  1. In f2p, you don't really have that many options. Spear out DPSes every other weapon/style on every monster/boss with very few exceptions and binding another weapon isn't really necessary. So you can either go with gauntlets (+4 strength) or a platebody. Easy choice. In p2p you have blood necklaces, hexhunters + plethora of other options for your third bind. Your need for food is also reduced with soul split. You don't bind spear because of class rings so you might go for a good stab weapon. There are so many more options. No f2p options. For the record, my binds are hex hood and p2h. On my f2p account it's plate and spear.
  2. I would suggest you dg on w7. OrTradeMe iis correct in that w61 dgers are usually better but for that same reason you almost certainly won't get invited to parties on w61.
  3. How about some numbers? Fractite gauntlets: +6 +9 +6 -1 +5 Fratite platebody +100 +93 +54 -6 +101 Let's consider the case of the gauntlets. Let us generously round its defensive bonuses to +10. With 99 defence, the maximum defense roll is 128. Now for the platebody. Let's round down the defense bonus against stab, slash and range to +90. With 44 defence, the maximum defense roll is 130. Against crush, which the platebody protects only +54, with 60 defence you would have a defence roll of 130. So this means that for foes who use ranged, stab or slash, the platebody acts as 99-44 = 45 defense levels. For foes who use crush, it acts as 99-60= 29 defense levels. Consider then that you have 99 defense. Your defense roll with a platebody would be 262 compared to 128 with the gauntlets. How much does this help? Consider a hypothetical monster with 50 attack and 50 attack bonus whose max attack roll would then be 108. His 108 versus your 128 would hit 42.2% of the time. His 108 versus your 262 would hit 20.6% of the time. So in this instance, it would more than halve the amount of damage you take from this monster. Vis a vis the issue of weight. If you don't have the platebody, you have to kite around monsters as opposed to someone else who simply stands in the middle killing everything. That mitigates the weight of the platebody. In any case, cbers don't run out of energy on smalls. On larges, it is sometimes an issue but three teleports and good communication can reduce the need. As I said before, fractite gauntlets increase the DPS of your group by less than 2%. I would hardly call that a worthwhile bind.
  4. No, that's exactly the point I was trying to make. If you play for fun, why worry if others binds plates or don't flash prayer? Therein lies your hypocrisy.
  5. Your logic isn't even internally inconsistent. You laugh at people who bind plates because it's a waste. You laugh at people who don't flash prayer and don't kite. Yet despite all your efficiency and advanced techniques, you earn half the exp they earn because you insist on w7 dging. So why bother?
  6. Okay. Do whatever works for you. I'm going to stick with w61 and 90k xp/hr.
  7. They do increase dg speed. They let you spend less time eating. Fractite gauntlets + fractite spear has a +71 strength bonus compared to +67 for just the spear. That's less than 2% increase in dps. Consider how much time you spend fighting in a dg and that smalls are <5 mins and you would save under 3 seconds per small and 12 seconds per large, if you spent 100% of the time fighting which is clearly not the case. Meanwhile, a plate saves you from having to eat on smalls and greatly reduces the amount of food in larges. Consider it takes 2 seconds to eat a piece of food. If that platebody prevents even 100 damage, it's more worthwhile than gauntlets. No, you're not going to die if you don't have the plate. But that's missing the point. It does save time as I explained above. And your contention that ranged is better for most bosses is wrong. The spear outclasses frac arrows in DPS and the weakness of most bosses is actually stab. Piled? It's much faster to just rush in and kill everything than to position yourself to kill monsters one by one. I dunno, it seems you guys are w7 dgers. Most of the cbs on w61 have a plate and that seems to work for them. As I said earlier, the people with plates aren't incompetent either.
  8. Isthatok is the only cb who has gauntlets over plate that I've seen. Everyone else, including maxed cbs like Kadour zhiani, dragonmichae, arkhangelsk, tezaki1 and alienknight all have plates bound. Also, I wonder if there's a list of the best w61 cbs out there somewhere. I know Kadour is probably the best that's still active. Never been with popo. I hear Kameeru and loikzorro are good too but I've never been with them.
  9. You are completely missing the point. If Jagex had said the capes were p2p from the onset there would not be a single person complaining. No one here is complaining that F2P doesn't get enough benefits. They are complaining that Jagex said the capes would be for all players but didn't deliver.
  10. Scroll of efficiency is f2p.
  11. Attack levels increase damage per second linearly until you hit 50% of the time. After that, the relationship becomes logarithmic. You will hiit 50% of the time when your max attack roll is 1 greater than the opponent's max defense roll.
  12. Damage scales linearly with strength levels for the most part. That means that weapon x will always be better than weapon y regardless of strength level.
  13. The maximum amount of damage dealt from each weapon, assuming you hit your max hit everytime while wearing F2P training gear (Strength amulet, rune gauntlets) is : Gravite Rapier Speed = 2.4 seconds, Max hit 218, DPS 90.8 Gravite 2h Sword Speed = 3.6 seconds, Max hit 290, DPS 80.6 Rune Scimitar Speed = 2.4 seconds, Max hit 211, DPS 87.9 Gravite Longsword Speed = 3.0 seconds, Max hit 242, DPS 80.7 Accuracy 99 attack with Amulet of Power vs 99 defence with 220 defence rating. Gravite Rapier = 21.4% x 90.8 = 19.43 Gravite 2h sword = 26.8% x 80.6 =21.6 Rune scimitar = 20.6% x87.6 =18.0 Gravite longsword = 21.9% x80.7 =17.7 99 attack with Amulet of Power vs 80 defence with 220 defence rating. Gravite Rapier = 25.9% x90.8 =23.5 Gravite 2h sword = 33.8% x80.6 =27.2 Rune scimitar = 24.9% x87.6 =21.8 Gravite longsword = 26.6% x80.7 =21.5 99 attack with Amulet of Power vs 60 defence with 220 defence rating. Gravite Rapier = 33.5% x90.8 = 30.4 Gravite 2h sword = 44.0% x80.6 = 35.4 Rune scimitar = 32.5% x87.6 =28.5 Gravite longsword = 34.6% x80.7 =27.9 99 attack with amulet of power vs 30 defence with 80 defence rating. Gravite Rapier = 75.1% x90.8 =68.2 Gravite 2h sword = 80.9% x80.6 =65.2 Rune scimitar = 74.1% x87.6 =64.9 Gravite longsword = 75.7% x80.7 =61.6 99 attack with amulet of power vs 1 defence and 50 defence rating. Gravite Rapier = 94.8% x90.8 =86.1 Gravite 2h sword = 97.1% x80.6 =78.3 Rune scimitar = 94.7% x87.6 = 83.0 Gravite longsword = 95.0% x80.7 =76.7 What can we conclude? 1) In all situations, as expected, rapier is better than scimitar 2) In all situations, longsword is the worst 3) Gravite 2h sword is better in situations where the monster/player has moderately good defense. It is worse in others. Since we do not know the defence levels of monsters we can only conjecture on the effectiveness of the g2h against them. I would wager that it is better against ankous, lessers, but scimitar is better against spiders. As for Fist of Guthix, if you are not worried about cost, the absolute best weapon to use is maple shortbow with adamant arrows, amulet of zealots and eagle eye prayer. This is the best damage per second since defence levels are reduced. A few assumptions I made: Strength levels increase DPS linearly. This assumption holds true for the most part. I realize I did accuracy with amulet of power but dps with amulet of strength. It shouldn't matter too much. Full rune's defence rating against crush is 200, not 220. This increases the effectiveness of g2h in those situations. edit: yikes, that is some ugly formatting. If a mod with knowledge of the table code could edit my post, that would be much appreciated.
  14. Okay, I've reread your article and reread our last few posts and I think I've discovered the source of our disagreement. You think botting causes deflation and I think botting causes inflation. Yes, you are correct in that if deflation occurs, having lots of GP is best. In this scenario, gear and rares will dip. However, I do not think your assertion is correct. Bots do cause inflation. In a normal economy, inflation happens naturally. There will always be more gold entering the game then leaving it. What do bots do? They accelerate the economy by introducing more logs, which are then fletched, which are then alched. Yes, RWT companies may hoard gold, slowing the rate of inflation but this will not stop it. It will come into the economy eventually. edit: As for your comments about new ways to get godswords; I think it has more to do with chaotics reducing the demand for them. To be honest, I'm a little bewildered that you think there's deflation in this game. Do you not remember when shelling out 1 million hurt? Players can make millions of coins an hour at the moment. I'm not one to watch Youtube videos but there are some from a few years ago proudly crowing about 600 million banks.
  15. No, high level gear in general does guard against inflation. Specific high level gear may drop in price because of other reasons not related inflation and deflation. Just as an example, third age mage amulet has been killed since arcanes were introduced. With regards to not being able to afford a rare: If you don't have the 80 odd million for a mask, you probably aren't worried about inflation or deflation anyway. I think you are overestimating the amount of bots whose purpose is to RWT. A great deal of bots are used for personal gain. These botters then use their gold in order to buy up rares or high level gear, further increasing the demand for such items. Botting causes inflation, not deflation.
  16. I would suggest to completely forget the idea of mining coal. Mining iron or granite is better for experience (at least until 80 mining) and there are myriad other ways to get the money to buy your smithing.
  17. The article states that the best protection against botting induced deflation is hoarding GP. I disagree. Botting only causes deflation in raw materials and commodities. The best guard against this is rares (failing that, high level gear).
  18. Like I said, Dragoons cc (friends or clan) by Negative12. Also, where can we see our death values? I want to see the protect values of dung items too. For now, you have to infer them. I imagine Jagex will update it soon enough.
  19. No, it will show it. He's been banned/reset.
  20. I've been wanting to get my runecrafting but I'm discouraged at how much essence costs at the moment. I'm well aware that the Aubury/Larryr cape switch mucked up the essence bots for a week or so but I've visited the mines since then and the bots seem to be operational once again. If you look at the price graph, you can see where the essence rose because of bot malfunction, plateaued as the bots came back and then suddenly started rising again. What gives?
  21. Oh. That's a good point. Slipped my mind.
  22. I'm asking the Runetracker admin about it right now. For what it's worth, I have no stake in this. I'm not f2p and it doesn't matter to me whether or not tezaki is. I just don't like cheaters. I'm not saying she is a cheater but if she is, then people should know. This is not a witchunt.
  23. Did you even read the post? She went from 95 M to 104 M in less than 18 hours. I have no idea why you are bringing up membership or ALs. Just look at the graph. There's a huge jump from May 31 to April 1.
  24. Back on the topic of Tezaki1.. I remember her just reaching level 119 and then a few days later she was level 120. I was shocked at how quickly she did that but I just assumed she powered through it. But now I look at her runetracker and she had 95 M exp on 12:17 PM March 31 but then at 11:41 PM of the same day she had 104 M exp. That's a gain of 10 million dungeoneering exp in less than a day. Not possible. Link It's possible that the Runetracker is glitched but I do distinctly remember her going from level 119 to 120 in the span of a few days at the most.
  25. I'm sitting on 3 millionish earth runes right now. Ever since the Aubury update the essence bots have gone and essence is shooting up. This has resulted in some runes like natures and bloods also shooting up but earth runes have stayed pat. Is this because runecrafting is not a major factor? Where do all the other earth runes come from?
