We'll be mostly disregarding that sort of thing. We're going to act like none of these empires actually existed, right? Just the nationalities/cultures. No borders yet. I haven't decided who I want to be yet, but if no one minds (grim?), I'd like to place a claim for part of southeastern China. That would be the Southern Song dynasty in 450 AD, with the people perhaps labeled as Cantonese and Fujianese. Though I kind of think playing as a barbarian tribe would be cool. Bah chinas huge could you wait until after I post where I am setting up camp till you show where you are?

we are claiming cultures. For instance I am the chinese in this new thread and ross is the egyptians I think we start out with 100k people and we should be able to expand from there (up to a point of reason)

Well I am moving all of my colonists and putting up the 1k helios orbs I got into the earthlike planet in the eresu system. In other words the clones which I bought from RPG have come into adult hood (the nano enhancements speed up growth among other things).

It was mostly a claim to culture and yes as we each have something like 10-100k people it would be easy to live as neighbors.

I already called southern China...and I thought we were only claiming land, not civilizations or tech. Though I take it we haven't decided anything in the 2 hours I was gone. Has doom even posted since we started discussing this? actually I believe I said that I have dibs on china before you did also you mentioned that you wanted the mongols... my post yours It would appear that I beat you by a good 2 minutes

I've been saving up billions each year. Started research on them a while ago, but now that I remember they're actually plasma cannons. Whatever. They still shoot stuff. If I remember correctly plasma is quite different than ions.

.... Type coherently. [hide=Translation]Wow, now that Rocco's said that I'm all in for magic.[/hide] Good idea about the conversion Rocco, hehe. Hadn't thought of that. Federation cargo and transport ships are being turned into carriers. Also, production on nukes has been ramped up, so as to try and equip the fighters with at least 1 each. Very costly. Anyways, corners are being cut and a flood of new workers sent to work on Ragnarok, so it should be done in time. dusty nukes cost 25 billion each you just said that your fund was going for mercenary armies so I doubt you can do that without setting yourself bankrupt. Also when (again) did you start research on ion cannons.

As everyone seems to be doing it I am making my military bigger  The civillian training program has been reinstated with 5 years left. I am not gonna post how many ships I have (or any others) but I am stepping up the sending of sattelites into the HADES system (this includes orbital ion cannnons) incidentally dusty how do your ion cannons work (mine are essentially CPA's) Time to post the stats of my hypersonic bomber. The super cruise speed is mach 10 (at which point it takes structural damage) it can carry 2 bombs and 2 AA missiles It has a stealth coating but after it hits anything over mach 2 that wears away. It is propelled by modified scram jets and hypersonic jet engines. The actual max speed is something like mach 12 but if it hits that it will fall apart after a few minutes. Doom would it be possible for me to buy 3,000,000 guns? Also ross could i buy something like 1,000 helios orbs?

[hide] Your planet has fallen into a state of anarchy. You no longer control your planet. It's gone through 4, near 5 years of rebellion. You'd be dead by now. Or have fled the solar system. This just proves my point from page 90. Too bad you just got owned by the way he set up his cities at the very beginning, based on a religious foundation commonly accepted by all civilian and controlled by his government. His capital far away from the other cities, protected by a massive wall. Also why would his people rebel? He never did anything that harmed the majority of them, he even made schools. He pretended to be a god, and in doing that he insured himself that a rebellion would take tens if not hundreds of years, in which time he would have fixed it by wiping out all rebels and thus gaining even better trust among his people.. He was locking up humans and using them for thermal energy... You have the government do that and tell the people about it after arming them and they are going to rebel. Also you cant say ohh I'm getting destroyed by rebels but they cant because I their god... The people will rebel against a "god" that will bring destruction to them. Those people would have no idea what to do with him, they would be scared to rebel because they had knows Hex as a god all their lives and then gets to know he uses some of their to power new schools for them after giving them guns, most likely they would think their god was just developemently delayed. So if i locked you in a plant for power would your family be pissed? Not if I had been hypnotized from birth that it was the only way to a better life. [/hide] A better life in which you spend most of your time sedated with a tube stuck up you mouth and [wagon] ?

I sent them there and then left before dusty had arrived... Though not before leaving several beacons. Also would it be possible to use a warp drive for ftl communication? @sere alright I will use the war mechanic... Told you those beacons would come in handy. I don't quite understand how FTL can be applied to communication though. And what war mechanic? I'm unaware of any new method of warfare we may have come up with. Never mind though we do need a method of ftl communication.

[hide] hex can still claim he escaped, and could potentially be under the protection of Mather. So he's not nesesarily booted, but he is pretty much left with nothing. As for me controlling his land? I can't control rebels, and I have no buisness doing so. Like I said, they live in a state of anarchy. It's up to them to organize it, I'm not dealing with that crap. So would you mind if I tried to help set up a stable government? I think we will be hailed as bringers of freedom and democracy... Well, technically he rules the country, he doesn't act as ruler. He could continue to play, just as the rebel's leader. Rocco, your comment confuses me. The rebels are fighting Hex's rule. Why would Hex have control over them? They aren't recognized as his people anymore. @Grim - Be my guest, but I want no part of it. Rebels have a tendency to never be happy with their government. And i really don't want a planet that close to Mather's (even though the location would be convenient). I don't like having a whole planet to myself. Makes me paraniod. Let's say you made the rebellion against me. I'm not actually playing as my emperor. My countries emperor hasn't even been given a name. If you made a rebellion in my country, I'd continue to play just as the rebel leader. And how does giving people guns cause a rebellion to begin? Hex was running his country with slave labour if I remember correctly. Him and Doom had a minor tiff about it and how he only has 1 guard per like 50,000 people. Then she said somehitng like "they could think 1 guard to death" so then he upped the ratio to 50 people per guard. This means that the poeple under Hex's rule were slaves. Slaves tend to hate their government. He also restricted their rights, worked them hard, and didn't let them near weaponry. That's where I came in. I swooped in, gave his slaves weapons, and BAM instant rebellion. And it wouldn't make much sense to play as the rebels fightnig your country, unless you yourself started the rebellion (like Trol did). If I instigate riots through out Hex's people, a third party is supposed to play as the rebels (as Doom did during the Kazhikia rebellion). I think it was grim that volunteered. I just figured that even an "NPC" rebel would have the common sense to overthrow Hex's week government policies. [/hide] Okay then I'm gonna say that I have a roughly 10-1 force advantage and thanks to the malaysian government I have land based ion cannons. as well as ion enplacement on my stronghold. We are currently scattering saboteurs across the remains of Hex's government.
