Because Jagex made it that way. I don't have proof personally, but it has been tested to death. It's the same reason why the berserker ring > Warriors ring everywhere.

    false
  3. Staff doesn't go great with necklace. I don't see why this combination fails, though. The Necklace gives a magic bonus in addition the attack and strength bonuses and you still get the passive effect of it, and when you need to use your melee weapon it will help with that, too. The way I see it, with a hood, staff and 2h, a necklace will help more than anything else. A sag body may give defense, but it'll make both forms of offense weaker, especially compared to a necklace. You are sacrificing 20+ attack with both melee and magic and 11 strength by using a sag body over a necklace. Not going great with and failing are very different. The reason why it doesn't go great with it is because you'll have like 30 mage attack bonus anyway and the added 8 is basically useless, and as you'll be attacking from range, you lose out on the special effect aswell. For melee however, the dps boost is really high and the spec helps alot more aswell. As for plate+leg bind.... what the hell are you tanking while dpsing? nothing, that's it. DPS'ers with defensive binds are basically [cabbage] teammates by default(unless they mostly key, ofcource, and rarely dps). Both rapier and guants probably benefit more from blood neck then staff anyways as well.. So xpx, what do you think....rapier, or gaunts?
  4. I think I'll try out all 3 options (guants, rapier and staff) See what I like. Having a rapier would make me more diverse Guantlets would go well with my B neck and battle axe Staff would help mage of course, and magic has great dps.
  5. I get it...
  6. so between a Primal rapier, Primal Guantlets and a Cele Cat staff, what do you guys think I should bind? I have a Primal Baxe and blood neck now.
  7. vex and tui are keyers who do abnd fairly often, so if you see them on, watch the chat a bit. Other then that, abnd are pretty scarce among the ranked keyers. Be better of starting your own team, and going from there. Once you unlock a few occults, things in DGS become VERY smooth.
  8. You think Phats are 1b+ because people couldn't give money to their pures?
  9. Even if there was no maximum accuracy(as there is no maximum damage), i'd like to know the 3 weapon binds anyone has to justify their tactician ring. If you don't, forget about it. I wanna take a guess a this.... Warhammer Longsword maul ....? So the 3 worst weapons? Wrong. Pickaxe Hatchet Dagger You'd need a weapon for every style so it'd be: rapier longsword warhammer it's just too bad baxe is a batter slash and better crush weapon than longsword/warhammer. Well I didn't guess rapier...because it has a stab agressive, and slash agressive, so bersker covers 2 styles, where as the weapons I guessed, only have one agressive style each. Meh who cares, we're talking about useless weapons (other then rapier now I guess) WHY THE [bleep] WOULD IT!?!?!?!?!?!!?! we heard the first time and second time, there's a reason we ignored you.

While agree atk potions can always help. Their defence is indeed "THAT" low, you literally gain NO defense bonus from them when you use turmoil (other then the initial boost of course)
  12. gravecreeper mage accuracy is more like 80%
  13. only have crush is useless... Unless you have a hex hunter, as far as a damaging bind goes Surge bow>Arrows, always Bersker ring > Tactisian ring
  14. it's still possible to get him, isn't it? Just much rarer. Also factor in that in DGS, many people can only access low occults, as many people come there to learn early after just unlocking their large worthy floors. I think this is worth looking into more (if it hasn't been already)
  15. Maging him has better DPS then ranging other then Hex bow :P (this is assuming you make an empowered fire/using magic potion)
  16. Actually, it needs to be active Right as you gain xp. Basically you want to click an offensive prayer just a split second before your attack animation starts.
  17. The problem is, if you have ragered him, melee will absolutely rape grave, and if you have a team who is competent enough to bless a tombstone each(preferably all the center ones and 2 at doorway) before gating out(which really isn't necessary) there is absolutely no reason to mage grave apart from the last ko hit. What if someone were to say, have a Cele Cat staff bound, and had fire runes made? Would them maging the boss be acceptable? What if no ragers get made (which DOES happen quiet often from my experiences)? What if your team isn't competent?
  18. Past T9 gatherers isn't really worth it, unless you a lot of excess tokens on hand. t10 gath would really be a massive waste unless you have the reset. As for snaping, It really seems absolutely impossible for me with all the stuff i have to carry- looting chests, mining ores, all the puzzles(there is no realistic way for me to drop any tools unless grimy is keying), thus i think it would be better for snaping to be done with otherwise low stats, having a packed toolbox and a few tools on the side(the few most important ones like hammer, pick) so you could really go all out and make strong melees for the whole team. This is partly the problem I can see me having. I don't quiet have the stats you see xpx with, but unless there's other farmers, smithers, miners, constructers, etc. I get called for almost any puzzle that requires them, and quiet a few do. I'll try to work farming into my dunges, but I'm still learning as it is, so we'll see what happens. Now, and a random note. A question. What do you think about using mage on gravecreeper? I've never seen it done in this CC, and I personally think it should. My reasonings are the end of This thread Why isn't mage used on this boss? While I can understand meleeing being better DPS, with the way gravecreeper works, most people find it very difficult to just rush into him all the time. Most people also seem scarred to get close to him again when he "burns" and when he buries and resurfaces, covering the floor with bubbles.
  19. The way his spec works from what I've noticed, is that he burrows down, and a bunch of the tombstones turn purple. Any tombstone that is purple will fire off 2-3 current of...something, I have no idea what it is, electric? in a random direction, usually in a way that coves the entire room. Now, when you stand the door way there only two tombstones that can POSSIBLY hit you are the two by the door, and even those usually wont. Blessing just those two and standing in the door way will leave you completely safe from harm. As for the purple stuff, while he doesn't have it up often, and hit and run is a preferred tactic....most people don't do that, most people get scarred of it and stand off of it until it's gone, missing 1-3 combat turns (depending on your weapon)....it also drops any protection prayers you can use, which can sometimes have an impact on how long you're in the room being useful to your team. Also, after his spec, the room gets full of them, and many times, it's nearly impossible to attack him without standing it, much less when he starts 'burning' again. Maging from the doorway COMPLETELY negates all these problems. It also makes it so the only protection prayer option is protect from range, as it is very rare for him to reach melee range, depending on where he uproots/starts in the fight. I honestly think people should give mage a try, because when I've done it, the results were good.
  20. Really? I doubt it's better than melee. I've -never- seen anyone mage this boss. It actually works very well on him, and I'm surprised it isn't done. Tbh, it'd probably make for faster kills since when people melee, when ever GC says "buuurrrn" everyone backs away for 2-3 combat turns, where as when you mage, you never have to worry about it. Also, when maging, you can stand in the door way, and when he burrows, instead of teleporting out, just bless the two tombstones next the door (only if they turn purple), and stay in the door way, the spec WILL NOT hit you.
  21. I already look for chests, as for herbs I usually just looked for dropped herbs. So it's worth taking the time to buy/plant a seed or two or Lyco/winters? Would it be worth upgrading my Gatherer's ring to t10 then (t8 now) as well?
  22. While melee still out DPS'es magic at many bosses, mage is accurate on all demon bosses (can't do Warmonger, so no idea), although you really don't wanna mage Yk'lagor :P Both 'Nauts Hope devourer Bulkwark (only really notable for speeding C1/2's) Necrolord (better then range unless you have a hex, assuming you're using empower fire surges + pot) Trio meleer Gravecreeper (also makes him safer to fight) It does't sound like much, but mage get's used pretty well in dungeoneering, MUCH more then range, that's for sure.
  23. In other words its almost never better  Well you can losslessly make range armor and making chaps +boots/vambs is relatively easy. If you have a sagi body bound, you start with 77 range attack and with chaps + vams/boots you can easily exceed 110 range attack. Very few people can successfully make full tyrano without wasting time. And assuming you keep the hood on, your range bonus would be 119 with sag body, hexhunter + rest tyranno. I don't really think it'd be worth the effort when melee works so well already. Also factor that full leather lowers your atk. While % wise it isn't a lot for a 2h's stats, it's still -bonuses, I'm pretty sure a rapier out DPS a hex on all shades if you keep yourself leather/cloth free. If not they're very close. What dung are you playing?
  24. that many binds would make dungeoneering way too easy on so many levels. I mean, dungoeneering isn't really "hard" as it is....but that many binds would just make it feel like...killing goblins at level 80....
