Difference between RS and chess is that the point of chess is to win by taking out the other person's king, and according to the rules, the only way to do that is through the other team's pieces. In RS, the goal is whatever the hell you want it to be, and it can usually be done without having to take someone's else gravestone stuff. what if i want my goal is to get rich by taking others' stuff? Note the word "usually." There are people who make it their goal to get rich by doing stuff like that, but for many, if not most, RSers, doing stuff like that is not the goal. Well since there isnt no linear goal in RS, why would the rules you make apply to everyone who plays? If Jagex wanted death to be safe they wouldnt make you publically drop items upon dieing, face it Jagex set the game up to make it so people can loot your stuff when you die, just like chess is set up to take out the other person's king Yep, they did. Because apparently, the majority wanted it. (Or at least, the majority who voted in the poll, but let's not get into that.) And Jagex didn't set up RS for the exclusive objective to be "take people's stuff when they die" - the fact that the bless system even exists disproves that. Did they set it up to be possible, and for some people to maybe make it their objective? Sure. But does it state in the rules that to "win" RS, you have to loot every grave you see instead of blessing it? No. And for the record, I didn't say that gravestone looting should or shouldn't be removed in this argument, or that people should play by "my rules." I just pointed out that he had a flawed analogy - comparing a game with a singular objective to one with an objective varied by person in an objective-based argument.
