  1. Whats the point of writing follow tip.it rules? Specific rules aren't meant to be written down unless they are something like "Do not use" or "keep off the grass" or "warning falling tree", you have to assume that the tip.it forum rules are a given. Just imagine seeing a sign one day telling you to make sure you don't murder people.
  2. Is there any possible way you can arrange it to not be in IRC?
  3. I reccomend really simplifying the sticky, give an explination but make it want to be read by someone who doesn't want to read it (this is a task that nearly everyone find hard). Don't explain, COMPARE if you say The tavern is a place for different types of games that fit this criteria: ETC <--- Bad The tavern is a place for different types of games, usually games a more complexthan the ones that would fit in forum games here is an example <--- Good This works because it allows a person to work out something, and undertstand Trispis, now that we aren't in off-topic anymore would it be ok to leave a thread floating there (not stickyed, just an offical thread reminding everyone we're here and that you can join) because now we basically have no advertisement, we use to be a community within a community and now we're just a community. AND WITH SUCH A DROP IN ACTIVITY We don't get people popping in and joining very regulary, last join was about..... it was close to last year. Basically, big text is intimidating, small text isn't.
  4. I know a bunch of those guys from my days playing there. Then ask them, if you say. "I quit because this site is better and remains better"
  5. Space is a roleplay, its competely different.
  6. Its little effort for a big reward, you don't just play to win you play to play. you want instant. information processing. I want fun things with no gimmicks.
  7. Well, depending on the roll.
  8. Battle reports are fun.
  9. I'll rejoin if your only using IRC optionly.
  10. If a person misses a turn in IRC.... game slowed down. If a person misses a turn in forum......nothing happens.. I think the problem is not with IRC but because everyone is done seperately. Mod A Mod Mod B Mod Mod C A Mod Mod B Mod Mod C A Mod Mod B Mod Mod C instead of A B C Mod A B C Mod A B C Mod Also, I reccomend using the /me command when doing an action. It would allow people to spam without affecting gameplay.
  11. That gives an advantage to people who use IRC.
  12. I'm not dealing with IRC, things can be done over PM. CLICK HERE, IF IT SOUNDS GOOD DISCUSS ATTEMPTING TO START IT AGAIN

  14. Depending on who's the moderator, people will research things and they will fail and although real life works by trial and error it will just become annoying, it will also work on the mod's logic, which when different to a players gets depressing. Also, switching will pose a problem. And researching EVERYTHING for the dawn of civilisation will soon get slow. I like GDP, anything else is just annoying, I want to focus on fighting, not working out cost. I don't see any advantages. NPC's are boring. I would much rather have an alternate history style game with a history and stuff, that way we could agree on what we want and what we don't (for example 21st century no bombs or a retro time period with high technology)
  15. Lol! We'd have to split it into city states My link if interested post.
  16. No-one wants to join, its wierd. I liked space at first but than I found out that a mutiny was impossible and there is no use playing a game under the leadership of a fellow taverner! I'll see if I can boost everything, come back in a week to find a couple of new games.
  17. If someone wishes me to write up a hegemony back story I will, this will leave you to mod, make up the ruleset and everything else. Medieval Asia anyone?
  18. You guys have lost your edge. Two games running, only one game has had any effort put into it. You've become exceedingly lazy and lost any will to make new games, no-one can be bothered to collaborate anymore apart from Archi. Everyones a lot less active because there isn't any reason to be here anymore and most people don't wish to advertise, thus the tavern is going to die. But lets just compare: Past game = here A little ambitious, lots of work put into it, everyone taking part. Present game = here No work put into it, everything already done, little players, copying a past game. Therefore I quit until someone actually bothers to try again, if no-one bothers there is no point to be here. In the time that I was banned only one thread was created, in a month only one thread was created. What I reccomend: you talk to a moderator, you ask them if they would be willing to do a forum feature like falador library attempted (link) and than you work together and try to get some new members and therefore a boost in activity, some more games a reason to come here.
  19. I nearly always have respected everyone, even Rocco. Who although he is rude can take critiscism, can mod a game and can change but you won't do anything you just won't listen and its pathetic.
  20. I'm not whining at all and I'm certiantly not complaining about the game being not fair, I'm just telling you that you have failed as a moderator and have lost all of my respect, I was growing to think you were becoming better and more mature but it was all just a mistake/illusion.
  21. Stop being dismissive, I've given you critiscism you need to accept it instead of pretending you didn't see it. In about ten minutes my respect for you has dropped like a brick.
  22. I quit you are obviously not capable of modding a game. You are unable to take critiscism You believe that you are right all the time when you are clearly wrong. If a player has a problem than there is obviously something wrong. You come across extremly rude, my two above examples are examples. Also you are regulary dismissive and type in caps lock You've given no backstory to anyone, you need to give them a little more than you have and let them chosen there history instead of you. you are angered extremly quickly This was organised badly and messily You insisted on choosing the most gimmicky means despite knowing that it slowed the game down. I thought you could pull this off, I said so to Mather but I failed and to be honest am pretty dissapointed in you. You are the worst moderator in the history of the tavern.
  23. can't you create a new thread. Its neater that way.
  24. I vote forum. Although IRC seems faster the way its being done. Mod A Mod B Mod C Mod it gets pretty tedious. And IRC is filled with nex's jokes so its hard to seperate the off topic junk from the important stuff. seperating jokes from important stuff gets a bit like the left picture [/hide]
  25. Earth, its slower because you do things seperately instead of together. Do you actually think anybody laughed or even smiled?
