  1. Errrm, think of Timmy who got himself on national news because he RWT'ed and got hacked by a clan. Kids will do anything for attention - including whining to their parents. I think censors are good, there's no need to have to hear any swearing or inappropriate language. They don't get in the way very much any more and while I have nothing against the use of swear words when I'm angry, I'm all for them being censored too. Unfortunately the use of swears is seen far more common in insulting people - which is definitely not appropriate. I just don't want to see gay being thrown around as an insult. RWTing is one thing. Swear words and censorship is another. I do realize that swear words are sometimes used for insulting people. But then again, there's the ignore list, and if you get offended just by some random someone typing an insult, then you're gonna have a hard time dealing with this stuff. By the way, almost no one that I have met on Runescape has made insults to me using swears, so it is actually not that big of a problem. Then, there's the person that accidentally makes a typo which got the word censored. A WBM (Wanna-Be Mod) sees this, and reports that person. That person who made the typo just got muted for 48 hours. That's yet another example of why the censor hurts more than helps. [/hide]It's true there's the ignore list, but some people are sensitive and will still be hurt if someone calls them a bleeping bleep bleep. Not many people use swears as insults but they still do - and more would if the censor would allow it. If a word is censored then there's no foul language is there? You can't report someone under obscene language if the censor has caught it. I do realize that some people are more sensitive than others. However, the best solution is to just take more of it and use comebacks, so that you can learn to deal with it. That's how I learned to deal with most mean people that I have met. Just because the censor would allow swears does not mean that more people will use swears as insults. Since swearing is possible in that circumstance, reporting them for foul language is actually easier, so in the long run, less people will use swears as insults. By the way, I have heard people get muted just because they made typos. Like this example: Person (no typo): "Let's go cut yews." Person (typo): "Let's go cut jews."
  2. When I think of Runescape, I think of GP, levels, skilling, combat, monster hunting, quests, minigames, and PvP. In fact, the things I mentioned above are the things that I always do on Runescape. They are all fun. :D

  4. Most skills are bought out, because it is significantly faster to train that skill by buying ingredients than if you gather them yourself. People buy raw fish and cook them, instead of fishing the fish themselves. Why? Because it trains their Cooking faster. I do agree that people should gather their own resources though. That way, people can train other skills as well as training the skill they wish to get 99 in.
  5. In F2P, I almost always see people using Rune Scimitars. Although there's sometimes the occasional Rune Longsword (which I use), Rune Battleaxe, and Rune Sword, it's still always a mess of Rune Scimitars. In P2P, it is similar to the above. People are always using Abyssal Whips, with the occasional Saradomin Sword, Zamorak Spear, and the Godsword. In the future, I would want to see Stab/Slash/Crush balance, so that weapons like Warhammers are more useful. In F2P, all 3 cockroach types should have a significant Crush weakness, and monsters like Ankous and Lesser/Greater Demons should be more prone to Stab. In P2P, there's already Metal Dragons (Stab), and Waterfiends (Crush). Not sure if there is anything else though. They should add more to this as well.
  6. I'm sure in the event that they add a screw item to runescape, the censor will be reworked to allow the word in certain context; however, there is no screw item. Not even a screwdriver--it's referred to a Turnscrew actually, which isn't censored. So that's really a moot point. Having the word censored because it has no relevancy nor context to the game itself saves more problems than it creates. Even though the word is censored, it will be a hindrance to those just normally chatting, clan chatting, and even private chatting. Censors can and will get in the way. If I were to use "screw", an example would be "Darn, that revenant screwed up my wildy mining.". It has absolutely no sexual reference, and is not offensive as well, therefore it should not be censored. Hell, every word should not be censored, because it's just a word. What harm does it do? Nothing. Besides, it's not a kid's game, so people will not go crying to their parents and said "some guy on a internet said a bad word!". Censors, useless. Period.
  7. For runecraft, since you do not play FOG, I recommend that you train on fire runes. Sure, you lose money, but hey, it's the fastest experience if you don't use FOG gloves. ;) And good luck on 99 Mining.
  8. I totally agree. I like runecrafting as well because it sort of keeps you engaged in the game, what with all the clicking and all, and with earth gloves you get twice as much xp, meaning you finish your goal twice as fast. Not to mention I love Fist of Guthix. :) I have no problems with f2p skills other than Prayer. From my current level to 99, it'll cost me over 400m in big bones if I try to buy it. I doubt I'm ever going to mine enough runite or merch for a long enough period of time to cover such a hefty expense. Since I'm saving melee as my last set of 99s, I'm probably just going to train it manually by killing Ice Giants...if I hit 99, then great; if I don't, then I don't. Buying it just doesn't seem feasible to me. I know a really slow, but free method to train Prayer to 99. Go to the Chaos Temple in the Wilderness, the one with all the bone respawns. Pick up those bones, and bury. That's how I hit 45 Prayer. 99 Prayer will take too much for me though. Oh dear that's slow. :( I remember back when the Bone Yard existed, I used to bury the bones there. There were also a couple of big bones in the area. But as far as your suggestion is concerned: wouldn't you run the risk of getting attacked by revs? Technically, killing Ice Giants is also a free method. ;) I trained there for 2 hours, and no revenants appeared. ;) And I just kill Moss Giants for big bones, but that is slower.
  9. Indeed he is but the spec of the warhammer pwns its' defence, allowing it to be solo'd I see. I guess I better do more research on those weapons then. :wall:
  10. Are you really serious... Ofcourse, if gay is censored because it 'centers around the discussion of sex', why shouldn't 'straight'? .. Because "straight" actually has a use besides describing sexuality.. Such as.. you can say, "After I farm this patch im going to teleport straight to Fally". Its primary use as a word does not focus around "SEX". EDIT: Yes, gay can refer to a non-sexual definiation but the majority of the time it is not used that way. The term straight is used as a non-sexual term the majority of the time it is used. Thats the difference. If that is true, then why is "screw" censored? It has nothing to do with sex, and yet it is censored in-game. Truth is, no word should be censored. We all know what they are, and we wouldn't care if somebody said it anyway. Sexual references are perfectly normal, and are always used in everyday life. That's why fads like "That's what she said!" was invented.
  11. Player versus Enemy. ;) And isn't corp weak to stab? I'm not so sure on this though.
  12. Still, P2P has all the skills, and F2P only has 15. It's a silly idea to say that if someone got a 99 in F2P they will never become members, because members will still have everything. People will still subscribe no matter what. Jagex established that they will put more commitment to the free game as well. I agree with the stats being toned down, btw.
  13. Good luck with your goals Medaragon!
  14. Thank you. :D I shall be leveling when I have time, right now there are too many things (mainly school) in the way for me to play RS. -_-
  15. Hang on, I didn't say that F2P should get as much updates as P2P should! If there are too many updates in F2P, it will all be very confusing for most, especially when people like me do not play as often as others. I think they should stay updating at the exact same pace, it's just that there are a few pieces missing from the puzzle. This is why most F2Pers ask for specific stuff, and not just things like "moar whips pl0x?". I ask for bank space, because the current amount of items I have is 70, more than the 68 bank space we have now. I would have even more if I bothered to get stuff such as shade robes and the muddy key, and I have yet to get zombie gloves. Skillcapes are demanded, because, no matter what, a 99 is a 99, and the purpose of them is to show off that you have a 99 in that skill. You earn the cape, not pay for it. That defeats the purpose. I never thought that F2P was boring, in fact it's really good right now. If it really were, I wouldn't even be playing right now. The reason why I could not pay is because that I do not play as often as the most of you, and paying would essentially be a waste if I did. If I can play more, then I would most definitely go P2P and enjoy Runescape even more. And yes, I have heard people that say "F2P does not contribute". *Points to Jaffy1 in the skillcapes debate*

To be honest, I actually preferred the new looks of the weapon. Rune longswords look so hawt now. <3:

  18. Beat me to it. Its a shame it got 3 pages in before anyone picked up on the real reason behind this thread. The words gay, lesbian, sex, sexy, sexual, penis, vagina, heterosexual, homosexual...they are all censored because they all center around the discussion of SEX. The game has players under age 11. There are Sex Education Classes and Parents to teach these things to children. They don't need to learn it from Runescape. Case Closed. Excuse me... this game is for people aged 13+. Who the freaking cares about those words? A lot of the people in my school say these words just about everyday. I don't give a crap, and neither should the rest of the community. Ever since internet blocking, censors just get in the way instead of helping. Fact.
  19. Actually, it's not just those words that are censored. Words like "screw" and even "google" that are perfectly normal are censored as well. The truth is, Runescape is not a kid's game. The censor is a very unnecessary feature, and adding it is a hindrance to us older players who are used to speaking and hearing those words. Besides, who cares about swear words? We don't give a damn about them. "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." Jagex obviously does not know that.
  20. I don't AFK. I always pay full attention to the RS screen. If I did AFK, I might have missed out on a conversation nearby, a dropped item, or something like that.
  21. *Points to Corrupt Dragon, Miasmic Staff, Statius's Warhammer, and Vesta's Longsword* These weapons are only useful for PvP, and are not worth it in PvE.
  22. I'm a F2Per, and here are my observations of the current F2P combat triangle. Keep in mind this is just what I notice and might not be that accurate. -Melee: The dominant type. It has powerful weapons that can hit into the 20s frequently. The rune scimitar is a speedy weapon which has good power, the rune two-hander is a deadly KO weapon, and other weapons, such as the rune longsword and the rune battleaxe, are very effective weapons as well. They also have full rune, with very high defensive stats. It's good enough right now, but maybe rune boots should be given to complete the rune set. -Range: The speedy type. The best, and only weapon for them is the maple shortbow, and combined with adamant arrows, they can hit at a maximum of 18. If used right, range can be great against many. They could do with yew shortbow + rune arrows, but I'm not so sure yet. I don't care if they do get it though, it gives F2P range a level 40 weapon. -Magic: Unfortunately the worst of the three. The staffs they use are slow, and Fire Blast can only hit a max of 16. It also has a chance to fail as well. Their best armor is Runecrafter Robes, and one must play the Great Orb Project to get those robes. Even then, the armor is weak and mages are easily killed. I say they can have the wave spells, snare, and stun/enfeeble/vulnerability. I also noticed that offensive play is favored. This is due to the types of armor each side of the combat triangle gets, and that the weapons in each side of the triangle has superior weapons over armor. I think this is the reason why pures and hybrids were created.

With full worlds, comes faster respawns, more people to chat with, more populated minigames, and more people trading. ;)
  24. Still, it's true that you don't pay. I'm P2P and I'm still bombarded by advertisments everytime I go to the RS homepage. As for the no pay, no play comments about "who cares", Well Jagex cares. If everyone had access to the full game without paying, they would sure go bankrupt very quickly. Still, "We don't pay!" is not a good reason as to why F2P should not get updates. I also know that with no P2P, Jagex would go bankrupt, but saying that "either stop playing or start paying" is very silly. Seriously, we F2Pers are players too. There's a reason why there's the Top 250 F2P Skill Total List, and with no F2P means that Jagex has just lost over 6 million players (and even more as P2Pers membership expires). And I shall say this again: Even though F2P is updated frequently, P2P will still have everything there is to offer, therefore it is still very worth it to go P2P. RSOFers (and most P2Pers in general) don't understand this fact. By the way, you just double posted. Just telling ya.

But without hentai artists, America would lose the only thing it doesn't outsource to China D: And what would that-girl-who-hates-me-now do without her furry?! It would be blasphemy; it would be madness! You might was well add hentai doujinshi. I [bleep]ing hate it when those Guthix damned doujin artists make a story that is so anti-canonical that it makes me want to vomit. If they want to make yaoi, they can just go find their own drawings instead of stealing other people's hard work and turning it into pornography. Notice I didn't say yuri. There's this small percentage in my brain that says it's the best thing since sliced bread. I need to strap that part of my brain onto a dwarf death knight and do explosive shot target practice on him. Hopefully it will work. That percentage seems to have about 9,500 resilience. Doujin artists and anti-canonical fans... how can I forget them? :wall: That reminds me. The only other thing that I do not want is people making up couples. Some couples in other series that the fanboys/fangirls make are so unfitting, it sticks in my head and it gives me an unpleasant feeling about them. Others are just downright wrong. Few are good though, and this actually made me like the characters more. Please don't make Runescape couples in machinima, fanboys/fangirls, PLEASE.
