice in the night to go to the bathroom or have a drink of water. If I recall a lot of people use the same strategy to power train farming, especially during bxpw. So not like this is unfamiliar to 'scapers.

  20. I thought the aura glow was too messy with the background.
  21. Ok, not sure if someone else has had a similar experience, but I just sent out a ship with an ETA of 1:08 at an 85% success rate, and no kidding it returned in less than three minutes. I'm sure there's some variation but has anyone else had a noticeably shorter trip? Oh and it was a success btw, so it's not like it failed immediately and then came back to shore.
  22. Hmmm... I just chose my whaler scroll special voyage out of 3 possible voyages for his character, but they didn't give me normal voyages extra instead. Maybe after its return? I still have two assassin special voyages in the list though, maybe that's a factor too. I am absolutely adoring this update by the way. It's been a long time since I was this keen on logging in. I had two missions with the biologist, one was combined with the whaler. Sent out at 90% and came back failed. So that's two special missions and the only one left was meet the missionary. And when his cutscene happened I freaking hated him. I'm sorry but as soon as he said, "I'm going to build a church that all the heathens will bow and worship" (Paraphrasing a bit, but I do distinctly remember the word heathens) I just wanted to say "Nope."
