The issue with just putting a ton of Oxheads onto one ship, is that you then lose a good chunk of the Solidarity bonus. Having a boatfull of them would only be good for triple stat voyages, which are only one of many possible outcomes. See they were actually chosen a lot by the calculator. Because ox heads are equal to other crew if you don't need the solidarity to hit your goals. Considering you must be in the pincer in the first place to have Oxheads, you're likely always going to need the Solidarity bonus.

If it means anything; I built one yesterday and got a Scroll voyage just today, so it's 1/1. Still waiting for days to pass to see if it does anything, obviously.

????? If a merchant wasn't worth having on your boat, you're probably done with the Ports in the first place. Get 4 merchants, never let them leave any ships. Thats just no. If the voyage is sub-100% you don't want a merchant, better to have a different unit for 100%. I can see Quy's point though I would be of the opinion when you have basically 'finished' ports presumably you'd be able to 100% most trade good missions (which are kinda the only reason to still be there) so surely you would be wanting a merchant on most voyages at that point. Wrong. You "don't" want a merchant on board, if the crew slot they are taking up would hinder your success chance by 30%(Or the amount your current tier merchant gives). Little hint, that isn't possible.

Be careful putting Slayer on your best morale captains. It wouldn't surprise me it'll get fixed and give +100 combat soon (as it was probably intended). It's only a hook captain, so it'll be replaced long before Jagex fixes anything. I just did it as a joke. :P Hook captains are the best and rarest captains, though? Unless Woox confirmed Pincer captains? Iunno, would seem odd to stop getting rare and better captains half way through. Wouldn't be hard to replace him either way, I see Hook captains all the time in the Bowl.

It gives +100 morale. I have two of these on a 10k morale captain. It's pretty great :D. Come at me.

Half and half ignore this. Replace maybe one or two more with witches, but keep a few of the base seafarers to abuse Solidarity a little more.

Friend said his times went from avg 9 hours to avg 7 hours on bowl with the rudder upgrade, I'm definitely going for it first. Putting a Bureaucrat/Judge of dice on your boat does that as well.

So, I just unlocked the Bowl. Sent off my first Jade voyage, the next one to replace it was the Island unlock voyage. Managed to put 97% on it, with the help of 3 ration packs and 2 bottled seacrier. Now to wait 12 hours... This giant waiting game is killing me.

Hey, if you like hitting the higher regions of times for voyages, that's up to you. Me personally, don't let my Solidarities leave the ship for any reason. I don't find speed that hard to come by. Then again, my luck with captains is such that I get speed-focused ones :/. Use speed focused captain, lose the same ~500 that you would having the Solidarity onboard. Dunno about you, but I think using a crew slot for Solids is a better deal than a captain slot for speed. That's why I put the ':/'. I don't get any other decent captain :P. You too, huh? Took me a billion rerolls just to get the two captains I have worth anything...

I showed a picture of that line to a friend of mine who is absolutely obsessed with anything green, and just so happens to always wear green trousers. He was not amused.

If you've been doing it since and haven't had another, then I'm sorry to say but you pulled the same thing a friend of mine just realized last night. Speak to either the Black marketeer, or the Barmaid. One of them has an event for you that's been sitting in wait that you missed...

From what I can gather of the bits of info I see of them, I think it's just a glitch they forgot to fix. I'm pretty sure the Judge of Dice is just the next regions Solidarity person, and not something you can actually get now.

Just from some minor number minding, I think I've found a few things people might care to know about the Scythe region. First, the speed threshold. Basically, until you hit the magic number your voyage times will be realllly slow. And then when you hit the magic number, any extra speed after it hardly does squat. For the Scythe, this magic speed number is between 1700 and 1900. Any lower, 4.5 hour voyages. Get passed it and they all become around 3.5, any more speed after will hardly dent it at all. The second threshold I've noticed is when the region starts to kick in and stops giving you so many pushover and over rewarding voyages. For the Scythe, it appears to be around 10% discovery.

My lifeboat is still active, even though a reset occured last night. Maybe you're looking at the wrong ship? Was it always ship specific? I'll take another look. Yep, it's ship specific :) Should still have it on the ship you assigned it to. Well, I took another look. I'm not sure which ship it's on, but the little Active! thing is back, so it's still working. I just have to wait for a ship to port before I can figure out which one it's apparently on. Good to know, at least. In the Voyages menu, you can use the left and right arrow keys to shift between your ships, so you can figure out which ship has which effects active (and apply effects mid-voyage, though they don't seem to work if you do that). Wouldja look at that. Didn't know you could switch the focus of your ships like that. It's on my first ship, which makes things easy since that's usually been where I focus my best crew members first. Thanks.
