  1. I cant figure it out. I found a much better Runescape fan site, and I am leaving Tip.It forever. You guys helped me for many years.... but your site pales in comparison to the RS Wiki. Thank you for all the help you've given me, but im not coming back. To a moderator: Please delete my forum account and signature image file. I dont want you wasting disk space when others could be using it.
  2. Who edited these? First article: "Of course Jagex like to [...]". Jagex is singluar. It likes to do things. Second article: "I met a person in draynor bank who would meeI quit for a decent period [...]" ... what? Gimme back my old forums too.
  3. I voted "rarely" because there was not a "I know what TET is but have never been to an event" option. I've already voiced concerns about this: I want to go, they sound like fun most of the time. I cannot go because they're all scheduled for times when I work. If i dont work i cant pay Internet, Electricity or my Runescape membership bills so... work wins out every time.
  4. Sorry. I didn't mean to flame. I just get very angry sometimes when I drink. That also explains why i missed the 2k ranged experience at the end of Death to the Dogreshhun. :wall: As for the soul wars problem, I imagine you could still contribute to your teams efforts without doing combat by collecting and burying bones in the graveyards. You're going to die instantly to a grave rushing ancient lobbing bursts and barrages, though.
  5. As smart as most rs monsters, im not excpecting them to be smarter. Combat level - ((Summoning / 8)rounded up) = Pvp level. If you cant read this, then stop skipping algebra class to play runescape. You CAN be level 99 summoning and lv 15 combat. Do Death to the Dogreshuun and steal charms from chests. Tedious but possible (Kill sigmund with recoils). I didnt mean an economy-wide moneypit. Firemakers fund the Woodcutters yes, but most Cape-coveters will just buy their logs instead of cutting their own, spending a few Million on a 99k cape who's only redeming factor (imo) is that its orange.
  6. RayOxide.... if summoning didnt affect you whatsoever, then how could lv 10 summoners make fair cash on red spider eggs, one click from a bank, any bank? Summoning is expensive. I'll admit this BUT... when using correct familiars for tasks other than training summoning itself... i get a noticable boost in whatever i do. From a +8 fishing boost from Ibis + Admiral Pie, to Macaws forcing my slayer tasks to drop better herbs, to Scroll/whip comboing in the chaos tunnels with Minotaurs for massive def xp per hour. The difference between skilling with and without summon is really this: With it, i make several times the cost of my familiar back by simply using them properly. The extra damage per second, extra invo, healing effects, and extra skill boosts add up after a while to = owning the game. Useless levels? Ha! Check through most guides on solo-ing bosses nowadays. Id bet money that you see a Beast of burden or High level healing familiar included in the setup. Summoning absolutely owns for the solo-er. Even in clan warfare: if your whole clan can summon, you can DOUBLE your numbers at the start of the fight. The point im @ in summoning, my best familiars are HIGHER LEVEL THAN I AM. Monkeyannie, Bassy, Outsanity, Hkdollars: Thank you people. It seems my topic on summoning haters only drew them. I also agree that Slayer is the best way to gain charms for summoning, as well as the wealth to pay for shards. Id really like to see 3 changes to slayer though: Bring back the summoning tab, i dont like HAVING to use the summoning button up top for stuff. Make some monsters drop shards. Low amounts per kill or make lots of monsters drop them. Preferably the first. Add some more High level Gold charm summons. Side note: Defense is not useless. If you dont get hit, you win. Period.
  7. Elemental workshop 3? that means elemental body armor, i believe since the 3rd door has the body symbol. The "mind" door made a helmet, now we get elemental plate maybe? and upgraded shields and helmets? Mourning's end 3? Havent done 2, but heck yes! Let us into Priffdinas, with the Wise old Man's help! When Guthix Wakes? I nearly cabbaged in my chair when i read about a potential wgs sequel. I cant even do the first but anything Guthix makes me want to get another scoop of qp in a month just because. Only thing that would wake him is a bizarre boron swell. I <3 the chaos elemental.
  8. Do you have a goatee and come from an alternate universe? (star trek joke for the uninformed)
  9. Friends. I like to play on 42, the roleplay server. Pm'ing always felt like telepathy and i choose who i let into my character's head. It also saves me from getting spammed after i help a newb once and run off to do other things. Im philanthropic, but when my kindness is abused, i get angry. I help newbs  , i hate noobs.
  10. Funnisam, whats funny is you seem to have missed almost every point behind my creation of this theory. Something most people dont have, I certainly dont. Cant use familiars @ Beast. :shame: This is for Graardor/ Kril Tsutaroth etc... No but it does start with an instant 5 stack, possibly 6 or 7 stack. Though, I'd like to see where I said this was a pking tech. If memory serves, i said it was best used against stupid npc bosses. If they're @ 26 or less after eating their first bite, a K overlord could kill them, since it hits twice at least, a max 10 melee/ranged and a 16 max magic attack. Low probability, but possible. Well the line about D claws is false. Low probability, but still POSSIBLE. But... let me get this straight. A GOOD pker is going to stand there, get damaged, eat all of his food, and barely attack me? Yes it disrupts the 15 chain but, im forcing him to use up supplies. I'll agree Blitz/Ags owns. But the thing you missed entirely was not the ratio of damage to hits, but sheer number of hits alone. This combo would hit almost 5 times faster than a godsword.
  11. They're just pets. It just raises your combat lv. It costs too much. Charms aren't tradable. Combat familiars are bad. I've heard it all. I hate those people who drone on about how useless and costly summoning is, and how the "pets" are dumb. Take a look at the Boss Monster soloing guides. Im sure you'll see a titan, unicorn, terrorbird, or bunyip and scrolls (other than swallow whole) in the invo setup. SUMMONING HELPS EVERY SKILL EXCEPT COOKING DIRECTLY. Most summons give invisible boosts to skills that are, albeit invisible, but STACK with visible bonuses like pots pies or beer. Proof: Why would a void ravager have the ability to give you +1 mining like a dwarven stout, AND a constant +1 mining if they didnt stack? Pets dont do this. In pvp worlds your combat level is adjusted back down if you're not carrying any summoning utensils, so the cb lv inflation doesnt matter. Personally i like it. Its more impressive to be a lv 112 than 102 (or 103 idk at time of writing) Charms arent tradable cause Jagex didnt want to make an already expensive skill obscenely more expensive as a balancing factor to deter people from buying a 99 within the first week or two. It costs a lot because of the SIGNIFICANT advantages you get from having a familiar. I make far more gp per hour with summoning a helper familiar, than without. I get far more xp per hour as a result also. Combat familiars are great. Usually low def/obscene hp for their level, though. Bring a combat familiar to Fist of Guthix sometime. Even if they waste time killing it, thats more charges you collect. Sometimes if your lucky you can even get a hunter kill or two. (or 4 even for my overlords). Bring them on slayer tasks also. Healers like spinner and unicorn dominate the single-way combat areas, and an actual fighting familiar like minotaurs and overlords will let you own the multicombat ones. They're even a vital part of a huge combo string theory of mine (see sig for link). In short, Grow up and do wolf whistle. Summoning ftw. You want a moneypit skill? Go Firemake.
  12. In any true combat situation, anything goes. Running, Teleporting, Hybriding, Summoning, Healing, Prayer... to me all Honorable. They're all just examples of someone using their character to its fullest. Dishonorable action would be talking to your opponent and making an agreement that both would refrain from doing something, only to end up handicapped as they break the deal. Just remember... A runner can be shot at or rendered immoblie. A teleporter can be teleblocked. A number of weapons hack through prayer, and now Zaniks hits HARDER if they pray. A healer has to stop attacking to heal. If you want enforcement of battle conditions, do like wilcher. Give them a duel ring and say meet me there.
  13. I like the Agility upgrade but it needs to be toned down. PVP needs to change the drop calculator, i think, so payout is closer to opponents carried wealth, making its closer to old wildy. 26kers will only get around 26k a kill. Two pkers with 10m in equip could get a similar ~10m payout. I wanna try out mobilizing armies now though. I hope it doesnt take too long to get my fremmenik rings imbued.
  14. Shark almost exclusively. I just got bunyips though. Eh... still takes sharks to make em. Speaking of healing, i wish Resting and Regen braces worked together.
  15. Morrigans javelin has 4 strikes against it: Its expensive, produces an Inconsistent number of splats, and unlike barrows it disintegrates when its used up. The last strike it has against it being that its a ranged attack, which would delay the 6 last moves of the combo (everything from Vengance on, since you NEED to take damage for Veng Recoil & Enchanted Helm, and need to be splatted at least for the 123 counter.)
  16. I gotta say i stopped reading your slayer guide, so i'll never find out if its good or not. I know its a fan guide but.... man, are you BIASED. Im gonna stop myself before i flame, but i have one major comment. Magic defense is not useless, especially not to a slayer. Too many slayer monsters have mage-based melee attacks for this to be true.
  17. No offense intended, just giving a different view. Btw Thx for the tip on forge regent's fireball reach, Kent. I had a feeling it was big but now i know. They dont sound half bad, i'll have to give em a try. Immolated butterfly for the win, hopefully.
  18. Great one. Chins are fast so it would be really hard to time a forge regent fireball without actually losing speed using them. (speaking from experience) Fireball maxes at a 5 too so i think is really not worth it. Unless... you're using them as an opener so you dont waste time switching the fuse length. Ie: use a fireball to hit all of them and get them to go agrro and bunch up so you can chin them. Idk the range on fireball though so this is just theory. I say try it and let us all know. What have you got to lose but time and a little cash you were planning on burning anyway? Side note: i thought about it today and i think its funny, inuashakent. You debunked all my ideas except the one i consider worst, and offered to include that bad one in your guide. :P Multitasking for the win though.
  19. They do but with timing you can hit, right click your fam, and turn back before your next attack would have gone off, getting you 3 hits in the space of 2. The big problem for me is the drain on my summoning points. Using right click attacks almost guarantees that you won't be able to refresh your pouch when it runs out cause you're burning pts on right click attacks. But... at that point i usually bank anyway. Macaws who produce ranarrs and snaps and all sorts of other herbs worth over 1k each are less profitable o.o ? I'll take your word for it since i cant summon fruit bats yet. And where are you killing hellhounds that they're in multicombat? Wildy? I'd rather alch my guthans. They also hit me so infrequently that i feel im wasting Spinners if i bring them there, so foragers are the best option for defensive players like me when it comes to monsters like 'hounds. Who said it was needed? I dont like getting hit. I'd rather use up prayer points instead of food any day, and usually my Prayer will last longer than my summon so i dont have to waste time during my runs to refill. Not trying to nitpick, trying to contribute :D
  20. Very well rounded guide but you're missing some things: Like actual Familiar combat tricks. Try this some time: Bring a familiar fire staff, nats and alchs to a multicombat zone with safespots. Start combat with a monster and when your familiar attacks it, run to the safespot. Let the two monsters duke it out while you alch. Not a fast training method but a fairly safe one. Faster than alching alone if you use a magic xp familiar. Or you could try the get hit/whistle/drown/spec trick w/ K overlords. It works with Spirit 'Trices, Smoke Devils, and most familiars who have an attack triggered from their right click menu. (DO NOT USE BARKER TOADS, cannon interrupts their reg attack). Guaranteed 3+ hit counter combo depending on your weapon of choice. With the right setup it can be used midway through a massive combo string, granting a theorized 11-16 hits. (see my sig for the link to my theory and a better explanation of the "123 counter") I also didnt see macaws mentioned anywhere in your guide for actual use. Using these and Herbcall scrolls (1 per min, about 30 scrolls used per pouch if dilligent) is stupidly profitable since you can get ANY herb (yes i've gotten snaps, 2 exactly out of several k herbcalls) from Herbcall. Its also nice since you're more than likely to get 4+ guams in that time, giving you enough secondarys to replace what you just used. Exellent for slayer tasks with terrible/nonexistant/stackable drops like hellhounds. Macaws and Fruit bats are also remote viewers so you can sit over a full screen away from some place and spy on it. Potentially usefull in PvP for ambushing. You also didnt mention that the weakest abyssal familiar, the parasite, makes it so your prayer doesnt drop to 0 in the abyss. I actually prefer it to lurkers since they hold the same amount of ess, but i can Pray to ensure i dont get hit (why eat food if you dont have to?) Lurkers have the advanatge of +4 thief and agi scrolls, but really I only distract eyes or squeeze gaps when im making Laws and you cant bring a familiar on entrana. Maybe +4 agi means more now with the run update but i doubt it. Not trying to nitpick, trying to contribute :D
  21. 2-4 combat rounds depending on the speed of the opponents weapon. The d claws specs arent in a row, theres 5-6 attacks betwen them (Venge Recoil Fam's 3 and maybe poison). Smoke Blitz is the reccomended spell at this point, its a little slow, and most importantly: Poisonous. I cannot Barrage yet so i cant speak for their speed. Any Blitz or Wave spell would work for attack #1 tho.
  22. If you want an opensource version of photoshop: I use Gimp 2.0. Missing a few tools like Render>Clouds but its tiny, efficient, and free.
  23. July 5 just like Huey Louis. Nothing quite like watching fireworks and heading to the bar for free drinks after midnight on the 4th. :D.
  24. Through more and more analasys, im rapidly coming to think that the actuall 11-15 string could only be done on a boss class monster. They're dumb enough to let you try, and have high enough Hp to survive that many hits. But how much damage would it produce? Assuming I pulled off the 15 hitter, and maxed every hit wearing Neit, Fury, D Boots, and Barrow gloves; Also assuming no pots no Pray, and accurate style and an opponent hitting for 85 to trigger the venge/recoil; It would produce a string like this: Smoke Blitz 22/ D claws 22 11 6 5/ Poison 4/ Vengance 63/ Recoil 9/ Overlord 10/ Drown 16/ Scroll 16/ D claws 21 11 6 5... For a total of 228 damage. Agressive style, Super Str pot + Piety brings the hits for D claws up to 32 16 8 8 for me, so an extra 20 dmg, 248 max. Almost 250 damage, Yowza. I could hit 50% of my max on every hit and own most players. Id hate to think what a wealthy Lv 138 player could do. Edit: I didnt fully understand how dragon claws special worked before, and adjusted for new stats. Corrected 8/7/09.
  25. I'd like to comment on the Steel titans effectiveness, but Im trying to only use what i have readily available in my bank/skills or could quickly aquire from another player (ie have a partner to lend d claws & cast venge other) 99 summoning is a long way from my 66. I prefer using Overlords really. they're overall stronger, can attack with all 3 combat styles (just recently noticed it meleeing, thought it could only mage/range) and its scroll maxes out way higher while also being a magic attack. I dont know about your claim about the enchanted helms activating more for Smoke devils, Joe. I thought it was a fixed % chance for all summon scrolls in it to activate equally. Perhaps you're just lucky to get it to trigger that much, though if memory serves, Spirit 'Trice scrolls activated pretty often in my Neit. I wont discount your theory. Phoenixes do damage with ash blast? :D how much do they max? Is it a magic attack? I gotta try em cause Barker toads are [cabbage] summons. If you double smoke you could hit 8 like that with well timed poison, and have increased chances of the poison hitting too. BUT... Timing is everything in this combo and one thing i tried to really strive for is NOT switching weapons only menus. Your theory could work with the slow spell/fast spell/ d claws for a 6-7 hit. But yeah you'd need a lunar mage friend friend to get yourself up to 17 hits doing your method, if its possible (and Im still doubting the 15 hitter). Though, you could do it without the venge for 15 and use 2 smoke spells, increasing the change you get the poison hit in, but sacrificing the veng gives a bigger chance of not completing the string. Their auto retaliate almost has to be on because if they ignore you, the bigger half of the combo is lost.
