Session postponed for 4 1/2 hours on account of mothers day and my mother wanting to do a family activity.

I apologize, it was not my intent to ridicule anyone who wanted to start up a new game. I was just offering a few tips on how to make a character as close to the gold standard (Raven Dementia whatever, I wasn't able to get through a fair bit of My Immortal (read: damned near all of it)) of Mary Sues as possible). As for the second bit, I apologize again, I am/was unsure of character creation so I thought of a bit of a joke power (make puppies appear in someone's chest cavity/brain). Hell I'm not quite sure what type of game this is going to be.

I'd think you could improve it if you made her a half-elf vampire, whose mother was the girl from Twilight and whose father was Harry Potter. Give her purple hair and rainbow eyes too. And you aren't saying enough about how beautiful and talented she is. She could ride the unicorn too. Just some friendly advice. Of course she's beautiful, but she's also an underdog, so that's why she's human. I imagine everyone else with have super races. Her hair/eye color also needs to change with her mood. Oh and throw sephiroth from final fantasy and some pseudo japanese in too. Just some advice from occasionally looking through Deviant Art characters and trolling respectfully reading and offering constructive criticism live journals. EDIT: Can my character's power be to make puppies appear anywhere? ANYWHERE?
-
Can I use the book of Exalted deeds to better represent myself? I think I deserve the saint template... On a more serious note, are you allowing magic/heroic classes or not? Because if it just us in real life then there's going to be one hell of a lot of commoners/experts/(possibly) warriors.

Retech, if you are interested in them I believe I have some 3rd party dming supplies (Green Ronin put out an Advanced GM's guide) as well as some tokens/map generators/name generators/ interesting books that deal with players/ oxford guides to writing (those I haven't had the time to read through yet). EDIT: Mather it's a RP forum period. There's no distinction between soft and hard RP iirc, though if there ever is one made and this turns out to be a soft rp forum I guess we'll have to take the threads to the OT.

Session starts in two and a half hours or so.

I'm not running Kinmaker on saturdays actually; if you want something to do the city creation rules are on the second post. You can choose three places to build your city off of. Olegs Trading Post: The trading post is a versatile structure built to serve as a place of business. If the PCs decide to found a city in this hex, they can incorporate Olegs as a free Shop, Stable, or Watchtower in their city grid (once chosen, the function of Olegs within the new city cannot be changed). Temple of the Elk: Although the Temple of the Elk is partially ruined, building a city here gives the PCs a head start on a Temple, halving the initial cost of building such a structure. The Stag Lords Fort: Located at the heart of the Greenbelt on a defensible hill near a plentiful source of water, fishing, and trade, the Stag Lords Fort may be the single best place to place a capital city. The fort itself gives the PCs a head start on building a castle, halving the initial cost of such a structure. In addition, if the PCs make this site their capital city, their nation gains a +1 bonus on Economy, Loyalty, and Stability due to its centralized location and ease of defense.

In light of the dungeomaster campaign, a poll has been set up. I will explain the systems as necessary.

Well, I waited an hour or so and when no one other than mask (occasionally (joking)), retech and nex showed up decided to cancel the session for today.

I would like to remind everyone that I am using these books as guidelines little more. I do change a fair few things around in the books (more so this time than last time).

I have managed to get a hold of the 40k Vassal module. It is glorious. For those who don't know Vassal is a virtual table top (that may or may not be able to run pathfinder I'll have to look into that) that can be used to play a multitude of of war games, 40k included, it does this quite a bit better than maptool does as well. The only problem being that GW did their usual bricks [cabbage]ting and sent a cease and desist letter to Vassal so there's now no 40k modual on their website (if you are interested PM me about why this is the case).

Session starts in 1 hour 45 minutes give or take.

I'm running it tomorrow. I have to be off the computer at irregular intervals today.

Okay, first off in a response to retech. To be blunt, I've looked over ross's character sheet, and he's not trying to powergame with the class, he just finds it cool. I trust ross enough to think that he will not abuse some of the more powerful parts of the class. You on the other hand seem to try to powergame every system we play in, case in point the hegemony games, you play them as a numbers game rather than a more roleplaying game. With this (And the experiences from the last kingmaker) in mind I can't exactly trust you to not play up to broken points. And yes, ross can cast unlimited spells per day, at least in theory. He does, however need to make increasingly difficult UMD checks to use the item more each day and if he fails the check the item breaks. Coupled with his limited amount of spells and the fact that he can't cast them over level 4 I wouldn't call the artificer broken. On a note towards nex: Check the setting, the gods/ how celestials work change depending upon the setting. Forgotten realms (2nd ed in all of it's horrible horrible glory) is quite different when contrasted to a setting like Golarion which is different from Greyhawk which is different from Eberron. Look through the rules and the fluff for the setting. There's a golaripedia iirc as well, to help with some fluff decisions.
-
Getting past some fluff problems like Trithereon not being in any setting outside of Greyhawk, how in the hell did you afford a +3 keen Adamantine scythe? That would cost a total of 32,000 gold if I remember the formula I used correctly, 18,000 if you factored in the heirloom bonuses to it. On a related note, exactly what do the bonuses next to the scythe mean? The bonuses to hit with it? The enchantment bonus? Also, 18 strength and yet still only 100 pounds? That would mean that your character would be capable of lifting three times her own body weight over her head. You can go with it I suppose but it doesn't really make sense to me. I will edit more in when I have the time to (need to do something for a bit).

Retech... there is something known as a happy medium between powergaming and moderating yourself to character concepts. Quite frankly I would not like to use ANY third party books for balance issues. I would say that the priest class isn't exactly balanced either. If you want a buffing cleric then play a buffing cleric, third party is pretty much always a bad idea (case in point; fursona, without ANY real min/maxing I can get +10 strength at character start up). Mask: I would say that you just want to have a basic idea of what motivates your character and what he/she has been through as well as any goals that may pertain.

If you need to be told that quitting throughout the game will annoy the hell out of the GM... I've been keeping track for awhile and have been meaning to post it. If you want to go fighter by all means go ahead, just stick well within the rules and pick a semi decent character concept (where does your character come from, what has shaped him/her, why is he/she here in the first place, etc.).
-
First off nex, I was going to let you create a shuriken that was within the amount of money you could spend. That... thing was not in the amount you could spend; furthermore, a fair bit of the enchantments could not be used on a ranged weapon or ranged ammunition. Finally, if you were to make a shuriken like that it would break after being thrown once or twice. Oh and I think this would be as good a time as any to announce something. I am (and have been) doing a three strike policy after three strikes I will put it up to a vote in the group (possibly just the people who are on) whether or not to put you on a sort of probation. If they vote no on the probation, I am kicking the person in question. I am not dealing with this [cabbage]. As a rundown of people who have strikes it is Nex: [X] for the first quitting in a huff [X] for the second baw quit/duel fiasco after stating "I'm better than you and have better things to do" Retech: [X] The duel fiasco, seriously that was irritating.

Bah, perhaps you're right, perhaps you're wrong. I'll look in further into it. There are some additional rules that I need to put up on the first post for city creation. I'll get to that today or tomorrow and post on the thread about it.

Show me the FaQ for pathfinder that the constrictor doesn't lose its grab attack. There is a fair bit of a difference between the Pathfinder core rules and the 3.X core rules. For one druids are not basically one man parties (spell caster and tank with wild shape) in pathfinder. I have not gone with the community interpretation always, I have gone with my interpretation of the rules. The advancement attacks seem to be replacements of the ones listed. Or would you rather have the snake doing 1d3 and 1d4 bite damage an attack (if they are cumulative)?
-
Nex, the sword would be an NPC and thus controlled by the GM. The GM does not necessarily like to have to make yet another NPC, so the GM may get some enjoyment out of the sword at inopportune times. Retech, the rules state that you can take either a viper or a constrictor. I am going by the rules. I know that the constrictor is more powerful (aside from the fact that with its advancement it loses its grab attack and gains constrict). I will be running a session of this next week, probably at the usual time. However as arch should be gone for the rest of next week I have a free time slot. This could be used for a variety of things, running a second session of this, giving me a free day on the weekend, or running an exposé of a different system.
-
It says that you may choose a viper or constrictor snake animal companion. It would seem that you get the slightly more powerful constrictor snake rather than the crocodile. On a side note I've found a semi decent use to the Fursona book, that is to say to create truly horrific monsters. So far I have a sea elf that has: an aqua jet (it intakes water and expels it to move at 400' a round when submerged), a grappling tongue (lets the beast grapple with a 15' reach), blood sucking (Exactly what it says on the tin), an ink cloud, an ovipositor, a trait that lets it regurgitate the blood it sucks, an electric field which allows it to deal 1d6 electrical damage when it touches something, the disadvantage of a foul smell and a wendigo template. Now think about that for a second. try to imagine it.
-
Well for one thing, the elemental bloodline isn't exactly what you would call good (there are worse iirc, like destined but not too many). I would steer away from magic missile and mage armor as well (more magic missile than mage armor) and instead put in something like enlarge person. Overall it's fairly good though. Here's the character that I made if anyone's interested (you will need to edit the spells known though, it got kind of screwed up in the creation). http://www.mediafire.com/file/t1cduh55ps0gs7h/Cipriano.pdf
