ugh...I'm kind of annoyed how smithing makes 0 profit...at least concerning the actual smithing part... Looking at prices of ores and armors, I'll make about 50%+ less by making platebodies and selling compared to just selling the products... I wouldn't mind a little bit less cash but...50%? Kind of puts me in a tough decision about favorite skill vs overall efficiency in rs...both of which i enjoy... It'd almost be nice to see an untradeable ore with tradeable products :3

Speaking of the new skill, any time references we can use to try to predict skill release? Anniversary of RS2 release? or classic even? And perhaps the 28 days thing was um...something for us to overthink? Maybe they did mean february and assumed we (the players) would overthink it and consider it a useless hint? I don't know if i'll even train it when it comes out...It depends on my mood when its released i guess... when does everyone else plan to start training it? day its released? whenever you're done with w/e you're working on at the time?

My goals right now are 99 cooking, then finishing up 99 fm...and after that I had planned on getting mining to 99... Not sure of how I will train mining...I might powermine iron a little, and might try to bank supplies to get more smith xp...kinda want 15m xp in smithing (at least)... and after all of this, assuming I focus on mining like i did smithing, this will all probably take me a while...so after I might get wc or fish up...both probably, not sure how far or what 99s after that though... Highest Gop game i've gotten on w61 is like a 54 or something...maybe 57...those games would be several months ago, so hard to remember :)...I prefer my 1v1s to w61 games or team games...speaking of which, anyone wanna 1v1 sometime? PM me in game ;) (sees?! :P)

Exactly, and they only banned the ones that are used to glitch, like the turkey emote and skillcape emotes.

Wow when did they update FOG? It was always fun beating level 80s on 30< accs, EXCEPT when I had nothing to do except stand there and hope eventually their name would show up in the list....

-stares at 1.5m cash pile about to be drained by cooking and fm- ...No comment on prayer/rc...

hey sees ;) and its funny...I see so many people superheating for mage and saying smithing xp is a bonus...for me, superheating was for smithing and mage xp was a (wanted) bonus :D

Well, the day GOP came out, I had pretty low skills (and most of em are still pretty low :)), but I only had 22 rc and trained it while taking breaks from combat. Once I did my first nolifing experience (8pm-3am) for 3-4 days, I had 50 rc. Played a few games of GOP and was already "better" than most (nowhere near as good as the real pros are now though). So I met a buddy and we started winning every game. By the end of September, I had gotten every rc robe and every staff, and moved on to buying essence, and when they had just started becoming better than ess, water talismans. Basically, it's my best way to make money (as I haven't trained many other resource skills). Aside from getting lvl 50 rc, and about 15k-20k xp training after that, all my RC xp is from GOP, which is usually the point that people have made 1m tokens. So since it was something I was good at, and it was the best way I could make money, I continued to do that (and still do, until I get around to training more skills). Oh, and keep in mind that earlier on, games didn't end on air so frequently, so there was less time spent in the lobby and more time getting tokens... As for 99 Smithing, I did it the way I wanted to...Overall it cost me around 85m-90m, but 16m was spent just buying mith bars and smithing them...that was at level 51 (I wanted to get it up a few levels, then decided I liked it and began my quest for 99), and the 16m took me to around lvl 80 (maybe less, can't remember)...but at level 80 I superheated mith and addy bars and sold them back, so I didn't lose much. Then at 88 I superheated addy bars and made plates and alched them until I was 99. So yes, I believe there are better ways but...I'm content with that...

Hm after seeing the List thread go off topic for several days, I thought I'd share my usless thoughts/idea's on here :) First, I'm content with what f2p has. And personally, I don't want them to make training our skills any easier than they already have (It'd almost make my hard work go to waste!)... Although...There are some f2p updates I'd like... 1. Skillcapes? It's not why I train(ed) my skills, but it'd be nice to have...I do have MMG's post about how we won't get them, so I'll just wait for the update that I'll apparantly like better... 2. High level, untradeable stuff? Kinda the same as the skillcape thing...It'd also put some skills to better use...I mean, there's really nothing to smithing seeing as you can make more money selling ores rather than using them, and you can save money by buying the items rather than smithing them...Smithing's still my favorite skill either way, but it would be nice to have something that people can't buy or assist for...more skills than smithing that this applies for, but I like smithing :) 3. Idk...i'm not sure I care much about anything else? At least not until someone brings w/e I can't think of up.... --------- Hmm just saying I also wanna get something like mining to 99...I'll confess to being a GOP noob and gopping for my cash...Not sure where I'd be without it (doubt I'd have smithing or magic?), so I'd like to do something that GOP can't help me with, and would be the same if GOP never happened...Don't get me wrong, I like GOP (especially 1v1s, and yelling at noobs), but I think it's done too much for me...

i hate price manipulators. they're stupid, pathetic, and ruining the game... to relate this to skillers, i dont like when skillers or anyone price manipulates...

nat altar looks fun :c -
Whilst this thread is boring he brings up a valid point. There are some challenges in being a skiller but the main reason people decide to make a skillers is for bragging rights/ shortcut to getting famous. They know they can't reach zezima status the fail at making RSMV's so they skill it up in hopes to get 'omg woah no waiii a lvl 3 with 99 cooking' Yet they fail to realize cooking has no combat relavance thus who cares what lvl you have cooking cape at. This goes for the same thing as..OMG LVL 3 WITH SANTA#!@$#!. Since when does making money have to do with combat. ik i always tell that to the noobs who are in complete awe if a lvl 3 has 99 fm or something. isnt the only reason combat is shown because it was important to see how powerful the people around you were? otherwise i'm sure the combat level next to the name wouldn't be there.

As pin said, we really don't do 5050s, at least not intentionally. If you look at the scores we get, does it really look like we need to anyways? And w61 is the F2P theme world for GOP (that's why it says "Great Orb Project" next to it), and w60 for P2P theme world. Basically any other world is used to 5050, or, more importantly, 1v1, 2v2, etc. -
First of all, its stupid of you to lump the word "skill" into a very narrow-minded meaning. Skill is a diverse word that can take many forms. For you to say Runescape takes no skill but CoD does just shows the lack of mental capacity you have. True, you don't and basically can't dodge enemy attacks in runescape, but there are other skills involved. When I'm fighting hill giants, do you know how incredible your reflexes have to be the first out of 5 other people waiting to attack the next one to spawn? You can't wait 10 seconds, click, and get to fight him. So to say runescape lacks even reflexes show how incredibly dull minded you are.

i agree... personally, this summer ive been spending about 5 hours a day on runescape. most of its spent after midnight. other than sleep, theres not much else i could do, especially that involves a social life. so who cares that im on for 3 hours after midnight? doesnt mean i have no life. its usually some urge people have, to put people down for the stereotypical idea that games are for nerds, so if u play them, you have no life.
-
i feel the same way. I don't see myself quitting anytime in the next 6 months, but im 100% positive that I'm not giving my account away or ruining it. I'm sure even when i do "quit", ill stop by occasionally to see whats up.

I don't know if this is a rant, but it bugs me. Now its "L". For those who don't know, its the shorter version of "lol"... I understood "lol" and why that was there, but does "lol" really need shortening? I mean, come on, the letters are right next to each other, they aren't even on opposite ends of the keyboard. It seems like people are just finding a reason to make a new shorthand word. And tbh, its just pathetic. People: YOU HAVE RESORTED TO A SINGLE LETTER. just leave it at "lol". if you guys are really that desperate for a new shorthand thing, at least make a useful one. tbh = to be honest: useful im(h)o = in my (honest) opinion: useful L = lol: stupid. does anybody else feel my pain?
-
yeah thats true. and as tempting as it is to brag, I try not to unless im asked or the topic is brought up...
-
yeah a lot of people know this. It's a form of entertainment. As with anything else, some people will like it others wont. Keeping it in a generalized form, its just as equal to anything else being a way to entertain someone. In the end, what does any of it matter? who cares if one game takes real skill and another doesnt? None of it truly gets you anywhere. After you die, what value does it have? As with anything else you do in life. No one truly knows what happens when you die (you could even say religion is just an adaption type thing to keep humans motivated and do what we're "supposed" to do, whatever that is), so does it really matter if one game takes skill and another doesn't? Not to be depressing, but my point is that some basic argument you are trying to make can go on to a much larger scale that takes forever to find an end to it, and in the end can basically end with ideas that humans just weren't meant to comprehend and can't understand. so whats it matter if CoD takes skill and rs doesnt?

hm again I have nothing wrong with the cape, and I guess its more the other people than the cape or whos wearing it, but... I'm at ge, and ppl go up to a guy around my level with fletch cape. "wow nice cape". or words to that effect. and I have no problem that people are complimenting it. I just hate how none of my skills get any credit. I know very few of them are good, but my 95 smithing definately took more dedication, hard work, and time to get than his 99 fletch. Not to mention hes p2p and im pure f2p, so he makes way easier money. and yet, I get nothing. im not asking for attention, and idk if i really want it. its more the fact that fletch is easy, and ppl glomp the dude, and smithing isnt extremely hard, but im still next to worthless. it just doesnt make sense to me.
-
I understand where you're coming from...tbh, it often pains me to see ppl get a 99 on a skiller acc, and not on their main...how can u stand having good stats split between 2 accs? although, as qwed said, people do what they want. and having more than one account offers sort of like a little break for me. when I was doing 1800 addy superheats today, I'd take breaks and go work on a noob acc. Noob accs can sort of help you achieve different goals (get one stat high with lower other lvls like cb) that you can't get on your current account.

I despise "merch ccs" as well...I'm guessing you mean price manipulators...as if f2p smithing is hard enough... I just started solo merching as of a week ago. I saw pess was crashing and bought 26k of it and made 400k off it today. But I alone did not affect the prices (or it wouldn't have kept dropping). Very nice stats
