Personally, I'd prefer these bonus weekends DON'T come to f2p, but that's just me...Jagex is continuously making the game easier, and it's only a matter of time before the biggest challenge of maxxing out will be creating an account...And the only thing the "older" players will be able to do is say "Well, I did this when it was more of a challenge..." ("Challenge" being used somewhat freely here). If anything, just make p2p easier ^-^ ========== Despite my opposition to the bonus weekend, I did manage to take advantage of it (not just by getting water tallies for some extra cash), but also by getting a membership :o! Not on this account though, of course...I got it on a noob account, which I had intentions of getting a membership on anyways...But my parents wouldn't just let me get a Membership (I'm not even supposed to be playing rs...they think it caused the viruses, even tho it was hypercam ;) )...But I worked it out... Earlier last week, my mom made me make an appt with the vet to get my guinea pigs' nails cut (they desperately needed a trim, and my mom couldn't clip some of them), so I made one for this past Friday for 9:30 since I had school off that day...On the way home I asked my mom to drop me off at Target to check something, and that I'd walk home (only a mile/mile and a quarter walk), so she let me...and when I got home a little before noon, I put in my membership :) ========== ATM, I'm working on 99 fletching, but only 67...I also got 35 agility to do the Horror from the Deep quest (Just for the unholy book for an outfit ;))...also got 20 thieving, 3 herb, 40 craft which was a lot faster when cutting gems from level 1 :D and did the Priest in Peril quest to gain access to Canifis, once again, for outfits ;)...I ultimately want a trimmed cook cape, but that won't be for a bit, since I'm also only 78 cook... I'm also doing a measly 50k fm xp a day on this account just so I'm making daily progress on it and not completely devoting my membership time to a not-main acc :3 ========== I thought the f2p quest was meh...I won't complain, and already knew it wouldn't be high level since Jagex said so...But a new quest after many years is still somewhat exciting...The mask is kind of meh...still keeping it in bank thought :) I did like the new staff, too, and am also keeping that banked... I also found it funny that they brought up necromancy, almost as if to toy with all those people who claim it's the new skill :D Was also kind of hoping there would be a little something more exciting with the Demon statues or statuettes or w/e, instead of just 2.5k >.> but I guess being a noob quest, I couldn't expect much... ========== As for making more updates to help new players...well, meh...I mean, I was fine when I started off rs...and making progress from having/being able to do nothing made it even more fun...now they're giving them a starter quest and access to a place that drops tallies worth 5k-10k after just a little bit of training... The whole enabling thing, which I also don't really like how it is irl, is just getting kind of annoying...Look at how many people got far in the game before...Is there a need to hold newbies' hands forever? ========== It'd be interesting to see if the helm has some further use that isn't available now...although, I doubt it will have any exciting use as it's meant as a reward for 300qp...but who knows... And we'll also have to wait for September to see if anything comes out of Shattered Hearts and the POH pieces you recieve for completing the statue... And then there's the new wilderness area :o (The new land they said would come out to f2pers in relation to the new skill? Still dunno if that'd be it tho...) well, sorry for posting so much (useless stuff), I'll just keep fletching now...did make it go by a bit faster ;)

I think he means like the Swept Away quest and the other one at x-mas time...they were available to f2p, but are now p2p, so you can't get it anymore.

It only takes an idiot more than a millisecond to divide by 10. In regards to the fail merch I read up above, prices are going to rebound soon so stock up ;) Lobby = success Iron bar chance = success but no use HP update = failure for NOW, until they implement updates that will involve it. I plan to hold on to them :o IDR what I said about them and im too lazy to go back and check and go back to reply but... I bought 70k of them (i dont have a lot of money), and I plan to hang on to them until I can sell them for a good profit...and like I may have said, the upside to it is im goin for 99 crafting too, so they have use whether the merch is good or bad in the end. And right now im making money cutting rubies and making amulets, so I'm fine for now :o

Aside from the fact that this was a fairly useless update for the impatient newbs, the change from hitpoints to a historical document of my country (yes, I know it doesn't mean just that) just made it worse... the new lobby thing is kind of nice but...so many "has logged in."'s (and outs)... also i wish they made my fav. world bigger, cuz if i log out or time out, and click the yellow bar instead, it puts me on a random world, not the world i was last on (dont understand why not...) and smelting update.................umm......................yeahhhh......................................... aside from todays fairly failing updates, im also displeased with my fail merch...fail merching is the biggest way to make myself feel super nooby...on a bright side, should the price not go up a lot as it hasnt been, and assuming the jewelry prices stay the same after i get 99 fm, it should just mean i have part of my supplies for 99 craft... fm is taking me a long time...its so boring that i end up just sitting down in the bank and surfing the net...i know im not obligated to get 99 fm but...its just such fast xp (maybe not for me), i might as well be...

They might as well add a "drop all" feature. all question might as well be answered in there, just read it. "drop all" which will really ruin it all, however the significant bonus XP only last for 10 hours. hmm i agree with sees...it does only last for 10 hours, and decreases as time reaches the 10 hours, however its still 2.7x if i believe? TBH, like all the other easy methods of members training, I'd like to see this stay p2p...however, toss me some skillcapes anytime...

I can't speak for other skills, like wc, but I see a lot of mining bots. I can't even escape to the mining guild because they're there, too. <_< There's some woodcutting bots at Varrock Castle. I've seen multiple people stuck in one square to the south of the GE (just out of the undercover airea, still on the cement squares) stuck for hours. I've been told there are also wc bots cutting yews in rimmington. I went there once while mining and saw like 5 or so people there...Not one of them said hi :c They also all clicked the trees pretty much at the same time...can't prove they were bots tho, i s'pose...

hmm and just wondering (3rd post ik ;o), how do you all prefer to train skills? personally, i like to drill my 99s mostly, and throw some other minor goals in there, too... about to drill fm after 2.2m rc xp (ill get tomorrow...or later today i should say)...fm im dreading...fast but boring...tw...nvm... and after that, mining :o! hopefully i'll get to lvl 85, 90, 92, or 99...not sure about my plan of attack just yet...id like to maybe make some money, rather than only powermine...if i get addy ores, i may also buy some coal, heat bars and make plates and get my smith xp to 14m or 15m... well i finally noticed im rambling...prolly cuz its 12:40 am and im tired so...ill shut up and go to bed now...

But still, getting 99s are also a test of patience. Even skills like cooking require patience, and without it, how can you get 99? a little over a year ago i tried for 99 cook, but gave up at 71 :3 lost patience...much easier second time around, as i mostly read, did hw, talked to friends (rs and irl), and other games...

wow...8m for 92-99 craft? not that i ever looked into it, but i always imagine it being somewhat expensive...maybe cuz i spent 85m on smith :c? hmm well craftings not on my agenda anytime too soon...fm and mining are D: and i hate ignorant p2pers...i just cant...figure out how ppl can be so...hmm...daft? blind? umm...stupid? for anyone who cares, i just beat 2 of my gop solo records today! (finally) 36 fire and 35 body...close to a 38 air, which would be my new rec, but 2 timer ticks-worth of lag stopped me from getting it :,( also, lots of haters on yt :/ ppl sayin i fail cuz i didnt get 40+ with the spawns i had (these vids are a year old btw of me doin 1v1s in gop)...the thing is, i KNOW peoplease can utilize spawns better than me...what i wanna know is can THEY? sadly, though, they have their pchats off in game...and alas, i cant log in to yt on my comp (idk why)...seem like hit n runs to me...or online verbal dine n dash (ab)users... as for the f2p quest, it wont be high leveled, jagex said...but i suppose beggars can't be choosers...? one last thing...i typed all of this on the wii, and for most of it, forgot to open the word finisher thing...i consider this a feat... :3

Actually, I'm pretty sure that was an Halloween event from... 07, since I remember that place and I wasn't playing in 05... I could be wrong, but I think it was the event with the ghost gun or w/e... You had to shoot stuff at ghosts. i believe it was both! I know it was used for my first x-mas event, and it was used a couple years later i believe for halloween....wasnt there a big tree or something on the bottom floor for the halloween event?

Hm another place I'm wondering about. Varrock - the in the basement of the bar place, theres some odd looking places: sorry, last pic came out kinda small... anyways, what are these places?

can anyone identify for me the areas near clan wars that you can see with the orb? I'm pure f2p, so I'm not sure about certain mem areas and such... In the No-items kept (red) Clan wars portal, if you stay along the wall and go east just a little bit, there are 3 sights going south. First, a room with a rope and light shining in, snakes slithering out from around the walls (pretty small room). Behind that you can see a sandy looking plain. I could also see the start of some lava area. Going east just a few more paces, I could see the lava place in its entirety. Looked pretty empty, and had a crevice thing on the east wall that you would squeeze through I suppose. From this few i could also see the plain better. The plain, going in farther, I could see some sort of glass/crystal, or possibly a painting standing up. I could just barely manage to see some glittery stuff falling off something in there too (I couldn't see the object), almost like how the magic trees do (but lower to the ground, i believe). Going all the way to the east wall, then north a bit, I can see an entire room, with a greenish floor. Not too big, has some skeletons and skulls placed on racks or on the ground. It appears empty aside from a white portal, similar to the Runecrafting Altar portals rather than CW portals. So do any of you know what these places are? And sorry, I have no screenshots =\

I have a question. What is south of the rune ess mines? Theres a patch of water and lots of ice. Location: Southeast quadrant of rune ess mines, south spot, use orb, go south. You can see the edge of it without the orb. With the orb, sometimes you can see only 2 spaces or so of the water, other times you see 5+. Depends on world I think? So anyone know where this is? EDIT: sorry, i see someone has already posted it...I saw this the first day on the release of the orb and no one could answer on rsof....and this is my first day on tip it with orb release =\

Hm well I trained smithing anyways...and is Fm useful in p2p O_o? Other than the beacons? and adze...w/e... Hm and yes higher def is said to increase the number of "0"'s you recieve, just as attack reduces the number of 0's you hit. If I recall, and I don't feel like checking, it said it does not affect the amount of damage, only hits vs misses. And Is anyone else annoyed with the quitters at GOP? I get so um...angry...and the things I tell people are likely to get me muted (or a visit by cops if what I say is taken seriously O_o)...I've been good about not saying things like "d" bags (only bypassing the censor) in my earlier days of gop...and I haven't recieved mutes in a while... Still, I've prepared a somewhat lengthy question for MMG for the live q&a's...hopefully I'll remember...Oh I should also remember to ask about that "way of recognizing hero's" both "f2p and p2p alike" that I'll like "better than skillcapes" and what the plans are on that... Okay, this is going to sound horribly noobish but what "red glow thing"? wow you're a noob... (jk) anyways, about 2 and a half hours ago from whenever this post says, everyone playing runescape, no matter the world or f2p/p2p, levitated, then came down and had a red aura thing go around them, some with ghosts next to them. People also said it sounded like the quest cape sound, however i keep my sound off, so i didnt hear it... Personally, I was only have paying attention, and what I saw was me in the air a little, then i saw me on the ground again and then i saw a red aura ring around me and then my character looked over himself a bit confused and I recieved a message in chat box saying "You feel a strange power unleash itself upon you." Sadly, I only have a print screen of the message...I was too confused while watching it to take a pic of that, and stopped fming to run to my friends in the bank i was fming at to see if they experienced it too...and they did...so i went on forums, there were only a few threads when i got there, but the number grew quickly... There are several theories atm...One being the new skill... Another being Zaros' arrival...which would follow up on theories to the most recent postbag from the hedge and the chaos elementals thread... Also, the GWD door thawed a little and there are symbols on it or something? So some think its related to that... Hopefully all the secrets will be revealed soon :)

I can't imagine why they'd do it to F2P as well unless the update will also affect us. So fingers crossed. \:D/ the same thing crossed my mind :)

id say todays been a fairly interesting day of rs :o i experienced the red glow thing... even if the update around it is a letdown, at least it provided some nice suspense :)

BTW, anyone else ready to take merch ccs and affiliates and take a gun and perform certain actions? Cause I am...My short temper has been set off and I'm doing the best I can to control it :c I just hate how Jagex allows them...it's...infuriating... I feel as though, and I know this will sound crazy, I shouldn't be spending my gametime on rs adding merch cc spammers to my ignore list as they continuously pop up on new accounts every 5 minutes or with new members being told to advertise. Of all the things Jagex doesn't allow, they let antfarms like this exist... Ok, I will stop turning this thread into a rant... Um...how does everyone else train mining?
