Oh no, I entirely agree, I generally dislike subtitles unless the English voice actors really REALLY suck. TTGL is dubbed quite well, Gundam 00 is fully dubbed too.

You should watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica! Probably not really. Cast is all female and it gets really creepy/disturbing/frightening/depressing after episode three or so. Who knew a show whose protagonists are 5 girls with colorful hair could so resemble an H.P. Lovecraft work. You might like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, though it's a bit ridiculous. Incredibly, unbelievably cool, but a bit ridiculous. Gundam 00 is also a passably good show, and Soul Eater might be within your taste.

I recently tried watching the original series. So incredibly boring, Shinji is a terrible protagonist. Literally the most interesting character was the giant mech. In other news, I'm somewhere in the Infinite Eight Arc of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. You don't know how much I'm wishing for Kamina to just pop out of nowhere and give Kyon his 'So you lost your drill?' speech.

As a hobby, whenever I'm bored. In terms of actual gameplay, I'm going to save everyone the headache. Also I figure coming up with a nice character waaaaaay ahead of time for whenever they may be needed is probably a wise decision. Considering my problems with backstory.

It's a world where technology has evolved to the point where organic augmentations are practical for the majority of the population. So when a kid is born, they give them a headband/goggles/whatever, download their brain to it, and then chop their head off. In most cases, the headband thing is capable of sustaining the head long enough for a stable source of energy to be applied so the head doesn't fully die, but for the few cases where that doesn't happen, you end up with a person-in-a-headband. Oh, and the people with heads that survive get technology in place of their necks that lets their head just sort of float above the rest of their body. The majority of people then pick out various other augmentations as adolescents to their financial limit, i.e. arm replacements, wings, tails, etc. So one guy manages to have his head fall off and cracks his goggles on the pavement, revealing one eye, bloodshot due to not seeing sunlight for his whole life. He then goes sober-Gamzee insane, complete with creepy appearance alterations and his cybertronic wings/tail twisting and turning in Lovecraftian geometries. And since I know there's going to be people posting that said world isn't realistic, possible, feasible, w/e: It's my pseudoscience story and I will do what I please with it. Could make an interesting horror story of some sort. :thumbup:
