OKay.... from an earlier post, I established that once I go p2p, I will use dragon scimmy and abyssal whip. However, I have heard numerous times that the scimmy is faster than the whip. I thought it was the other way around. So, once again, which is faster? THANKS!

It sounds as though someone thought this game ruined their life... Kind of annoying... nearly every assumption was wrong when I look at myself... I have a job, girlfriend, am very athletic, have a 3.8 gpa and... well... yeah, this game is absolutely not a problem for me. I find this far too aggressive to be any help to those people who do have those problems though... it is more degrading than helpful.

Raise all stats in the 30's and 40's... they may not be enjoyable, but will easily be the fastest... you only need about 100k total xp to get a skill to 50... so raise those and you'll be up there.

Yes, your magic and range give you higher hp.... depending how you trained, possibly higher defense as well... nice stats!

Lessers on crandor can be good if your fishing and cooking is high and you don't mind running back to do some fishing. I started there about a week ago with 61 att, 68 str, 61 def, and 67 hp....now am 70 str, 70 def, 70hp, 63 att (and raising) and have made over 300k... however after I burn a load of lobs, I tele to lumbridge and sell all steel and mith stuff, alch rune meds, and deposit cash in Draynor, then go back to Karamja.

I agree 100 percent. Salmon and trout are the fastest.

I just started playing again almost 2 weeks ago now... after a 242 day hiatus. I thought I was pretty well leveled and everything... I probably was not nearly as leveled as you, but I though I was pretty high and got bored too. I had money for membership, but never signed up. I planned on quitting for good... and one day I though about RS for some reason. I decided to get on and check stuff out a little bit, and now I am addicted again. A break can really help out. You can put it out of your mind and you might one day just feel like playing it, and it becomes fun again... or it did for me. I am now training up and about to become a member. Too make a long story short, which I can't do because I told the long story already, join up as a member... but since you can't, taking a break and possibly making money to become a member may be just what you need.

I highly recommend minotaurs in the stronghold as well. Fishing will probably need to be about 25-30 to get fish at a decent rate, and cooking up around there to. I made 100k off of iron arrows in training an account up to 55 combat (40 att and def, 55 str, 37 or so prayer) and started with 20 def, 30 att and 45 str.

Yeah, it isn't uncommon to see people in fally selling at that price. Not a bad route to go either.

I raised from 300k to 1 mil in about 2 days off rune essence... It can take quite long at times though, finding someone to sell for less than 30 each. But selling back for 40 each is pretty easy... so you might try that....

Okay, so I probably can get away with saving up 2 mil and have some left over if I go with whip and dragon scimitar. I think I will definately go with those two. However, a couple new questions arose (SORRY!). I am just curious, why use the scimitar for training strength and the whip for attack and defense? Just wondering what difference it makes what weapon I use for training the certain skills.

Okay, a couple more questions... Is the whip pretty accurate... like, close to a scimitar? Also, I tend to be a bit reckless... If I die with full rune and a whip, will I keep the whip? I guess I could search it's store price... which I will do, but I figure I'll ask here too. Thanks!

If I have 70 attack when I join, will I be able to instantly purchase a whip and use it, without raising any other stats like slayer (I know that's how you get one from killing... I think...) or without doing a certain quest?

Okay, forgot to mention, I have been a supplier of lobs, logs, and other stuff for a friend who is a member for a while... and he is providing me with a few, what he calls "necessities" and the dragon dagger is one. So, besides that, what should I aim for? Also, I am upping the number to 3 to 4 recommendations... there is quite a bit for me to choose from. If you could, let me know how dragon weapons perform compared to their rune counterparts, and what rune weapons others, such as whips, compare to (I know, I am a pain in the arse). Finally, I would really appreciate prices... I know where to look them up, but I don't want outdated prices. Thanks again!

I plan to become a member once I have finished up a bit of training in certain areas. I would like to save money to buy something better than rune once I have done the quests I need done or do whatever I need to to meet requirements of the weapons. I was just wondering what you guys recommend I save money up for (non-barrows). I am a fan of my rune scimitar, for it is fast hitting and accurate. I am not bound to a scimitar, and don't mind other weapons sometimes. I would appreciate if you recommend 2 weapons with their estimated price. Thanks much! *EDIT* Please make 3-4, for I now realize a large number of weapons will become available. Please don't list barrows or dragon daggers (will be recieving for free upon joining). Also, I plan to have at least 70 of every melee stat before joining. Thanks again!

With your def, I would calculate it as 1-1.5 lobs per lesser

Hmmm... interesting... would anyone else recommend bronze then?... I'll check out the tables as well and see what I can find out.

Another question... Would anyone suggest iron arrows over steel arrows for training on lessers? They are much less expensive, and slightly weaker... any recommendations?

I am training on lessers (f2p) in karamja, to raise fishing and cooking a bit as well as combat. I have come across a question though... am I better off with silverlight or my rune scimitar? I hit 2 higher with silverlight than rune scimmy.... however, I take longer to kill them and hit more 0's. Is silverlight a much less accurate weapon? My next question involves ranging... I am level 65 at the moment and want to get to 70... I would like to continue training on lessers. About how many steel arrows will I need to buy, if I pick them all up? Thanks a bunch. *EDIT* Also, I feel as though I am being hit more and with higher hits when I use silverlight, than I did with rune scimitar... Anyone else experienced this or have knowledge of this. I realize that taking longer to kill them will make me get hit more... but it seems that I get hit every other time, rather than every... 5 or so before I used silverlight. (65 def) **EDIT** I ditched the silverlight... I hit 16's as compared to 14's with scimitar... but I got hit a lot more than usual. Thanks a lot.

Mining rune essence is really fast if you go to aubury in varrock, and can sell for 30 or even 40 each. It doesn't take long to get 1k essence and that is an easy 30-40k. If you get sick of mining essence but have made some good money off of it, you can use that money to buy it at 20-25 each, then sell it again at a higher price. : ). I turned 300k into 1 mil in a couple of days that way.
