NOW in reply to Wyvren, I for one would be willing to give up some degree of character privileges to make GMing bearable. Pregens and any such thing are fine, as is any degree of railroading. I just want to enjoy a game with my friends, if Retech can't find enjoyment in the party dynamic alone them we're one player short. Really he's the only one who WOULD play normally but disagrees with how it might be run.

Oh. So, should I go with a Goblin or Svirfneblin? The character I have in mind is a madcap Alchemist with a penchant for ridiculous traps and combat techniques. I'm inclined to go with Goblin because I'm already having trouble seeing him as a normal Gnome and Deep Gnome wouldn't really be better. Gnomes are obviously more powerful and well-suited to the roll of a brilliant, if eccentric, individual though. EDIT: This was not in reply to Wyvren. I understand if he doesn't want to mod.
