what could be new skills they could add?
It'd be nice if the next skill would actually required personal skill instead of repeating repetitive tasks over and over

Though I support SS 100%, people had brung up good points before about the world switching. Though it refreshes every 5 seconds, you don't need to be at your computer while it does that. I usually go back to the forums and wait for the world to load. Sounds like it's in the same group as AFK training and quite unfair. If the new update has removed that feature, we'll know it was considered by Jagex to be "unfair." If it still exists, we'll know it's "fair."

We can't pick and choose, all 3rd party programs should be banned, end of story. Last I checked, being able to switch worlds faster than others is taking advantage of the system. I'll say it again, collectively for like the 50th time, it does not allow you to get into worlds faster. It also does not allow you into worlds that are full. Jagex set the 30 second limit onto the worlds to prevent this. You have to wait just as long as everyone else to switch worlds. It's not just about the world switcher either, the program has everything conveniently placed at your fingertips. MS paint, auto cropping for pics, calcs for everything, quest guides for everything, skill guides for everything, basicly, all the guides and cals tip.it has with a few more. This does not give ingame advantages which is what Jagex is against. There is nothing wrong with liking convenience. Muggiwhiplar is right is saying that the non-SS'ers are loosing this debate purely because they dont know enough about it to put up a good argument. They go mostly by what they hear. No. I've seen it used on several occasions. Plus, if it wasn't faster, why would people use it? After all its called "SWIFTswitch" for a reason, eh? When was the last time you used it, then? I could care less if the world-selection feature was removed. It automatically crops your screenshots for you AND uploads them for you. That saves so much time. It also has a collection of links to commonly-viewed sites along with an efficient high-scores feature which even shows how much XP you are to the next lvl.

Gotta go for a bit... before you anti-SS'ers post, please consider the following points made by both me and other people on this topic (I posted something similar to this earlier, yet few people noticed. I wish this was pasted into the original post): SS does not allow you to get into worlds faster than someone not using SS. It allows you to log onto a different world as fast, if not slower. If a world you select on SS is full, you have to wait 5 seconds per attempt to select the world again. If you don't use SS, you can just keep reloading the world-select page faster than SS does. Even if a world isn't full and you log onto it, you still have to wait the 30 seconds to get logged into the game just like everybody else. SS does not keylog people. It is hosted by Zybez/Runescape Community, which are very respectable fansites like Tip.It is. The creator of SS is retired and would not choose to ruin his reputation over pixels for a game he doesn't play. Nobody is forcing you to use SS. It is only a tool of convenience. Using SS does not make you lazy, nor is it an in-game advantage over other players. Before the rules update, SS was not illegal and using SS did not make you a rule-breaker. The rules have been updated and SS is currently illegal, however a new update which will make it legal will be released this weekend.

The anti-SS users aren't doing so well in this debate. Ironically because most of them don't use SS or know anything about it :P

Convenience at the cost of violating a rule/exploiting a grey area? Alright then. I won't debate it with you beyond that point. Before the rule change it never violated any rules or anything. It's being updated to agree with the updated rules. Thanks for respecting my decision, but under no premise am I aruging about security. I'm only debating about the long standing rule that Jagex has written (and enforced so many times) that is being trampled over. You can tell me it wasn't against the rules because it didn't give you an advantage, but it was meant to. It makes things somewhat convienent, as muggiwhplar said himself. Convenience can be seen as an unfair advantage to those of us that don't trust this source. It's not an in-game advantage. According to your definition of an "unfair advantage," talking to my RS friends on MSN or AIM would be an unfair advantage because I can talk without censors and without limits. Again, I care not for security, but for the integrity of the rules that Jagex has set before us. Doesn't anyone really pay attention to those anymore? Or is everyone still hell-bent on looking for a loophole to keep using this program? But in your previous post I thought you said the reason you wouldn't use SS is because of security. If Strider (creator of SS) was looking for "loopholes," Jagex would address it and change the rules. Jagex and Strider made an agreement regarding the upcoming version of SS, so it's not like Strider was searching for loopholes. And to Pulli23 - You can change your default browser SS chooses - it opens up websites in Firefox for me now instead of IE :P

Because we somehow manage to sum up the energy to click the "World Select" button at the top of the screen. Seriously, okay. You're slightly inconvinienced, get over it and get a life. This barely changes ANYTHING. I'd rather spend less than 5 minutes downloading and installing it so I don't have to spend 5 minutes screenshotting, cropping, and uploading every single screenshot I take (which is a lot). I couldn't care less if the world-switcher feature was removed for it (though people like you seem to think all SS is is a world-switcher). The RS highscores also won't tell you how close you are to the next level of a skill, nor do they allow you to look up someones stats quickly when needed. What's wrong with convenience?

Just wondering... To all of you who choose not to use SS, why don't you? (And don't say "because it's illegal." It will be legal this weekend and it was legal prior to the rule-change)

What are your most exciting moments on Runescape?
A PK'er wanted me to fight them in the Edge-Abyss area, but I refused to skull on them. After cursing at me several times, she finally attacked me. I attacked back and beat her up, so she started running east to the multi area (she thought she was being clever, I figured she had friends waiting there). Luckily, my friend was with me so I figured I'd be safe. When me and my friend start attacking her in multi, a famous PK'er showed up and teamed with her against me and my friend. I managed to survive the whip and dds specs from both of them as my friend and I KO'd the famous PK'er with a snapshot and ice barrage :D After seeing her friend die, the girl I was originally fighting teleported. Go figure :P Getting my fire cape on my two accounts were my other most exciting moments, though I enjoy posting my story :)

Finally found another decent sig quote. ------ Listening to the masses of players that were protesting isn't anywhere close to constructive. What happened to the days of old, when Rule 7 was enforced so strictly that more than half of the players were banned for that particular rule...? When those people started spamming and swearing immediately temporary bans should have been placed on anyone who talked recently. then they should have weeded through everything banning all of those people who broke the rules. If you were there and did not do anything, I DON'T CARE. Ever heard one of Aesop's fables? No? let me tell you a particular one: There was a farmer whose crops were being eaten and destroyed. So one day he set up a trap and catches a bunch of ravens, in the bunch there was also a stork. The stork pleaded for his life saying he had a family and friends, and that he didn't do anything. The farmer responded with "You were in there company, so you will receive the same fate as they do". Now that isn't perfect, word for word copy of the fable, but I hope you get the gist of it. If you were stupid enough to go down there with those people then you should have at least been temp punished. Yeah, the people going to join/witness the protest knew or should have known of the possible consequences. :-w

Their decision wasn't based on the idiotic protesters, it was based on the people who did offer constructive criticism.

Okay, seriously, lol of you.. SS doesn't have anything to do with lazyness. It is, as muggi said, a tool, which makes RS easier to play. Excuse us for using an advantage. Who wouldn't? Thats against one of the stupid rules of jagex, you can't have an advantage over other people who don't know/don't want to use SS. :wall: It's not an in-game advantage.

I don't always have that "extra minute" to look up someone in highscores when they're about to attack me in wilderness or challenge a different opponent in the duel arena. Nobody is complaining about how they won't be able to use SS until this weekend when it becomes legal.

O.K so let me get this straight, you can't be bothered to get off your [wagon] and open your browser, type in the website, click play, select detail and select world, wait a while and log in. How lazy are you people!!!! :-s Using SS doesn't make you lazy - it's a convenience tool. You seem like the kind of person who would rather train on chickens than bandits or something because any easier, more efficient training method would make you "lazy" :?

Bwahaha - stick that in your pipe and smoke it, SS haters! To those of you ignorant idiots, SS does not: -Allow people to get into full worlds instantly -Remove RS ads -Keylog people -Encourage others to break the rules Those of you who say it does either rely on assumption as the basis of your argument or have used an obsolete version of SS

I predict that if bbc responds to your post, it will involve you being flamed for a few spelling errors/typos rather than a counterpoint to your argument. that and more, if you idiots dont get it as yet then i really dont care, i typed over 2000 words and i had enough of your stupidity, you just dont understand as yet. you should read what jagex said and some of my past posts before you keep asking me the same questions and calling me an idiot when you cant even spell intelligent Woot my prediction was correct! \
