I would join Nero, for the sake of fighting and killing stuff. But I pledge 100% alliegence to Jeremiah! Cause we will most likely get into a ton more fights cause of Nero now. Also fighting Nero, seems more fun than fighting with Nero. Going to need some brute force to do this though. So I may just kit myself out with weaponry.
  2. Debatable, although if we play with 8 of us, maybe not. Vicky2 is still $20, and I don't feel like buying it again. I say the best option now is everyone buys EU3 off steam, seeing as it's still cheap. I'm not paying $30 for two copies of the same game just because some people are too lazy to get their steam version the correct checksum. I agree with Nero. It isn't fair that he'd have to pay more. I've been talking with the Paradox forum a lot about my problems (none of which they seem to be able to solve) so maybe there'll be a breakthrough.

I think Archi doesn't want you guys discussing your life stories on this thread. (Lee, Mather) So keep ontopic. Talking about ontopic I have not been attending sessions lately, and I am sorry. Although I have been thinking about Space, and I believe we should start thinking about using sound technology. Although it can be defended with certain things (like a door for instance) it can be seriously beneficial if we have sound tech used, so far I have found out it can be used for mind control, knocking out and basically messing around with anything alive. But that's only the things I've actually used it for, I'm sure it can dismantle a ship by the use of resoance, and as ships probably have small but vital parts that are easily destroyed (heck being contained next to a bunch of vibrating metals would destroy a lot of things). It could improve cutting power of objects, although this is rather a obselete tech for this. So yeah, sound tech, consider it.
  4. Even though steam is so helpful in getting games, they're annoying when someone else doesn't use it. I guess it's just aggressive marketing.
  5. Dang my world is getting effed up. Granada owns a lot of Castille (this was accidentally cause of me, cause Castille declared war on my ally, and cause I didn't want the prestige taken I joined and caused revolts on all the Granada provinces, which then got out of hand, as Castille was busy with Aragon and Burgundy) England no longer exists, it is now Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Burgundy has eaten most of France. (Although not that strange) Sweden has pretty much taken control of all of Scandinavia (not that strange, again) Venice got conquered, and then for some reason a Parma revolt freed it. It then got excommunicated and I used this chance to annex (I own two COT's, Venice and Corsica, both suck) Austria is pretty much the new France, they're super strong. I've already gotten into war with them, which I lost (well it was more of a draw, but I needed to make peace and they wouldn't accept a white peace, even though it was 8% to me, so I paid em off with 25 ducats, compared to the 300 I got from their allies)
  6. Guys... Do you want some morning rescue? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD-_oLjmCGY
  7. My scores vary like crazy. It's generally between 120-150 though.
  8. Depends what you think intelligence is.... I mean I don't think intelligence is what you know, I think it's a measure of how fast you learn, how you learn, and how you can keep the knowledge with you, oh and how you use it. A man with 80 IQ who is an expert pig farmer may know more than a man with 200 IQ and hasn't farmed pigs ever, but give him a while to learn it and he would surely be an expert in that field.
  9. How do you check the checksum? Also for some reason, I can't disable updating and do the 4.1b patch, as HTTT and EU3 come in one bundle, so they're counted as the same game, it does every update in one download and this includes upgrading to HTTT.
  10. Weirdest thing happened on my game... I was playing a European nation (but this is slightly unrelated) and was just cruising along, and noticed around 1430, England started getting into a bunch of wars and pretty much dominated the British isles, I was about ready to see Great Britain formed, I thought nothing of it at first, but by 1435 or some time near then, I looked over the map and noticed some weird blue colour over a british province, and was like "Is that France?" clicked it, and it was Wales.. So I thought that was strange, looked over to England, and their homeland was almost fully occupied by Wales, Connacht also rebelled and conquered all over Ireland (and then formed it), Scotland recalimed all their lost land too. And England was fully occupied, but not actually conquered yet. I wonder if I'll see a birth of a Welsh empire :o.
  11. It is a silly idea. If it is used I don't see many people playing, they don't want a hegemony to be thought based, I mean the only thing we ever think about is how we're going to win. To structure it like an argument, I'm going to say this No to puzzles, reasons: Exploitable - Google and such (even mod made puzzles are exploitable) Boring - They get boring real quick. Unfair advantages - As stated before, and easily I can pull up an example here. Retech will horde the math related puzzles, as he did in Space. Doesn't really match up to the gamestyle - I mean, in hegemony you're the leader, not the researcher. I can only see the reasons why they were used in Space, because you were the actual person researching Will deter other players - Linked with boring and unfair, basically I can't imagine a lot of players playing if other players can simply dominate with puzzles. Now I'd like to see the counter arguments...
  12. Puzzle based research is an instant NO. Leaves to much room open for exploitation.
  13. Well the thing about electricts, is once you've done it enough to learn the math behind it, then you don't really need math to do it. I'm just saying the fact that they teach you over specialised material at high level math. Although it is a persons choice as to what their future holds.
  14. I personally see less point in math, after a point it is too specialised. Where each thing you learn might be for engineering, physics, architecture, completely useless, also the fact that less and less people are actually required to be mathmeticians, if only a handful of people know it, then they can program computers that do it for us. A bad habit to get into but it's much more efficient. The only use for math now a days is to get a gueastimate of how well a student will handle logical thinking and numbers.
  15. I dunno, today a lot of research isn't even government based. Heck, I wouldn't mind making a full tech nation that sells research teams for specific tasks in turn for protection and cash. Also people wont get pissed if you hide technology in real life, especially if it is military tech.
  16. It is a very good achievement, and you should be proud :) Perhaps it will help with future employers!
  17. I've only ever known a few people get into regional and international math competitions, none of them really enjoyed it that much but felt proud of what they did. While I thought, there wasn't much of a point to it.
  18. AIME? Also, why is your mum pissed?
  19. Supreme Commader 2 YEAHHHHH!

Nanites seem stupid cause they can just be EMP'd and that makes them all suddenly useless. They'd be great for a trap imo, just the trap would take a while to develop and work, it basically would have people fall into an area where nanites have been multiplying for a while, meaning they'd be more effective. Anywho, we need to be diplomatic, talk over each gang leader and see who's best for us.

Hmmm, so civil war broke out? Are there any pro-unity factions? We should fund them and let them take over.
  22. Ah thank you :)
  23. I think I need the battle system explained to me or something, I am still awe-struck at how 1000 Englishman slaughtered 6000 Scots. I know WHY they lost the battle, cause of their low morale from assaulting a province, but why were they ALL massacred? I mean when I fight enemies they seem to retreat cause of morale, and just keep running around until I kill them fully. But I lost tons and tons of troops consistantly against the English cause our morale was low and when ever they'd retreat our troops would suffer 100% losses. Now I originally thought, if they had no where to run they'd just die off, but no, this happened, in Scotland, in England and on the border. There is NO consistancy. :S
