I think there's a game called Vampire:Dark ages or something along those lines (let me check my library) or something called Danse Macabre which is set in around the time period you're looking for.

It's not so much the furry bit I take mild offense to it's the side bars (one of them mentions nay recommends using a spell to force another player's character into a (and I am quoting now iirc) "a more furry form") which manage to be both wholly off topic, in poor taste and seem to have a bit of a persecution complex as well (I think I only got that vibe once though). I did not know that you were a furry though (I apologize for any misconceptions this may have caused) I was merely talking about how a fair bit of those books were imbalanced as hell (or just plain creepy. Like taking an attribute known as "Tentacle bait" (which is exactly what it says on the tin) creepy). Like lone druid in a party of monks in 3.X imbalanced as hell (or a single advanced house cat in a party of commoners).

The Space Diaries
Bah, might as well jump on this band wagon as well. Stardate: 103.7.22.33 EF Mon Dieu, it would seem that I have made a grave mistake, when I thought I was joining a team of crack explorers, pilots and adventurers (much like myself) it would seem that I instead chartered an asylum vessel or one of those wretched ships where they sanction psykers. In the course of one day I have; fought off a Kalinka invasion, seen a robbery stopped by a trained battle psion (the blood was everywhere) stopped an engineering uprising with stun grenades, watched a man be castrated and subsequently killed the castrator, seen the castrati kill a man with a blow torch, fought off yet another prisoner revolt, become privy to some encounters of the amorous nature and been kicked in the testicles. Twice. All before I had a decent lunch ,and yet I get the vague feeling that somehow, things are going to get far, far worse. May god have mercy on my soul. Thought for the day- Never trust an Italian. -Chief petty officer Jacques de la poubelle.

I'd be fine with whatever (the current situation is not exactly impossible) and would be willing to roll with (pun unintended) with whatever the group decides. Hell if enough people want to try a completely different system I'm up for that as well (unless it's something like FATAL or Furry Pirates or BoEF or something along those lines). Fair warning to all though, while I am willing to type up a general description of how FATE works for the Dresden Files rpg (it's not that complex of a system, especially when compared to the likes of D&D). On the same vein, character creation and city creation in the Dresden files rpg are a rather involved, whole group project. What I mean by city creation is that the group sits down and takes a modern city (for example San Francisco) and adds super natural elements, identifies underlying themes of the city (ex Gateway from the East) and identifies threats, that may or may not represent one of the themes (ex: Yakuza/Tengu (and I mean the Tengu from Japanese mythology)/etc. presence) as well as a "face" (an NPC who represents on some level the theme or threat) for every theme or threat (ex: Yakuza boss Kenji Hirosaki, Jade court vampire). So, tl;dr choose what you want to do as a group, I'm open to just about anything (except things like those mentioned above). On a side note I've read through the third party pathfinder supplement called "Fursona". I don't know how I feel about it honestly. On the one hand it has traits that are pretty much labeled as fetish fuel and treats charisma as physical beauty. On the other hand I can make a lady bug necromancer or a spider assassin. EDIT: Yes, VtM has a video game associated towards it. I've heard mixed review of the game (both the PnP and the video game) though I would imagine it would be very fun to play (and if all fails there is Mr Bombadini) if you had the right group.

Grav weapons, MD weapons, meson weapons, ion cannons, etc. All of them use kt to be created and all of them could be used to kill the deceased relatives, which you could then turn into more weapons and...

I took a break from this for a week or so to let thing simmer down from last session. I am willing to continue this game if others are interested. If not I will either double up RT on weekends, or get a free day on weekends or possibly try out yet another system (Dresden Files rpg springs to mind).

As I see it, the bodies aren't doing anything and are letting precious KT go to waste, as long as earth is discrete about it I have no problems with it.

high school water wars
My school has a tradition of doing this, I've been working on rigging a gasoline powered air compressor, some tubing a couple of water tanks and yet more tubing together to create something like a truck bed (possibly with a mount in front of the sun roof, depending upon how heavy the mount would be) mounted water machine gun, but that's neither here nor there. My advice is, create at least one non aggression pact with a team that you can trust (preferably one that should be in no contact with you, ie on the other side of town) and let them clear up teams outside of your effective range (then obviously, ambush them after they have outlived their worth). That and make sure that you can trust your team mates (or always stay at the back of any formation).

Well... [cabbage]. I accidently deleted the five pages of a research paper that is due tomorrow. Derp. At any rate at least I have my bibliography.

Resistance, Volta=NPC=Played by the GM=Royal Chance to screw you over if the GM feels like it. Just don't steal from people, it won't end well (unless we all act in concert ie in a tech theft mission). Hmm, Icu have you ever thought of using making people into servitors as a viable punishment for crimes committed on your colony? Also, why would the R&D ship need so many people?

The Back Room
I'm a bit leery of how well it will go honestly (What, have you seen the dresden files on HBO?), but only time will tell I suppose (pun unintended).

Resistance, I am willing to let it go, however fair warning; if you do the same thing on Nero's ship I will revoke your walking and fine manipulation privileges. That is to say that I will cut off your hands and legs and cauterize the wounds with a blow torch. How would we handle the heavy surveillance anyways (I propose a member of Jonathan's team be assigned to follow each around and stay in constant radio contact).

I propose another option, we all forget about this whole debacle. Everything turned out well enough in the end and the combatants will be on different ships (Ross on Vasily's and Resistance on the R&D ship). That being said, if this goes any further and if someone is to try to grief, let it be said that I support ross in this.

By taking weapons (an unnecessary number might I add)from the armory when you had no idea where the Kalinka were you deprived the security personnel of their higher quality weapons. This constitutes a clear and present danger to the well being of the ship and is punishable by death. Furthermore you have not adressed the trying to steal a ceremonial sword that would be of no use to you aside from to sell it.

What's with you and rape anyways? Throughout the end of the session I remember you asking "why do people care when their characters get raped" and such (as well as talking about raping player characters). And yes, the tavern does take a guilty until proven innocent approach (which you should be well aware of). And there is evidence of stealing, there were ion cannons in the armory, you took said ion cannons and stuffed them in a bag and then left. You were not authorized to take an ion cannon much less 9 of them so you are, by definition stealing.

One question, does it take the full sum of merits to raise a talent from one level to another (ie raise a level 2 talent to a level 3 would still cost 2,000) or is it cumulative (ie a level 2-3 raise would cost 1,000 merits)

Thanks arch that really helped! On a side note, does anyone else on Vasily's ship have ranks in pilot?

Vasiliy's Ship. This might not end well and almost certainly won't go as planned but at the very least they will be interesting.

Well...yes...[cabbage]. At any if you see where I live (in an upper class college town) I'd say it fits the town rather well. And it lets me impersonate one of the three musketeers.

It would appear that I have the Shire of Windy Meads in my area. I'll have to check it out (it should be fun). Also, depending on how it was used the rapier could be very, very deadly, because good luck blocking a lunge after a couple of stabs to the face and the hands.

The Back Room
It's quite fun, at least after you get past some of the exercises that you do to get in shape (ie wall sits for intervals of 5-10 minutes and hitting the gym for squats). At least for the foil (and modern fencing) it's almost all muscle memory (or insanely quick reflexes, but I find muscle memory to be better [mainly because it works well with better reflexes]) and quick wrist movement. If you want to pick it up, I'd advise to look into possible classes at the community or fencing clubs that are looking for new recruits. It's a great way to get into better shape (and you get to hit people. with swords.) and is in general very very fun. EDIT: Oh, and the rapier I've ordered is on the way. Should be interesting (I think there are some people nearby who would be willing to teach me the renaissance style fencing techniques). Oh and god damned Californian laws that forbid me from buying a butterfly knife (fairly understandable) and a sword cane. (I have been able to sell a surprising number of bicycles on craigslist so I have a bit of cash to use, and I've already bought all of the rpg books that I am using).

Does anyone else here fence? I've been thinking from switching from foils to epees and wonder what I should expect.
