  1. It depends on how you pay them, but ive found some things are more profitable than others. 100% Maples/Coal will net you a nice gain, but 100% herbs might net you one or two a day only. I use a 50-50 maples/coal, but its up to you.
  2. Camblepoons in Stronghold of security are good, as are Mossies on Crandor and Lessers in the Volcano.
  3. My personal favorate was in Falador, a L110 starts following me from the E bank. L 110: Which town is this? Me: Falador. You should know that by now. L 110: I dont know much, I just bought this guy. Me: Reported.
  4. Of course they could, but if they did, they'd be stripped of modship and banned just as anyone else.... so its doubtful they would (especially since they screen people very throughly before offering PMod) Common ones ive seen: Trim Armour (The real cute ones not only steal your armour but make you pay for this 'service' as well. Members CANNOT do it.) Swapping similar items on the trade screen quickly, hoping you wont notice on the 2nd screen (ie. 100k gp becomes 10k gp, rune full becomes addy full, granite maul becomes rock hammer) Duplicate Items (drop it and press alt - f4 in a remote location being the most common) Anything trust trade (Give me item and i'll give it back. Sometimes its to build 'friendship', sometimes cause they 'just want a picture of themselves in your rune(g)) Youve won Free Membership (involves giving them password and bank pin usually) Team merchanters (ie. Person A on one side of square buys maple logs for 200gp, person B on other side is selling for 100gp. You buy as many as possible, trying to make a quick profit, only to discover that once you bought em, Person A doesnt need em anymore) Not really a scam, but those teams that hold the doors closed while a player is getting killed (ie. wine of zamarok) or that lead players into death (ie, lumby swamp caves without a light source) are cheap but common too.
  5. Without reading the last 8 pages I'll say this. Because a couple of people got killed and ONE lost a party hat (ONE, from the source himself) they should screw THOUSANDS of people who would lose a ton of advancement and time put in to achieve the advancement? I dont think so. Everyone who says they'll quit if it isnt? Watch the door on the way out.
  6. This is also illegal according to the rules.... and they wonder why they are banned.
  7. Sad part is, its relitively simple to not get yourself banned. Simply contact Jagex (with the information of both parties behind the firewall) and explain the situation to them (shared connection). They may watch you for awhile to see if you are in fact, one person or two , but if they take action, you'll have corispondance to back up your position.
  8. 99% of all pures are rule breakers anyway. Why? Because lets face it, a L3 rune miner is only in it to make cash (be it selling ore/bars or smithing it). These people, at Level 3, cant wear any decent equipment, so where does all the cash go? To a main. And since its in the user agreement your accounts cannot interact in any way....
  9. He gives you tasks to do (Fecth him 5 normal logs, 5 bronze spears, take this message to the oracle, etc). As a reward, he blesses you, and gives you a bit of prayer XP.
  10. This article does clear up a few things, but ignores the issue here as a whole. "Freedom of the Press" ends where it infringes upon an individuals rights, in this case, directly slandering Jagex in the last article. There is no difference between slandering a company, Jagex, or slandering a specific group of people (ethinic or religious minorities for example). Either should not be published. he author, complaining about Bias, was Quite Clearly Biased in that particular article, as well as pulling several no-nos of journialism (mentioning specific cases would be one). Its a great piece of Damage control by tip.it, but in the future, I do hope they are a little more selective about what is posted, taking into account the fair and balanced viewpoint that is necessesary for "freedom of the press" P.S. - To everyone who says Tip.it did the wrong thing and shouldve fought, use your brains. A multi-million dollar company VS a couple of webmasters who run a fansite in spare time.. the outcome would not be a pretty sight. Heck, none of you know even what was said between Andrew and Tip.it. You would have done the exact same thing in this position, but hey, its easy to be brave and scream "fight the power" from the sidelines right???
  11. I voted conservitive as well. Its just what I am.
  12. Man... Ive been reported (supposedly) over the last month for a) "Rock Stealing". Im a level 67 miner and worked hard for the level. I will use it to mine iron whenever and wherever I please. If you dont like it, thats fine. B) Sold a rune scimmy for 25k, he offers 20k and tells me to trade or he'll report me. "Go ahead" c) I refuse to give a begger free stuff (followed me for 5 minutes) and finally tell him to outright back off. Was reported for "inapproprate langage" d) Refused to give a PKer "Free Food". I have a personal thing against PKing and I will not give food to a PKer (sell it, not give it). Again, reported. e) My favorate one.... followed a scammer around out of boredom who was constantly offering the old "Armor trimming" scam. Of course I immediately warned everyone in the area. I was told that i'd been reported. Does this mean a bad community? Not really. Just immiture. A few bad apples ruin it for everyone. Ive been called a n00b so many times that frankly, I laugh at the people who say it. There are also many who think threatening to report you will make them get thier way, which again, knowing im an honest player, doesnt bother me. Just add em to ignore, and set the public chat to "off" and private to "friends". I get alot less aggervation from them that way.
  13. You dont say after how long before it freezes, but it also happens to me. IE/Firefox seem to have memory leaks, after playing for long periods of time, they lock up, and slow everything else on my machine to a crawl. A quick look and they are listed in the task manager as sucking back a tremendous amount of memory. I usually fix the problem by quitting runescape after every hour and re-loading the browser.
  14. My best luck has been: Lvl 1: Men/Women. Either in Seers village bar, or in lumby. Lvl 2: Guards. I usually beat up the Varrock bunch but any should do.
  15. Not all of them are, these co-ordinate clues can take you all over the map. If I recall right though, anything above 10' north is very likely to be in the wilderness...
