Mining access to Lumbridge Caves
I've done the goblin quests, and Tears of Guthix through the Lumbridge caves from the entrance in the swamp. I want to be able to go through from the Lumbridge Castle cellar. I've tried mining the 'squeeze through hole' spot from both sides but just keep getting 'The tunnel is blocked with rocks'. Yes, that's why I'm using a pickaxe to try and dig through. Any idea why I can't dig through here?

An easy money making guide for low levels (and cooking xp )
I know this was from ages ago, but demonstrates something I find annoying. It seems most posters consider stats in the top 15-20% normal, and anything less is 'pretty low'. Many guides of the "How to do X easily" variety start out with a nice little blurb about how the writer has found the simplest safest way to do something everyone wants to do, before going on to say something like "Okay, to start out you'll need Combat Lvl 120, Fishing 91, Construction 87 and 24 million GP". Sorry, but for 90% of players those are not easy requirements. Not criticising the quoted poster in particular, BTW - a matter of opinion, and clearly in many people's opinion 65 is a pretty low cooking level. Okay, I guess most posters are committed players, and their stats are likely to be high. I understand why the majority of posters have good stats. But I base my opinion about what's a high level on the proportion of players who have attained it. 65 cooking is (from today's Runescape website high scores tables) really pretty high on that criteria. Only 811,951 players have 65 or higher, out of a supposed 6,000,000. That's ummm fewer than 15% of players - a little over 13.5%, to be more accurate. If everyone below the top 13.5% is scoring 'pretty low' then that's a seriously skewed idea of good scoring IMO.

Guide to Making Money...(And Junk).. With NPC Trading!
Excellent guide. For anyone wondering "What still works?" please just do the few minutes work it takes. Select something - seed dibbers, for instance. Find out what the farming store at Catherby sells them for. You can find this out either in the game at the store or on this site through the shops list. Find out what the Grand Exchange price for seed dibbers is. That can be checked on the Runescape site's GE list or through the item database on this site. Compare prices. If you'd make 50gp per item that's 1,350 gp per inventory of 27 (allowing one slot for the gp to buy them with). 100gp per item is 2,700 gp per inventory. All you need to know from there is how long it takes to bank an inventory and how long you can be bothered doing it. I only have patience as long as I can keep running. I just made 30,000+ in ten minutes, using one of my explorer ring run recharges. I spent just under 3,000 and sold for 34,000. But not with seed dibbers. You'll have to do some work for yourself :)

Weekly Poll: Random Event rewards...?
You always get 10 x your level in that skill with the lamp. Which means that you used the lamp on a level 25 skill, or you got the experience wrong. :P But no, experience lamps will never give you more than 990 experience. Books of knowledge are slightly better: 15 x your level in the skill, for a max of 1485 exp. Thank you for explaining. I had another one a few minutes ago. The XP would have been a boost, of course, but not enough to put me close to another level in anything. I guess that will be my criteria. XP is worth it if it bumps me over the line for another level, or at least close to it. In this case I could choose something like 350 gold (does anyone?), 15 coal ore (could be handy, but I've got a few hundred anyway), five gold bars (if I was crafting jewellery at the time...maybe), two uncut rubies (pretty good - worth over 4,000 - or again if crafting jewellery), two grimy cadantine (only worth about 2,300 but maybe if training herblore), the XP lamp, the mystery box, or the one I chose - five adamantite ores, worth about 5,400. I'm a sucker for the one I can get most money for \

Weekly Poll: Random Event rewards...?
I've had five or six random events since the new format. I tried the XP lamp once, received something like 250 points, and have gone for herbs every other time. They've been worth at least 5,000 gold pieces, and over 20,000 on at least one occasion. If the lamps were worth something like 1,500-2,000 every time, maybe I'd choose them. But if I'm raising a skill then 250 points is insignificant. I'm only combat level 90 and my other levels are consistent with that, but 250 points is a couple of fish, two easy monster kills, a few pouches, spinning a few flax - nothing that would take me more than a minute and a half as part of skill training. But 5,000-20,000 gp will definitely come in handy and if I specifically wanted it then it would take me at least three or four minutes to make it. Simple efficiency. If I've just been burned by one lousy XP lamp, let me know - what do you get from an XP lamp usually?
