  1. I've tried, but he just hits right through everything. And I've tried protect from melee, although that had me drinking a prayer pot every two turns or so. However, perhaps I'll try again.
  2. That might be a factor, but I believe the main one is Ranking. If you defeat someone whose ranking is lower than yours, your reward will decrease, while if you defeat someone with a higher ranking than yours, you will get more commendments.
  3. Barrows gloves, I believe, are buyable from the chest in Lumby basement after completing Recipe for Disaster. Each time you complete one minuquest of RFD, more gloves are available.
  4. I keep (nearly) dying everytime I try to defeat Barrelchest. With these stats, is there any way for me to do so? (It seems to me that the safespot doesn't work because he instantly starts following me..) 61 Attack 62 Strength 59 Defence 60 Ranged 52 Prayer 66 Magic Also, can familiars help? I have 52 Summoning and was wondering.. Thanks all :)
  5. I keep trying to get a Hetalia character right. Anyway, here's Ukraine. Original: This is fun.. even if I do pretty badly :P
  6. My (mostly failed) attempt at Belarus (Hetalia). best image I could get from Google:
  7. For a furnace, I always use the Port Phasmatys one. You need to wear a ghostpeak amulet to bank quickly, but it's more or less just as clsoe as the Edgeville one and since I don't like crowded places, it's better as well. For smithing, Varrock i definetely the best.
  8. Yeah, the Runescape theme was nice. Although why does Saradomin have his own blue? Just kidding :P Me~ Guess why I'm (slightly) ticked at the blue? Lol.
  9. Conquest is now my favourite minigame. Ever. Only thing missing is enough people t play with. (I jsut say a guy playng with what appeared to be an alt due to the almost exact same names and 133 level difference.)
  10. I'm planning to do this or something like it. I detest combat (probably because I suck) so I'm going to use all the commendations on something like defence.. for fun. Or strength.
  11. I've been experimenting, but so far my favourite team is: 2 Archers 2 Mages 2 Champions Battle Cry Charge Chastise I'm practically 100% sure it's not the best team, but I play for fun and I prefer attacking from afar with my champions to take out the annoying people my mages and archers can't. I'd say the two above are very good, though.
  12. This works ~
  13. Are spears better than longswords in general? As in, are they better weapons to bind? I'm trying to get an argonite weapon, and I don't have the stats to smith one, so does anyone know of a chat or something with players willing to make things? I honestly doubt there is one, but.. Thanks!
  14. I actually liked the first article. Gave me a laugh anyway. Makes you think - 99.9% of the Runescape population is wrong every time it opens its mouth. As for the second article, both this one and Racheya's had good points. However, I tend to sway toward Racheya's point of view. These rewards are meant to be difficult to obtain - minigame (I will NOT call it activity!) rewards are generally useless with high costs, but can you imagine what a 25% boost does? Sure, without the boost it's rune armour at 50 times the price (theoretically) but otherwise the entire game would be flooded with crazy-hitting maniacs. Although I defintely agreed with the team balancing perspective. It is common to see a massive clan of 100+ players swarming on a team. When I see the red levels, I instantly go Woops. Looks like I'm not getting anything out of this.. funwise too. Your solution is rather extreme, but I'm sure someone could find a better one which I obviously don't know of at the moment. And finally, the tickets. This is the aggravating factor in Castle Wars, in my opinion. The losing team has to get something for 20 minutes of effort against an invincible enemy. I suppose if the winning team gets two, there isn't much room for loser rewards (we'd end up with people sitting around twiddling their thumbs) but if the winning teams rewards were upped to say, 3 or 4 tickets, then the losing team could get 1. And not more. These articles were pretty good, although I'd have liked the first better had it been Top 20.
  15. Sorry, failure on my part. Mixed up the magic secateurs from part 1 with the queen's. Can be locked :)

Oreocookie's right. Apparently, I'm 16 - made my account 3 years ago and NOW I'm 13. The annoying thing about quickchat is that it silences people who are more mature than some people in their 20s. I turned 13 couple months ago, and yet I didn't sound like a snivelling brat when I started, either. Quick chat is pointless. It's easy enough to get around the "protection for underage users" anyway.
  17. Um Isn't the point of agreeing with something to agree with most all of what it is? No one says "oh i think mac is better even though i don't agree with the arguments proving that it's better." (NOTE: I hate macs. PC FTW.) No, I mean that I agree that houses are glitched and that skillcapes on guys are too short/small, just not that Jagex failed when they let these problems through. The skillcapes really are ridiculous.
  18. I don't mean to offend anybody, but seeing a guy complaining about looks is pretty funny. I'm not scorning the rant or the OP, but it's usually us girls who complain about how something looks after an update, such as our hair being attacked with instant-scissors when we put on a hat. Although I do agree with the fact that the skillcapes are rather too short, I honestly can't see the "pixelated" icons. I can't see pixels most of the time, but still. As for the houses, while I understand that flashing colours might hurt people's eyes, the very fact that it affects so many paying players ought to get it fixed sometime soon. I don't know exactly how long ago this update was released, but I think, personally, that maybe Jagex is having difficulty matching something in the game to DirectX. I wouldn't know, because I don't ever venture into the realm of computer technology, and yet I still think so. Obviously, I agree that it's ridiculous that such a large glitch got through. However, mistakes are (usually) excusable. Although Jagex has used up most players' reserves of patience, that doesn't change the fact that they're human. If you didn't realize from this post (I apologize for my mixed opinions) I do agree with this rant generally, just not with the details.
  19. Controversy much? Anyway, I guess I'll just have to find out.
  20. MTK freezes? That I've not heard before..
  21. I'm planning on taking a break to play another game (I can't concentrate) and I need a to-do list. Mostly, like how much to leave in MTK and whether to invest in something.. I have 10m at the moment, should I invest in something, like a TT itme or something? Also, how much should I leave in MTK if I'm away from members for 1 or 6 months? Obviously, I won't be able to raise the %, but.. Anything else?
  22. Well, the Myreque line is moderately useful and my personal favourite. Climbing through Sanguinesti is tedious, but the quest line is amazing, and the thrill of trying to avoid being caught by the vyres is pretty fun. I'd suggest them along with: Cabin Fever (Mos Le' Harmless is a good reward in itself.) And more or less practically everything else on your list. Almost all of them give small little rewards that add up to something big. And most of them aren't really Grand-master..
  23. Sorry, I suppose that was rather bad grammar. Or something. I'm going to erase the MTK bit as all I meant to say was I will be using the logs there as supplies when I'm using maples in general.
  24. I'm planning to fletch until 99, although it might take a while. (I'm level 56.) What would be the best (as in, decent exp but not overpriced) way to get there? I'm planning to alch things once I get to magics and so on, so it might save some. EDIT: Do crossbow stocks give as much exp as the equivalent level bow?

I'm not really that "old school", if I am at all. I started around 2006. I remember my feeling of wonder when I realized that I could cook myself a pie! Everything was new and I looked with unbiased eyes on the entire, poorly-graphicked(sp?) world. I still use the old graphics, partially because my computer can't handle HD and partly because I like the gameplay, not the graphics. The thing is, that while we might long for free trade and wildy pking, we also seem to gloss over the huge problems Runescape had back then. Nowadays, our main problems are, well, I don't know exactly, but back then rwting was taking control of the entire games, and so on. I, too, want the old game back. My friend, Kapa138, who is a rather high-level, helped me so much when I was a lower level. She still does, in fact. But back then, when I was wondering how to get full mithril, who appears but her with a set for me? She always helps me, and although the quadrupled trade limit is nice, it doesn't match up. Still, I try to be happy with whatever I have. So, in short, while I support this, I don't think it'll ever happen.
