  1. Why would you bother doing a large for an arrow hunt? In my experience smalls are just as likely to get you sag arrows.
  2. Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I came here from a google search after having the same problem and managed to fix it. The problem started for me when i accidentally turned on something called "filterkeys" and then switched it off again, and suddenly my mouskeys had no delay after the 1st jump. The solution is to go into the filterkeys settings, click on the linkl to repeat and slowkeys settings, and even when filterkeys are disabled, changing the options like this: somehow fixes the problem, even though this should be a completely unrelated option and has a completely different function when filterkeys is enabled. I'm unsure how these settings are on a computer that this has never happened to, but I am guessing this is what they will be like. Changing that first 0.3 seconds value actually allows you to change the delay if you want to.
  3. Trio is the hardest boss you have to deal with. In terms of deaths I would say it's easier to die on Shadow forger, since you can get 1hko'd by the range splats.
  4. I've only actually posted one of my videos on this thread. I won't post any more about Dgs vs 3bo (Though it hasn't been me that has really, I was just expressing my opinion on binds)
  5. Sag body is a plate yep I think the guy with plate and legs bound makes up for that. 4/5 people with primal bound, 1 with sag and 1 with 2x primal armour binds. Platebeards. ಠ_ಠ The thing is though, 4/5 people also had dps binds (r y a n and robbie had blood neck, foot had primal spear(though that's not the best), and I had 2 with hex and sag body, which in your words "makes up" for the lack of a dps bind, and soccerdude does key most of the time but I would say having both plate and legs are unnecessary). Any info on flesh yet?

  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eejWPaWRLvQ&feature=feedu Gulega with group veng =D (Foot recorded this though I am in the team)
  8. With all the armor and food the guy had, i thought there was for sure going to be ww3 around the corner... I didn't think the keying was particularly good for the floor, mostly as he didn't really have a plan of what what to do right now all the time, while he should clearly have used the map more often to consider some moves. The gatestones were a mess at times and there were many situations where smarter gating could have saved him 10+ seconds. Overall, i'd rank the keying as average, managing something like 28 minutes on an average team. I felt the floor only had a decent time because the team helped out so much(though it's not visible trough the floor). As for dpsing the floor, i felt is was awful and i'd certainly expect people that high level to do alot better. I know some of the issue comes down to having 5x 2h, 1 csb and 1 hex(and we weren't allowed to criticize binds) but i felt the speed that gds were getting done was just too slow- it's likely that every member didn't turmoil flash the entire floor and because of the uniform binds, people couldn't really prioritize in gds and that was a major reason for the lack of dps, but just in general, i would like people to be more proactive and that team was lacking in that department. Also, from that video, it didn't occur to me once that a keyer would need plate+legs+laws binds, but it did occur to me that he still has things to learn about combat mechanics. About his average, it's probably more around 23-25 I guess (which is what I'd say mine are too) I dged with him alot (got 85-103 when he got 110-120) and he keyed like 10 larges today averaging like 23 (worst was 31 with 3 1 way, ghosts 2 mono ramo and 2 pots).
  9. Keying video recorded by Number1Boss: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIlTys-n3Pshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6pstclETg8 Keying videos are always good to watch so I thought I'd post this here. Turn the volume up since everyone but Number1 boss is pretty quiet in the video. Me, Number1 boss, R Y A N, and Crystalfarm were in skype call and the I gio I guy was a 3bo random. Highest dger on the team was ryan with like 170m xp and hes 14 lol. Feel free to post any constructive criticism, though don't just rant about the binds. (and maybe post it on the video too for number1boss).
  10. Well, basically, what it boils down to is the quality of dungeoneers that use those binds. Any newb can use a plate and get a high percentage of use out of it, while the binds we recommend require you to learn and adapt for them to be useful and better. For dungeoneering, a plate might be the best 3rd bind as people just aren't skilled enough, but the approach dgs is taking is that we encourage people to get better and work on their dungeoneering skills by basically disallowing the bind that would be detrimental to learning proper combat mechanics in dungeons, thus, even though some may suffer for it, the end goal is that every one us will have those those vital skills and be much better for it. I'm not saying that a plate is useless, but a really good dungeoneer has enough tricks up his sleeve to avoid atleast as much damage without wasting a bind slot for it, and if you don't learn those tricks, you will never be a good enough dungeoneer. I mostly agree with your post, and am happy to see someone that agrees plate is not completely useless, as everyone seems to dismiss it completely (with the exception of tui and toad it seems). I am not dismissing dps binds either - I have one, a Hexhunter bow and have also had a blood necklace in the past. IN MY EXPERIENCE both defensive and offensive binds can be used well, and not every plate user is a "3bo derp" as alot of you would say. I just prefer platebody, and using it well allows me to get the same xp/hour as your dps binds. (and however much you try to dismiss it, you all know you will get more deaths with a dps bind). So it all boils down to what you prefer since in the end if you know what you're doing, binds don't make much difference to your xp per hour. (go ask lemar or bu11seye00) As xpx stated, the reason we tell people to go for DPS binds is because it forces them to learn new tricks. DGS will recommend to NOT bind any armor until those tricks are learned. the reason behind it has nothing to do with whether or not the platebody is a good bind. Thanks for clearing that up

  12. Haven't gotten necro that often, plus i'm rarely the only hex on the team (did like 5m xp with Jdelacroix and there were almost always 3+ hexes on the team), and also we've often found boss as one of the very last doors. I used ggs tele since my gate was at an alt, and I probably would have run out of cosmics teleing to it and the the ggs each time, but yeah I know about the soaking thing, very useful for geomancer when you run out of food. Tanking the binds and curses wasn't really a problem since i had food, and you don't actually lose any attack turns if you just re-click on necro as he casts it. And yeah I should have had enouh arrows but that was only like my 5th floor after not dging for nearly a month so I wasn't used to conserving them. I usually do 45-47 4 times, or sometimes I do 42-44(flesh spoiler) as well. Why stand still and use food when you don't have to, especially when you weren't re-clicking fast enough to not lose attack turns. People should just take advice without trying to defend themselves. You are right, but I just find it annoying you usually are =p (and it didn't actually make a difference THAT floor since R Y A N didn't get to end for a bit after boss was dead anyway, which was why I defended myself as you put it I guess, plus alkan was blocking for some of it so running would have messed up the block, but there I go again...), though I still partially disagree with you on binds but I don't want to argue about it. The issue on the binds wouldn't matter as much, if you actually clicked fast enough to not loose a combat turn when he does it, but you didn't in your video. By binds I mean armor/dps/weapon binds.

  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjI1f23xNzE Had hex for like 20m xp and this is the first time I've had to fully solo it. Before people rage about number1boss's worldbearer he was just trolling with it and it actually helped with him tanking for me. (Though the blues would have been better used making a deathslinger pouch) Edit: The youtube embed thing doesn't seem to be working so:
  16. Why not the gloves? Only curious. And it seems as you get it in a specific order: boots -> gloves -> helmet -> legs -> chest Goldsmithing gauntlets.
  17. Group venge would be useful for Gulega and skele trio. That's it. I yell at people who make venge runes if there's a very low chance of getting those bosses. Yes, you can use fire runes (or a fire staff) with your csb to cast fire surge. Thunderous too, letting him mage you on purpose. Are you kidding me? His magic attack lowers your prayer and will kill the whole team within a few attacks. That's kinda why you don't let him mage you. ??? You only let him mage you once and with veng group that will rebound 500-1000 damage easily. And even if you don't intentionally make him mage, if someone messes up it would be nice to be venged.
  18. Another alternative for charms now is cannoning greater demons in the forinthry dungeon (multicombat, though it is wilderness). It is slighltly risky but it's over 150 crims/hour and this was from a video of somone doing it quite poorly, so it could be over 200 crimsons per hour, I'm not sure on effigies or other charms though. Here's the video. I intend to try this the next time I slay.

    rapier

Well at a multicombat cannon task you should be using a cls or maul to increase the cannon's accuracy, and a rapier would be worth it for this over whip anyway.

  21. Necro is 39-41, Flesh 42-44 (though obviously you can get necro on any floor 39-47, just less chance after 42)
  22. The trouble with all crafting methods except dragon hide bodies is that the items all have low buy limits, the max amount of battlestaves you can buy yourself per day is 680 (600 from the ge and 80 from naff with varrock armor 4). With air battlestaves you can get 93.5k xp/day max (unless you get friends to buy staves for u) for a cost of about 350k. While gems should in theory be better than dhide bodies (faster xp at a lower cost) the 1k buy limit per 4 hours on emeralds and rubies limits them just like battlestaves.
  23. Dags are a good task, but they are at the lower end of the "good" tasks. So if you had extra points I would suggest cancelling them or Tdogs. But I would wait until you are closer to your slayer xp goal, before you start spending lots of points, just in case you hit a horrible streak. Abbys, Gargs, and Nechs are all pretty bad tasks, in terms to time to 200m all skills. For profit and charms, abbies and nechs are pretty good. Abbies are the most frequently assigned task and they aren't good enough to "do," so to save slayer points it is best to block them. I have a feeling that gargs and nechs should be blocked as well, but according to my frequency data, they aren't assigned as much as the other 6 blocked tasks. Once I get more frequency data I will make sure to update the optimal block list. As for doing gargs and nechs, you could do both every so often for points. They will decrease the optimal function though. Nechs hurt less than gargs, so if you are planning on doing them for points, do Nechs over gargs. As for ice wyrms I think the reason they are to be left out is because they are only good for effigies and slayer xp. They are assigned so frequently that you will end up doing something like 180k of them over 185m slayer xp. So if you are to block them, you will get much more of the frequently assigned tasks that you still "do" which are better tasks. So when they are blocked they end up increasing the amount of black drags and demons... etc. that you do, thus maximizing the time function. Of course I could have bad data, so I have them listed at 160 kills per hour, is that fact? Because if that is dramatically more then they may be a worth while task. Also remember this is not a guide, the optimal task list is just something that can be produced from this model. People should think of it more as a tool for them to decide what tasks they want to do. I know the excel sheet is very messy to look at, but that is still because it's a beta. There are still some things that I want to change/add, so once I do that I will make it more user friendly. So if you are not rich enough to pass up whip drops, or just plan don't want to. You can certainly do abbies, it is not like you would be playing the game wrong. lol. Here is the numbers if you were to Do abbies, block Nechs, and cancel Tdogs: [spoiler=The numbers]Total Slayer Xp Killed 185,000,000 Total Green Charms 167,058 Total Crimson Charms 204,744 Total Blue Charms 43,286 Hours to Run Charms 118.597 Total Summon Xp 148,800,236 Sum:Slayer Ratio 0.804325598 Total Effigies 1,754 Total Investigation xp 19,735,711 Total Lamp Xp 84,256,574 Slayer xp:Effigy Ratio 105456.04 Total Hours Slaying 3894.04 Average Xp/hour 47,508.52 Avxp/h w/ Eff on Slay 69,145.85 E(Slayer points) 3.327935223 Slayer Hs - Skilling Hs (858.49) So you can see that you are losing more than 400 hours over 185m slayer xp if you do abbies. This is because of how frequently they are assigned instead of doing 0 abbies, you will have to kill around 255k of them. That is 100k more than any other NPC. However with a drop rate of 1/512, that means you will get about 498 whips. At 1.2m each that is 597,600,000 gp. So since my model does not account for profit. Can you make 600m in 400 hours? 1.5m per hour? If not, then abbies are worth doing. That is one big reason, why my model is not a guide, but a tool. My "Optimal task list" may not be optimal for everyone, especially because it doesn't include a "fun factor." It is a video game do what you enjoy. There is no reason to listen to me. Abyssals are an additional 1m/hour if you bank the infernal ashes with a yak, which changes it to 1b in 400 hours, which is still only 2.5m/hour value of time but meh I like abyssals lol.
