  1. With the impersonal machine like profit minded Jagex that we have had recently I doubt that. Everything that Jagex does now except for Mods doing events and going on the forums is to make profit, and even that probably has an alternate goal in mind. And the fact that you need to have a membership to have any chance of winning shows that this is another scheme to make money. Like really postcards for F2P haha.
  2. I love you
  3. Why make it so leaned towards people who have given their money already? For the price of sending a postcard first class every day, you might as well buy one month's credit. The answer's pretty obvious: it's better from a commercial perspective to keep paying players hooked rather than players who don't contribute anything to the company other than ad revenue. If they feel as though their membership credit is an investment which could earn $10,000, they'll stay. Question is, why don't Jagex trust the content of the game to do this already? Could not have said it better myself =) Thought this was a GREAT question that deserved a thread on its own. Discuss

  5. That is plain wrong, when a company is first started the owner(s) own 100% of the shares. If their share drops below 50% then the stockholders take control of the company. Think on it, a share is a piece of the company, if you don't own the majority of the company then you don't have control of the company. This is a fact btw
  6. True, though there is no one to argue with now that we are chilled out, were is Bladewing when you need him.
  7. Thought the troll 2 one was good check this out
  8. It will survive for sure, but will it continue to grow... I love RS and hope that it thrives, the curse we pessimists carry is a heavy one.
  9. I dont like T3 because it is a carbon copy of T2 that was made in order to rake in money. As far as the movie goes (in my opinion) its bad watev if it floats ur boat so be it. But you cant argue with the fact that Troll 2 is an amazing movie just look at this fine display of line delivery
  10. Runescape has the greatest graphics of all time and Jagex is gifted by god, RS will never die and will grow larger then WOW and CoD combined. wow my finger really smells for some reason????
  11. Wow T3 was your favorite of the series...... you have lost your right to argue with me I will not respond to any of your posts on this thread after hearing that T3 is your favorite in the series. And let me guess you like Avatar by James Cameron and hated Inglorious Bastards. And that you loved the prequels in the star wars movies but you don't like the old ones because they were too slow. Ever seen Schindlers List, well don't you wont like it. And the My sisters keeper movie was no doubt emotionally deep for you as well.
  12. He never said anything about dying. The OP's post is regarding whether or not RS has reached it's peak. in other words, now that RS has been updated so fiercely can the game continue to improve or will it stagnate or slowly decline. Nothing about dying buddy. and your post doesn't end this thread ROFL. This is a valid discussion among the people that understand the topic like me. For people like you it's just another doomsayer post on RS coming to an end. Ah, I get it. So the OP is saying that Runescape has reached its peak and will now begin its steady decline into stagnation and desertion. You're right. Definitely not a ROONSCAPE IS DYING OMFG thread. The OP is not saying this. at all and neither am I. In your opinion the OP and I both believe that middle aged men of around fourty are DYING OMFG. The game has passed its peak and will start to decline slowly, just like you are dying the second you are born. Bladewing, what I mean by people like me understanding this thread is that this thread is not about how many people join/leave/return to the game but the quality of the game and the evolution of the game. Sure, more people can join everyday. Hell the population on Rs could double tomorrow and Jagex still jumped the shark because of the radical game changing updates that they have recently implemented. With the addition of the fact that there are no more skills that could fit into the game, the only remaining outlet for updates is quests but many people don't even give quests a second glance, and that questing is not a huge timetaker. In general what the OP and I are saying is that in terms of the quality of the game and the development of the game, The shark has been jumped. Here is a great example. The terminator movie series jumped the shark with T2 even though more revenue was made with the terrible sequal T3 (The decline after the shark jumping) That's why you people dont understand this thread. That pretty much sums it up. And bladewing how bout you start making arguments instead of quoting me and making one word statements.

The clock tower rang once. A small child ran through the tall grass laughing, yelling, chasing the wind. The clock tower rang twice. A child sat in school reading an adventure book instead of taking notes. Imagination running wild, possibilities of daring and adventure flashed through the mind of the boy. The clock tower rang thrice. A teenager played in a field with his friends. Participating in a violent game of physical force and willpower. The struggle of a young man fighting with his peers for supremacy. The clock tower rang for a fourth time. A teen, on the brink of manly hood stood in front of a recruiting office. Ready to fight and die for his country. His people. The clock tower rang for a fifth time. The drill sergeant barked orders at the young men. Sweat, tears and blood mixed with the mud under the feet of the conscripts. The clock tower rang for a sixth time. A war had broken out across the land. Boys in men's uniforms, filling shoes that were too big. The clock tower rang a seventh time. Explosions rocked the fortress, soldiers frantically poured water onto exposed burning wood. The enemy drew closer. The clock tower rang an eighth time. The men had fallen back to the inner sanctum, tensed, poised, and ready for a fight to the death. The clock tower rang for the ninth time. The enemy barged into the sanctum, blood, gore, and chunks of flesh were flayed into the air by terrible weapons of killing. Man on man fighting to live. The clock tower rang for a tenth time. The men, pounded by assault and surrounded with no hope raise the white flag above the fortress, any hope of victory was lost. The clock tower rang for the eleventh time. The scarred man was led to a courtyard by chains on his feet and hands. Certain death awaited at the wood platform in the center of the courtyard. The clock tower rang for the twelve time. The mans head was bowed, the crushed spirit of a broken man. Another man stood with an axe raised above his head poised for the finishing blow. The last ring echoed through the courtyard, as a faint swoosh was deafened by distant war drums. The clock tower of the broken castle remained silent, so very silent. This was something, I dont know what it was or how it is classified just watev. If it is awesome be truthful if it sucked be truthful and offer criticism were due.

Loved both POV's but I have to go with bean's. I have heard that the sequals are much more dry then enders game and enders shadow, though I have never read them.
  16. Yes im getting it. Its asking for your RS username and Pword so just keep clicking out of it.
  17. Thankyou stormrage for having the balls to say what is needed. That free trade is not needed and not welcome by many players. Especially low to mid levels, how hard do you think they were hit by the raw item crash. People were fine with the OG G.E now its top heavy and the only people benefiting are super rich flippers.
  18. And regardless of weather I read carefully or not I'm right, a doomsayer is someone who speaks of a doomsday buddy.
  19. "Jump the Shark" has been an idiom since 1977 ... Wikipedia FTW
  20. 1. i neither said nor implied OP said game is dying 2. i never said anything about doomsday Doomsayers lol, well Doom is a totally bad fate, you compared the OP to a doomsayer therefore you implied that he was one. When he is not, he is just saying the game will decline.
  21. The whole point of the OP's argument is that Runescape was not attracting enough new customers. So in order to get more they added the free trade and wildy update. Sure, its true that right now there is more traffic but that is because Jagex"Jumped the shark" in the words of the OP. Not that its a bad thing but I cant see any more huge updates that could be possible with the addition of DG, and the return of free trade and wildy. Ok so more quests and levels of GDWD can be added and more minigames can come out but there cannot be any more HUGE fundamentally game changing updates like this last one. So in that respect the OP is right, the game cannot move much more forward. RS will not die but you will not see nearly as many new players as time goes on as interest in RS dies down again. And Bladewing learn how to read, he is not saying the game is dying but only at a peak were the other updates wont compare and the game will decline. That's not "Doomsday" talk buddy

okay so I am lvl 82 in wc, just wondering if the D hatchet is worth the money. Sure I can afford it with little issue but a mil is a mil especially to a poor little skiller like me. I currently use the rune hatchet and it gets the job done fine, I'm just wondering if the D Hatchet is worth the money.
