Well, I have to go finish my homework (essay due tomorrow, ah!). Anyways, gl with whatever you decide. Vote Retech for moderator. It'll be way cool  -------------- I'm also a very flimsy person when my own self interest isn't at stake, so it would be just like the old old hegemony, except eventually there'd be a final decision.

I'm not imagining this... Pokes Archi in the eyes again.

Well I'm assuming the person who is autopiloting Japan for me would be isolationist. If anyone tries to attack Japan or vice versa, mysterious steampunk activities cause violent storms which delay the attacks indefinitely.

A little late Archi, we're in a Mayan pyramid. You're going to have to pay the tavern owner for damages. Pokes Archi in the eyes.

Well after all, the ships are for peaceful means. I might as well lend them out to you.

Sere, you may borrow my production station capabilities to construct your three ships. I have approximately 10k PP per turn.

So I'm assuming we're mainly doing a RP moderation system? I could be the war judge fella. Someone would have to autopilot Japan for me though.

Ross, we could borrow a tact from Medieval 2 total war where there is a line drawn from England to France where land units can cross through. It acts as a passage way for both ships and armies, though it would be preferable if no one did battle on it.

Well, I'm sure if we can straighten out the rules, it'll be interesting. Anyways, rifles, instead of gunpowder, could be propeled by compressed steam!

Will we be able to construct ocean-faring ships? If not, then I'm stuck on Britain forever. Anyways, maybe there could be at a certain point in time, after everyone is fully developed and fighting for limited land, a special event which unlocks the mystery of building a ship that can travel to the Americas.

Well really it's not that complicated in this case. It's just basically saying "This ship takes 5 turns to construct" as opposed to "I finished my massive fleet". It's more of a way for players to help moderate each other by saying "That's too cheap, or that's too powerful for the price". There's no "well that's costs 4,800 points, so I produce one and I save half for later."

So basically what we have as a framework for this game is: Everyone gets one strength of category We're staying on Earth ---------------------- My idea for the strength is that you get one unit of that category which is technologically ahead of other nations, and will take some time to catch up to. For example, if England got Naval, then England might choose a unique unit as a Drednought. That unit would then have advantages and disadvantages compared to a normal ship of its time, and Archi could review that, then approve it. Then that would become a ship they could produce. I was also thinking there would be one kind of production station. To make it simple, each ship would require a certain amount of production stations to be constructed. Let's say a dreadnought requires 5 production, so it would either take 5 production stations 1 turn or 1 production station 5 turns, or anywhere in between.

I am keeping out of space. The plotline is that a spaceship crash dropped some spawn on the planet, and they sorta lived in the ocean bottom with little tech until now. Then they invented some weapons (fun names, but still basically rifles) and invaded Japan. They don't remember anything of their past.

Sounds fun! What kind of map?

So basically subs and tanks. Gotcha. I will be playing as the USSRJ. Controlling Japan. Strengths are amphibious (subs) and Naval (ships). After all, they are amphibious by nature, being aliens.
