  1. Looking @ statistics, Chroms runs Java the best, IE worst... hmmm.

Are you sure that's not running Javascript the best? I thought Chrome was pretty bad for java-based programs.

Yeah, keep in mind that as confusing as it may sound, JavaScript and Java have fairly little to do with each other.

I ran a quick test using all options I have available here. I'd just boot up the game and leave it to run at the login screen with the animated background enabled. Highest graphical settings, no sound.

Internet Explorer surprisingly enough didn't even get to the point due to some bollocks Java error. The options screen said that Java was enabled but RS claimed that it wasn't.

As far as memory goes, the amount of memory used by the actual game seems to be identical across browsers. Chrome used about 150mb for the browser (chrome processes) and 200mb for the game (java[Caution: Executable File]). Firefox used around 70mb for the browser and 200mb for the game. The downloadable client used about 210mb total.

As far as CPU usage goes, it's hard to judge since it changes so much depending on what scene is shown. Overall, it seemed that the official client and Chrome were about equal in CPU usage, with Firefox' usage being a little bit below them.

That said, Chrome does have some annoying issues on F2P; whenever the advert changes it causes some whacky blinking and stuff. Might be 'cause I haven't updated for a while though :P

Hmm, quite interesting; have you tried Safari, though? Also, how do I know when I have to update Google? I thought it updated itself.

  2. Chrome has this annoying status bar that appears/disappears on its own. While it doesn't seem like much, my entire screen got blacked out by it before.

    Not sure with Safari.

Firefox works fine for me, plus it's the only one out of the 3 that works with the Game Bar so that's the way to go.

There's a RuneScape extension for Google Chrome; it's much cleaner and better-looking than Jagex' failed Conduit-made-toolbar. Besides, using Google Chrome search engines, I get everything at my hands with a snap.

  3. So I have been looking at the Summoning Skill Calulator on Tip It and I do not understand what "Scroll Transformation" involves. Can someone please explain this to me? Thank you....Delmysgirl

Scroll transformation; transforming summoning pouches into scrolls. For every pouch you transform, you'll obtain 10 appropriate scrolls (i.e. if you transform a bunyip pouch into scrolls, you'll obtain 10 'Swallow whole'-scrolls).

    Hope this helped

  4. Salamanders are great for experience, especially red ones! Depending on your objectives, I'd do red salamanders (once possible) for experience or red chinchompas for money. Unfortunately, red chinchompas are quite crowded due to botters and other hunters, so that's another factor to consider!

Regarding the bird hunting; it seems logical - I'm not sure, however. I personally believe smoking traps is too tiring and not worth it; up to you, though!

    Hope this helped!

  5. Holy [cabbage]

I just got it and it drains fasttttt.

What are some tasks that Piety shouldn't and should be used?

    EDIT!

I want to get 92 Herblore. Yes, it is a LONG way fro 57, but how much gold should I budget? I'm willing to grind some money making methods if it isn't too bad.

    Piety:

It depends on how well you obtain money through other methods. If you easily make a lot of money, I'd use piety on every task, but if you don't, then perhaps on tasks with monsters that either have high defense, that you'd like to die more quickly or where you need more defense because of the hits.

As far as herblore goes, consider this: which potions would you use most frequently (I'm guessing super antifires, extreme attack and strengths)? Why would you get such a high herblore, anyway? You can use spicy stews to boost your herblore +5 (decent rate of occurring) making you able to produce every potion @ 91 herblore. And I doubt you'd need overload potions @ your level, anyway. You might wanna decrease your targeted herblore level and wait 'till you obtain more money overall so you don't have enough money for other things once you decide to train it. You might also want to use your money on other things instead (e.g. 95 prayer). Whatever you prefer.

    Hope this helps

  6. Granite is inbetween, but I'd still suggest rune over that. Void knight armour is pretty good, as well (obtained through the mini-game Pest Control or possibly Conquest). As far as helms go (if not using void, which require another helm), I'd use a berserker helm/helm of neitiznot if possible. I would not recommend dragon armour (the dragon plateskirt is an exception) because it's extremely over-priced.

I'd still use a rune scimitar until you obtain 60 dragon. At that point, I'd use a dragon scimitar. If you get 70, switch to an abyssal whip if you have enough cash... once/if you reach 80, consider getting a chaotic weapon (through dungeoneering).

    Hope this helps

  7. The reason for the high levels might be your stats, set complexity and floor number. If you want lower-levelled bosses, maintain/decrease those factors if possible (e.g. maintain stats, decrease complexity, decrease floor-number). It is, however, better (in terms of XP) to just kill those high-levelled ones efficiently (e.g. by having enough food, using prayer, potions and whatnot).

    Hope this helps!

  8. Use NPC contact, it's the fastest method. Remember, it's often better to do something a quick, expensive way and to make money another way (e.g. use dragon bones instead of normal bones for prayer XP, and instead, make money to compensate the loss of the dragon bones...)

    Hope this helps

  9. My experience probably came from dungeoneering with Swagology, then (#21 overall). Oh boy, he was pro (SSH, primal 2h sword, primal platebody, primal platelegs, 100% maxed).

    ^^

Edit: I can post a screenshot if you don't believe me lol

lala's point was that if there is a player with much higher skill total than everybody else isn't active, then the floor will go slow.

I'm not sure how your experience is relevant to his comment if your keyer was maxed.

Obviously nobody can have a better skill set than him.

Well, everybody should be active (in my opinion, at least)... and having a maxed player disables the inability of opening every door. But I see your point

  10. In your situation, farming herbs is not worth it. Instead, for XP, you should farm all sorts of trees (be aware, though, this is very expensive).

Edit: Looking @ Quyneax' post above, they seem to be worth it. Cannot verify that, though.

Also, to make herb farming reasonably acceptable, here are some things you should include:

    1) Use supercompost

    2) Use an Ardougne cloak for teleporting to the Ardougne farming patch

    3) Teleport to Catherby using Lunar spells

    4) (Obviously) teleport to Morytania using ectophial

    5) (Obviously) teleport to the Draynor farming patch using an explorer's ring

    6) Use magic secateurs

You should, however, realize that the patch @ Trollheim cannot be diseased, but it takes longer to access (could be done by spellbook-swapping, by the way).

  11. First of all, make sure you're playing on a stable server and on a good PC (so it's responsive). That'll determine the rate of responsiveness regarding display of Jad's attacks and your switches. Secondly, practice them. If meleeing Jad, consider using this technique:

*Pray magic whenever you hear the 'boom boom'sound

*Pray ranged whenever you see him stomp

*Pray melee whenever the attack is finished

I'd personally tank out the healers (especially if you have a lot of food remaining) as they might distract you from his attacks. Good luck!

  12. 5) Chinning is the fastest, especially when using this:

Overloads (or extreme ranged potions), rigour, void (deflector), armadyl chestplate, amulet of ranging, ranger boots, archers' ring (i), Ava's accumulator and a steel titan + scrolls.

    You can also cannon stuffzzz

Edit: if using curses, you can also use leech defence to decrease your opponent's defence to hit more frequently... an amulet of zealots will also boost single-skill-boosting prayers by 5% (e.g. eagle eye's original 15% to 20%)

  13. My experience probably came from dungeoneering with Swagology, then (#21 overall). Oh boy, he was pro (SSH, primal 2h sword, primal platebody, primal platelegs, 100% maxed).

  14. I'd probably say the stronger the mage, the higher possibly of receiving one, but I'm not sure; couldn't find any information on this. One possibility, though: since the box requires 70 dungeoneering to equip (at least outside), you might wanna do floors that require 70+ dungeoneering to access in order to obtain one. Not sure, though. Good luck!
